  1. unless your testing is going to be withing a very few days of your stopping gluten, no, the tests will not nec. be accurate.
  2. perhaps a probiotic? emphasizing the enzymes for carbs.
  3. yup, might well be an ulcer....need to get it checked out.
  4. that 261 is your TOTAL IgA, not the gliadin one....I am thinking you might be at least on DQ1...with the neuro issues, and it is not unusual that they test -. The diet is the true test. good luck
  5. YOU NEED TO GET THE WHOLE FAMILY TESTED! yes, I am yelling!
  6. and pies, cereals, candies and snack foods, are FD&C Blue 1 and 2; FD&C Green 3, Orange B, FD&C Red 3, FD&C Red 40, FD&C Yellow 5 and 6. this is the list i found, every one of the ones you mention is there....
  7. Open Original Shared Link Remember the "Jefferson's"? TV show....the upstairs neighbor (the actor, not the character) had this, dx by a doc in the Tv audience.
  8. and your mom needs to be tested!
  9. maybe it would be a good idea to write your state Medical society? you know, the state level AMA.....
  10. plan your leaving. He may not have been physically abusive to this point. Escalation can happen at any time. Figure out where, then when, and go.
  11. perhaps the doc's office didn't word the request quite right?
  12. I don't know about anything else, but I have read that taking B12 orally, you should stop several days before testing, and if by injection, should test right before next shot is to be given.
  13. If you are at all symptomatic, you want the B12 level over 500. You need to take a separate B12 supplement, on an empty stomache, even if you do it sublingual, because most of that goes into your gut via saliva. you can get subliguals in 1-5 mcg per tab. When you retest, make sure you don't take any for several days before the test.
  14. you might want to "yes" the dietician to death, lol.
  15. perhaps following those other parents lead??? would be a good idea...
  16. your wee one is blessed! the things we happen to read in the check out line, at least this was useful, lol.

  18. Open Original Shared Link according to this, over 40 would equal a marsh scale of 1, soooo, get the results and see what it says. edit to add: also, you might want to check with other mothers (descretely) if this doc has refered "failure to thrive" to CPS, you DON'T want to tangle with them!
  19. I would think, perhaps, this is where the different gene sets come into play. How tall are your siblings (if any) and how tall are your husband's siblings (if any)? If both you and your husband have had your height shortened d/t celiac, then it can't be taken as a "slam dunk" that your offspring will be short. good luck
  20. the genetic testing will not give you a diagnosis. Not everyone with the genes developes celiac.
  21. LOL, most welcome. Pubmed is your friend....
  22. You may find sublingual B12 at one of those, but it will be cyanocobalamin, not methyl. Try on line, Iherb, puritans pride, whatever. The research with B6 and neuropathy was with large doses, and again not the "activated/methylated" version. B12, large doses in a deficient person, may give rise to "healing" pain, much like the reawakening of a limb after...
  23. If you can afford the copays, I would put a rush on getting them all tested, and if nec., on the gluten free diet. BEFORE school starts in the fall......
