  1. Mannitol doesn't have gluten. It does give me a stomach ache if I eat sugar free candy. The little bit in my sublingual B12 doesn't seem to bother me.
  2. That explanation doesn't make much sense, does it? Walmart puts the labels on the cans? switches can labels? Sounds like if you pushed it, they would say you switched the labels. Did they at least give you some coupons?
  3. Read the ingredients because a variety may have wheat Chili seasoning- Williams. ( Mc Cormicks had wheat) BBQ - Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link ( check the country)
  4. Is it possible it has nothing to do with gluten? You didn't click with him? Fell in a snow drift? A Victorias Secret model wants him? Thanks for the update
  5. I like this guy already! Good luck!
  6. I don't have any scientific data to prove this but, sometimes I think it may depend on what else we have in our stomachs at the same time. Maybe it pushes it thru faster or coats the gluten or the intestine. Maybe pure wheat on an empty stomach would cause more reaction. I see this with my son & high fructose corn syrup which can be hard to digest...
  7. I live in Kansas! I have wheat stalks on my liscense plate! This is a real holiday!
  8. Sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you said he had positive blood work. You will probably have to put him back on gluten for months maybe longer to get an official diagnosis. If he had very positive blood work, good response to diet and new blood work had gone down, I thought they could diagnose from that.
  9. The dogs do seem to enjoy pulling the sleds. Just saw a local news spot about the big food pantry's Souper Bowl drive. They try to collect lots of soup. Churches, schools, etc collect it and Harvesters distributes it to pantries and food kitchens. They were showing the big blue barrels of collected soup. In one was a pan era bag with handles. In it...
  10. My dog and all the dogs we dog sit, will do anything for some gluten-free Rice Chex!
  11. Actually, we celebrate all holidays except St Gluten of the Wheat Fields Day.
  12. Roda, I'm not sure exactly why you are going to give him gluten and make him sick? If his blood test was conclusive, but for some reason you or the GI choose not to do a biopsy, it's too late now. You could retake the blood tests and they should be going down significantly. That and his growth and relief of other symptoms should point to Celiac. I...
  13. Happy birthday! What do you want to talk about? Getting older? Sucks but it's better than the alternative. gluten-free birthday cupcakes! Yum! I' m making some today for my son's 18 th birthday and Superbowl party. If you can get to Kansas by game time, I'll save one for you.
  14. Srall, Sorry. Tried to hit the plus but they are so close together, I must of hit the minus. I have a touch screen. Just trying to let you know I liked your answer.
  15. I know! Medical stuff says that morning, afternoon and evening sickness means a strong pregnancy. Why can't clear skin, lustrous hair and extra energy be a sign of a good pregnancy?
  16. I need some funny: A Thoughtful Valentine's Day Gift Jim asked his friend, Tony, whether he had bought his wife anything for Valentine's Day. 'Yes,' came the answer from Tony who was a bit of a chauvinist, 'I've bought her a belt and a bag.' 'That was very kind of you,' Jim added, 'I hope she appreciated the thought.' Tony smiled as he replied...
  17. Exactly! He wants to biopsy you? So what! I want to slap him! Should I? No. Just cause needless suffering and pain.
  18. You probably don't read other peoples topics on here, but if you did, you would see that " Get counseling" is seldom anyone's recommendation. Wonder why they would say that to you but not 98% of the other posters? Seems odd that it's the response you get from most others you talk to. I never get that when I tell my friends about my problems. Hmmm...
  19. J & his friends saw a movie about " concious dreaming". They try to influence their dreams. They end up with some really crazy dreams. Zombies ruling the world. People in jail for the cello falling out of the car. Go sled doggies!
  20. I'm a little confused about that doc. If you are well healed, why is he asking you to hurt yourself and cause damage? Just because he makes a good profit on endos and colonoscopies, doesn't make it right. His oath says something like " Do no harm". Would you say to a well controlled diabetic, " your blood sugars have been stable for years on insulin...
  21. it's attitudes like those doctors have that keep older people from being diagnosed. Those doctors assume it's a childhood disease, that if untreated, will kill you after 20 years of malnutrition. There have been many articles reproduced on this forum that say that celiac disease can be triggered in adults. Also, that more elderly people are being diagnosed...
  22. Do what I would do if these were my kids. In your best mom or teacher voice, " and why do you think that is? Can you think of any reason the car might not be picked up?". Probably can't do that. Just be super sweet and nice. I used to work in No Cal and would put on a southern voice and be all apologetic and explain why those bad lawyers couldn't have...
  23. Maybe we could all move to Maine! Take it over. Make it the gluten free homeland! I'ld suggest you all move here to Kansas but it would take too much money to detox it from wheat.
  24. I had a big box of Kosher salt and one of pickling salt. Hub used those once because there was no ice melt to be found.
  25. Ours went to school today! Still really cold but the schools are all shovelled now. We only had a small coating of ice.
