  1. The stool test would not be for celiac. It is fairly unusual to get a + test in a child so young, so I would bet she is Celiac. get the endoscopy done, then take her gluten free. And since it is genetic, you and her father should be tested as well. LOL i see mitz beat me to it. The stool tests are likely for parasites, you know how toddlers put EVERYTHING...
  2. my initial knowledge of celiac was that is was a uniformly fatal disease of the very young.....
  3. Seizures are not unknown in celiac disease. Maybe what is happening is that you are OVER medicated now, being gluten free.
  4. I am wondering if it could be neuro, ie not in the skin at all?
  5. maybe he needs to understand that by not testing he is commiting malpractice?
  6. Was the "white, bullseye" area, where you put your antipersperant?
  7. money, the bottom line. whatever you want to call it. good luck
  8. to me, it is malpractice. I was soo angery when I first read this post, I couldn't formulate a reply that would have been allowed...
  9. The performance of the peptide AGA assay was excellent, showing a specificity and sensitivity of 90% and 92% for IgA, and 98% and 75% for IgG, respectively. The above info is from "clinic immulogy" 2007. Either your doc is behind, or way ahead and we havent seen the info yet. I am voting for the former. The ped should have ordered the the IgG version...
  10. could have been a degree of fat malabsorbtion, do you/did you take a statin?
  11. try to find a non dairy probiotic, you may need to progess to a digestive enzyme also. good luck
  12. YES! we are unique genetic beings, and our experience in the world is also unique to each of us. Your brother may have a celiac gene (or not) from the other parent, may have it in combo with a different nonceliac gene, than you do, so may exhibit different sx. all your sibs and your parents need to be tested, and if neg, retested every few years. good...
  13. I realize that you and your husband had both IgA and IgG run, but i would still like to see a total IgA. also the deaminated testing is apparently the "new" norm?
  14. No, you need to get the actual numbers, and ALL tests that were run. then try the diet for 8-12 weeks.
  15. the short answer? yes....the % of diagnosed celiacs, in the USA that are neg for the 2 prominent genes is apparently in the 1-3% range. however, in other countries other genes are acknowledged as being potential celiac genes....sooo if you repeat the genetic test and/or get a complete result, you may find yourself + for one of those. That is why the gene...
  16. it could be a combo of issues, not right time of day, not enough skin exposed, and ? too vigorous washing too soon after exposure. maybe a very low fat diet?
  17. if he is not dairy free, try kefir. wide spectrum probiotic. if that doesn't work, or he won't drink it, lol. check out other brands, try getting different mixes of bacteria. Maybe even alternate brands to cover that. and there is also the possibility of needing digestive enzymes.
  18. you beat me to it, lol. Make your own and "rent" freezer space. Then they can return your own homemade stuff in series....everybody gets to "bring" something, and YOU are safe.
  19. get out in the sun! if you are fair skinned, you may need to break it up, but 15-20 daily, with large skin areas exposed, no sun screen. NOT enough to tan, that defeats the purpose.
  20. See if you can get the endo to order lab work ahead of the visit, and roll the celiac testing in with that, should be able to save an accession fee. yup, it appears that PCOS may be 2' to celiac/carbohydrated digestion issues. I would bet the sleep meds aren't working because your gut is sooo messed up, you are not absorbing it. I am not sure but i think...
  21. do you have the head of your bed elevated?
  22. It is likely that your dog would be better off gluten free any way.
  23. unless your B12 was over 500, and your methylmalonic acid normal, and you are under forty.......you might be B12 deficient, especially being a vegan. good luck
