  1. No issue. This is one of those myths that people love to pass around the internet. Apparently there is an Envelope Association. They have stated something to the effect that no one can remember a time when wheat was used. There is a direct link on this forum somewhere.
  2. In your home, there will be a big re-learning of habits. So make everything as easy as possible. 2 pb jars -the gluten-free one with a big piece of red tape on the top. Stuff like that. If your husband or family doesn't understand how serious it is, show them some info from a "real" medical Celiac center like this: Open Original Shared Link ...
  3. I have never heard of a doc that has any clue if a med has gluten. Some of them will tell you it doesn't becasue they think it silly. The best way to know if the med is gluten-free is to call or email the company.
  4. I was worried more about stinky people offending each other in the clown car. But yes, you must bring enough gluten-free cake to keep the Yeti and the Queen happy. One of us might eat you if we don't have enough cake!
  5. For me, my numbers were more than the tests "count". So 4 months gluten-free, they were still a bit elevated. This assumes you have enough antibodies to register in a test: Open Original Shared Link "What is the half-life of antibodies in the blood serum? tTG and DGP typically decline to half their initial value in 3-4 months once on...
  6. She may not have diagnosed you with Celiac. The person who coded the "wheat intolerant" might have found that the code for Celiac disease best fit that diagnosis. The codes can fit a spectrum of issues. Give her a chance tomorrow. Have you been eating gluten? if so, ask for the blood tests. If not, there is no reason to get the blood tests.
  7. Maybe a little clown car & 20 psillies inside! Everyone wear your deodorant and brush your teeth!
  8. What was the range for the test? My understanding is that it is normal to have a number in the negative range. I think it may be how the tests work. But, if the person isn't eating gluten, they wouldn't make any antibodies to it, so its probably a waste of money.
  9. So...The child hasn't eaten gluten in 6-7 months? The results would likely be negative, even if she has Celiac. Open Original Shared Link
  10. In all fairness to the ED doc, The ER isn't really the place to get tests like the Celiac panel run. The pediatrician should run the whole panel.
  11. This is pretty standard. I would use them.
  12. I have bought some different things from vitamin Shoppe and they have labelled the ingredients pretty well. There are certainly many brands that say gluten free on them so you could switch to one of them.
  13. They didn't take samples from all the parts. They have to send them to the pathologist if they did. Is it possible you only got part of the path report?
  14. Did you check the web page? Its the most reliable source other than the package. Open Original Shared Link
  15. This pleases The Queen! Another Royal Proclamation: Hence forth, to honor The Royal Queen Karen, ' cake" shall hence forth be spelled as "Kake".
  16. Yes! Call forth The Royal Yeti to lead the parade!
  17. Make it so, GeeEFF! Now if my face was on the packaging.....
  18. I was able to save 2 drafts. I had to go back to my main blog and add another entry.
  19. Not sure what the problem is. I was able to save a draft and then "publish" it. Publish was an "option". Scott or Peter will have to look at it more indepth. I did not try to save more than one draft. I'll try that now.
  20. We seem to be having problems with the blog section. I'm just trying it. 11/29/2017 - Wow! It is letting me edit
  21. Here is a good place to start: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/
  22. This shall be my proclamation! Let them eat gluten-free cake!
  23. WOW! Me and my big mouth! Off with her head!
