  1. Actually, most gum IS gluten free. Of course you always have to check but I know for a fact that Bubblicious, Trident Sugarfree, and Orbit Sugarfree are all gluten-free.
  2. Umm, you should not have Coke because you're only allowed light colored liquids before a colonoscopy. the dark liquids stain your intestines!! I only had to drink a 3 oz. bottle but it was every bit as nauseating!!! You can chase it with ginger ale or sprite but no dark colors!!! And no liquids at all after a certain point..for me it was midnight. it depends...
  3. What I miss most is simply the convenience of stopping to eat anywhere I please. If I am hungry in the morning while at Starbucks I used to be able to grab a muffin. If I'm on a trip I could stop in to get a burger or sandwich anywhere I wanted. Sure, I carry food with me all of the time, but I am soooo sick of the same stuff...it's not like you can have...
  4. Before going gluten free my blood pressure was always 120/70 or 80. After going gluten free my blood pressure plummeted and is now in the range of 90/60. Who knows why???? The doctors can't say. They don't seem worried about it, either, so I guess I just deal with it.
  5. I take a B Complex vitamin by Twin Lab, a good vitamin company. I get them at my local grocery store....depending on where you live.... I am also sick of the same foods and it has led me to eat lots of sugar! I'd love to try new recipes and all that but the fact is, even though I am a good cook, I don't really LIKE to cook! So I guess it's either spend...
  6. I eat at Carrabba's at least once a week and I LOVE it. Last night the manager told me if I brought in my own gluten-free pasta they would prepare it so I could have a pasta meal as well! I eat there all the time and never get sick; it's great. Same with PF chang's and Outback. LOVE em all.
  7. When I went gluten free my tummy finally felt awesome; better than it ever had. But I got all of these other odd symptoms. I was posting on this website ALL the time; if you look back far enough you'd find them! My threads all had titles like this: Dizziness after going gluten-free? Reflux after going gluten-free? Visual disturbances after going gluten...
  8. Yes I have had this; it's an awful feeling and it sound just like you described. For me it started only AFTER going gluten free. It gradually got better for me and now it happens less and less but it is always scary. I've had a million tests, all of which came up negative, so for now I guess I'm fine. I also get this way when I get a migraine. Sometimes...
  9. Hi there, I know what you're feeling...most of us have gone through a similar experience. You are probably experiencing gluten withdrawls. It can take some time for this to go away. Some people are lucky and just get better right away but for a lot of us that isn't how it happened. Also, it takes time for your gut to heal after going gluten-free so it's...
  10. I'm almost positive Zofran IS gluten free. I take it when nauseated and it works wonders. I just think that Glaxo-Smith Kline won't say for sure it's gluten free cus' they want to cover their butts, but a lot of us take it and are fine.
  11. I take Zofran when I'm nauseated and it works like a charm. I'm pretty sure it's gluten free because I have never reacted and it's always HELPED when I was glutened accidentally by some other food. I'm almost 100% sure it's gluten free.
  12. I went crazy having everything checked; ears, brain, blood sugar, thyroid....all came up fine. I just think it was gluten withdrawl.
  13. I still would like to find out what the first two results mean....It's confusing...and it's really hard to get my dr on the phone!
  14. I had that terrible dizziness after going gluten free, too. I personally think it is gluten withdrawl. It lasted a couple of months for me, then it got better.
  15. I got my results but I can't figure out how to interpret some of it. if anyone knows, please help: It says: HLA-DQB1 03(DQ7) HLA-DQB1 -(DQ)- HLA-DQ2 Negative HLA-DQ8 Negative My dr. says this means all of it is negative but I don't know how to interpet those top two results. Any thoughts? This test was sent...

    ARCHIVED Anxiety

I suffer from terrible anxiety, too, and I took Lexapro and it helped. Now I am taking Cymbalta because I have depression AND anxiety and Lexapro doesn't really work for depression. But, it was great for the anxiety. If your dr has given it to you, I say go for it. I waited far too long to take anything because I was so afraid and it has made the best...
  17. I had a negative endoscopy and only one positive blood test out of the 3 that are typically done but I'm convinced my body doesn't tolerate gluten. You have some of the classic signs, especially the deficiencies and rapid worsening symptoms. If you are hard up for money or time you may want to try the gluten free diet. Especially if your tests are negative...
  18. I had so much nausea I lost 20 lbs. right away. But it gets better. Now I rarely have it although it does creep up sometimes. I also found out I had acid reflux a few months after going gluten free and once I started on Nexium the nausea disappeared. I tried going off Nexium and it returned....my dr. says 25% of reflux patients do NOT present with heartburn...
  19. It could be a whole host of things: are you pregnant? I'm assuming not-that's usually the first thing you'd rule out! How is your blood sugar? Thyroid? You could be lactose intolerant, you could have other food allergies, and believe it or not, you could have anxiety. One major way my anxiety presents is with nausea, and a lot of it. Only when I started...
  20. Hi there, Sorry you are so ill. My suggestion for you might not be what you want to hear, but it is what I do. I stay away from mainstream food like Cheetos and I NEVER eat out at unreliable places. You have to make perfectly sure ALL of your food is safe, and be meticulous about it. It is a pain but it is better than being sick. You have to be more careful...
  21. definitely NOT gluten free.
  22. i eat there all the time and am fine. The onions are not gluten free? I eat them all the time. I don't think they're grilled, though, just raw. Well, i never get sick...hmmm?
  23. OK here is what is says: The left side is the test, the right side results. HLA-DQB1 03(DQ7) HLA-DQB1 - (DQ-) HLA-DQ2 Negative HLA-DQ8 Negative Does anyone know what the first two mean? My dr. says it is all negative and that I can eat wheat again and see how I feel. If anyone...
  24. I just called the dr and they are going to mail me my results. The nurse didn't know off the top of her head which genes they tested for. I have had an Enterolab test, I think.....isn't that when they do the whole food panel? It came back wheat and yeast...is that the test where it rates the allergy from 1 as the lowest to 4 as the highest?
  25. Ok, I have been gluten-free for 18 months. My dr said 18 months ago that I had a 50% chance of having Celiac. Only one of 3 blood tests came back positive and it wasn't the important one that they really use to dx people. Biopsy was fine, no signs of Celiac. I have been gluten-free anyway. Six weeks ago I had a genetic test done and yesterday I got results...
