  1. Pleurisy for years? The kind that is temporary & you take Advil for would be gone. Pleurisy that lasted for years , well, the underlying disease, like TB, would have killed you by now! In my non- medical opinion. I had heart palps that went away once I got my anemia under control. I think my poor heart wasn't getting enough oxygen and was...

    ARCHIVED Msp Airport!

I always figure there is nothing to eat. There are usually nuts, chips, maybe, fruit. I would pack a sandwich. I wouldn't want to chance some fast food place giving me something that would make me sick on the plane.
  3. We use the plain uncoated fries with no trouble. Looked at the ones in the freezer and they said they have annatto. Not sure if all the types do. Its a seed to make things yellow. I have heard of several people who react badly to it. It is not gluten.
  4. Those are soo good! Put them on a tray and bake at 350 for a few minutes! Like getting warm chips at a Mexican place!
  5. Forgot: please note I said I hoped he wouldn't stay a jerk about it. I hoped you could make him understand it isn't funny to feel so bad. And you will be lucky if it's as simple as a diet change.
  6. There is clearly something wrong. He should be worried. It could be more serious than celiac disease. You need to go to the doctor right away. If it's affecting your speech and thinking. Also, get a blood test for anemia, B12, and vitamin D. Thyroid would be good to test, too. Even my teenage boys noticed I had no energy and was fading fast. Let...
  7. I had a recipe for " fix it and forget it stew". I think it was 250F for 6 hours. I looked on the Internet for that recipe and found one cooked at 275 and one at 225 for 4-6 hours. Really warms up the kitchen.
  8. Actually, undiagnosed Celiac can kill you. You can die of malnutrition. I was so anemic from not being able to absorb nutrients my blood couldn't get oxygen to my brain. If you had a broken arm, he wouldn't feel bad? He wouldn't help you until the cast was off and it was up to strength? With Celiac, because you can't absorb nutrients, you will...
  9. I do the fried sweet potato and a little salt and a lot of cinnamon. I am not a huge plain sweet potato fan but imlike them this way.
  10. I think the newer crockpots cook faster. Mine never needs as much time as a recipe says. Sometimes the best food looks bad but tastes great!
  11. We were there this summer. You go to the " courthouse" when you first go in. They have a list of what gluten-free stuff is served where. I had a burger with a bun & fries. There is pizza. Not just 1 place but places to eat all over the park. One person in each kitchen is responsible for the " allergy" foods. It may take a few minutes longer. ...
  12. Glad you liked it! My oldest goes there often.
  13. That''s what I iwould do. but If it's going to stress you, don't.
  14. This is just what I do at my house. If someone was using wheat flour, I would put everything else away. I don't leave my glass of water on the "gluten" counter where they make sandwiches. I don't see how a bread crumb could cross the kitchen and fly up another 8 inches to the counter I leave my glass on. If we need to make a crumby mess, gluten or otherwise...
  15. I put the gluten-free stuff away so no one accidentally grabs one. I don't have gluten flying in the air, so I don't worry about my water glass sitting on the counter.
  16. I'm trying to beat Patti (Jerseyangel)! Or as some would say - I talk too much!
  17. Yep! Corn & rice pasta holds up a bit better but she isn't doing corn.
  18. I saw an Italian chef on a cooking show recently (can't remember who or where, just this important fact). He or she said that meatballs should be cooked in the sauce. Do you have turkey Italian sausage where you live? Not sure of the sodium but a little adds a lot of flavor. Could mix with the meatballs or just use in the "soup" It's hard to please...
  19. Oh. Sorry. I posted a Minestrone crockpot soup recipe. Its even better the next day. Can be completely vegetarian, even vegan.
  20. I think this would be good without the onions. I don't add the mushrooms. Add a little more basil & oregano & garlic. The shredded parm is way better than that grated stuff in the green can. The next day, the noodles soak up all the broth. Microwave and its really good. Crockpot Vegetable Minestrone 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth...
  21. I left the onions in for others who might want to make this. I have made it without when I thought I had some in the freezer & didn't. Also, can you do onion powder? My dad has a hard time with pieces of onion but the powder is OK in moderation. 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed 5 carrots sliced thinly 1 onion, diced 3 ribs of celery, diced 5...
  22. I have made recipes without onion because I didn't have any & they were fine. I'll come back on later today when I have time & give you a couple of recipes. Not everything needs to be thickened. They will still taste the same. Instant mashed potatoes can thicken, too.
  23. I think you have to read the ingredients. From what I understand from Koreans, it's depends on what your mom made. Cabbage and other veggies, & peppers. Fermented pickled. I have had homemade a few times ( told it's Korean coleslaw or saurkraut). Too spicy for me. If it's pre packed, just read the ingredients.
  24. Not sure if its funny or I'm horrified!
  25. Think I'll stick to chili cheese fries at home.
