  1. Open Original Shared Link See if that works. I looked at it. I have seen them on that show a few times, but they really are hard to watch. They always have a glass of wine or some alcoholic beverage and act drunk sometimes. I think this video is getting too much attention. Addy just posted a much better one on this thread. https://www.celiac.com/forums...
  2. I love potato chips but....they are full of fat, sodium and no real nutritional value. But, if you need the calories, then enjoy some. My mom's dietician said to give her chips for an empty calorie snack but she can't have the salt.
  3. Is it OK if I looked at it? Cause I did! So cute!
  4. You can't cure Celiac disease at this time. I guess you could cure a non- Celiac gluten intolerance. Probably depends on why they were intolerant in the first place. Maybe that reason isn't a factor any more. Problem is, it isn't always clear what the underlying issue is. This is based on the assumption a person who SAYS they have a gluten Intolerance...
  5. I doubt companies want to "add" gluten to products to make them test up to 20ppm. That would be silly and hard to do. I think they just want to have the same standards as the other coutries they sell products in. I wonder if the older 20ppm tests are cheaper?
  6. I didn't see that as condescending. I thought she was trying to give you some hope and explain what it has been like for her. Most newbies want some help from people who have gone thru it and have tips, advice and can let them know that you will survive and maybe even be happy again.
  7. If you have been eating it with no problems and the manufacturing process hasn't changed, its still the same food you have been eating all along. I don't know the rules in Australia, but in the US, they don't have to label the shared facility or shared lines thing. Maybe they had a certain period of time to comply with your labelling laws? If they...
  8. Looks like its showing now. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/102018-how-accurate-are-celiac-blood-tests/#entry870964 When you are new, you must have your posts apporved by a moderator. We are all volunteers and sometimes, like the middle of the night US time, there might not be a mod on here to do it. edited to fix link
  9. Just from some common sense knowledge, but some veggies and fruits are known to cause gas in "normal" people. I think pears are in that group, too. Maybe you are just "normal"?
  10. I'm assuming you have not been eating gluten-free? Open Original Shared Link
  11. What about tapioca? Here's one example. Some of the mixes say to add cheese, but you don't have to. Open Original Shared Link This site has a few different ones like millet, sorghum or coconut Open Original Shared Link Bean, pea, buckwheat?
  12. Ask the GI. Take this in for him/ her to see. Open Original Shared Link What is a gluten challenge? A gluten challenge is the period of time when gluten is added back into a person’s diet to assist in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a...
  13. That's an interesting article. I'm not familiar with the specifics of your gluten-free labeling laws. From what I have seen from other people in Australia, they may not be either. I would hate for them to loosen up just because the rest of the world is a bit looser. But....many gluten-free companies are testing to 10 ppm even if the US proposed law...
  14. People always say I make the best brownies. Gluten Free Pantry has a good mix with the chips in it. Or use the choc chips or mini ones ( they melt in better) in the Betty Crocker ones. I like to add Kraft caramel bits. I made some of the Betty Crocker ones and put a chocolate ganache on them. Then cut them into bite sized squares and put a raspberry...
  15. How big is an industrial can of beans? What is your silly heat issue? That you can't be hot? Just crank up the AC or go to the basement or other room.
  16. Food we have had the last few days: Steak on the grill with veggie ( potato, red pep, sweet onion & pineapple) kabobs - marinated in San-J Teryaki Thai chicken pizza - tomato based BBQ. Sauce topped with grilled chicken, moz, small pieces of broc - when it comes out, top with a generous drizzle of spicy peanut sauce and crushed peanuts BBQ chicken...
  17. What is this? How have I never heard of this? http://www.chex.com/Recipes/RecipeView.aspx?RecipeId=49162&CategoryId=447
  18. I cook them without toppings until almost done and that helps. I also make then with the cheese. I figure there is enough cheese on top of the pizza!
  19. I don't like everyone on here to know my true, supermodel, identity!
  20. I just accepted. But first it said Peter's friend & I thought who ?
  21. Bunny! That Burton's looks like a good reason to move to Mass! I think you could eat 3 meals a day there if you planned it. 11:30 am, 5 pm 10:00 pm
  22. Not to be dumb but....is the bacon cooked? How much maple syrup?
  23. I'm guessing you do not have Celiac Disease? You may not get many others on here that can " relate" as we don't eat any gluten products. Perhaps you should check the ingredients? See if there is a common one or two in the products that bother you but not in homemade?
  24. Looks like the ones from the local restaurant are gluten-free. They sell them at some of the groceries, too. Or the one Irish posted would work. I don't know if anyone is coming over and probably won't until 3 or 4. Hub is smoking some pork but I don't have enough sides if I have extra people....ugh!
  25. Gluten free! http://www.bushbeans.com/en_US/products/dietary_considerations/
