  1. You're right; I should know better than to complain about the complainers. I think it's the end of the year and as a teacher of high school and finals next week all I hear every day is kids complaining about too much work, too many rules, etc. My patience is worn thin with complainers right now so when I see it I freak out. I just wish people could learn...
  2. I haven't been on that Delphi board and it's a darn good thing because I'd probably just get myself kicked off. Those people have very, very serious issues and clearly too much time on their hands to complain about that episode. I just can't believe anyone would get that upset over an episode of television fiction. I am a person that gets angry really...
  3. It's a good thing I am not on the Delphi boards then! Cus' I love House and all the fuss really pisses me off!!!! I thought it was a FAB show and was just happy to hear celiac disease mentioned at all! I know it is not pc to say so, but I firmly believe Americans have become a bunch of whiners about so many things. Not everyone, of course. But anyone who...
  4. Help-does anyone else have troubles getting on the House board at fox. com? Every time I click on Boards it says, error, not found. Has anyone else had this experience and figured out how to get in?
  5. What is SAM E and how does it help? Feeling better the last couple of days. Hopefullly the worst is past. I've been completely off for 10 days now..I still feel the effects, though. Wonder how long I will feel effects? It does lessen each day that goes by, though.
  6. That's true, for sure, Broncobux. Real life situations aren't nearly as dramatic, especially with lawyer shows! But, if they didn't make them dramatic no one would watch! lol I think the new feeling I have for a lot of our country is entitlement. A lot of people felt entitled to a different kind of show than what House came up with. As a high school teacher...
  7. In any case I really enjoyed the episode and I wasn't disappointed at all. I think some people are just biased because it is their disease being featured. Really, House doesn't ever educate anyone on any health issue; so if we're upset, shouldn't every one who has a disease featured on House get upset and complain that it wasn't real enough or explained well...
  8. Judy in Philly, I wrote my post because I get increasingly annoyed when people believe that television producers owe viewers anything, because they don't. A LOT of television is based on fiction! I'm not sure why anyone would try to pick apart a medical diagnosis shown on a television drama; it's a huge waste of time. I didn't appreciate the suicide comment...
  9. Duh-I just posted on this before seeing this thread! LOL It was GREAT-I watch House anyway and had NO clue they were doing this. LOVE Hugh Laurie-in fact, all the guys on this show are HOT! LOL Loved when he said, "Am I gonna have to drop the N bomb?" sooooo funny. I laughed for like, 5 minutes!!! Ok, anyone that watches this show regularly would not...

    ARCHIVED "house"

Tonight on Fox's show "House" (a GREAT show by the way), a woman having seizures and trying to kill her infant was admitted into the hospital. Baby dies; woman has stomach cancer and nutritional deficiencies that led to delusions. Can you guess why? That's right; the baby and mother had Celiac Disease. The dr's couldn't figure out why they could not save...
  11. That is what I am hoping-I guess it just makes me nervous because this what I used to feel like before taking the Effexor. I've already lost 4 lbs by the way!
  12. I am REALLY struggling today...I'm not sure if it's the going-off process or not-I've been Effexor free for exactly one week now. Boy, I hope this is just part of the process. I have been in the WORST mood ever today. I mean, BAD. I went an exercised at the gym with my hubby for a full hour and everything and I am still in the foulest mood ever. Now I remember...
  13. Hey all, Your posts are so helpful! After 3-4 weeks of weaning, today is my second day taking none at all. I am not going to take Lexapro, either. My energy level is great; I've been exercising at least 30 min a day. Depression seems to be not returning but anxiety is a little! Oh well...guess I've dealt with it all my life anyway. Today I was really sick...
  14. I guess my question is, why do you have so much pain? Is it only when being glutened?
  15. Well, I think I was glutened but oddly enough if I was it waited about 12 hours to come on. I ate at Golden Spoon frozen yogurt, which is normal enough. I had a bite of my hubby's yogurt, which of course was gluten-free as well as mine, but maybe it was contaminated. In any case I was fine last night except for some gas but this morning had massive D and...
  16. Thanks, guys. Interestingly enough, last night I took half of my usual dosage and this morning I only ate a little for breakfast. My whole life I'm usually not hungry in the morning and only eat maybe a small bowl of cereal at best in the early am. On Effexor I would refill my cereal bowl like, 4 times!!! Ridiculous! I feel OK so we'll see how it goes....
  17. I'm sorry if this was already posted, but if it was, I couldn't find the thread. Anyway, does anyone know of gluten free hams? My mother said she just called honey baked ham store and they are not gluten-free.
  18. Actually, my doctor prescribed me Lexapro and said I still had to taper off Effexor...weird, huh? Oh well, I am going to TRY to not take the Lexapro if I feel well enough after stopping the Effexor. Last night I took half of my usual dose and I feel great today, so I'm hoping it will be slow enough so I don't go crazy! Literally! I always exercise so that...
  19. Yes, I am tapering off Effexor. I could not just quit cold turkey! If I forget my meds for one day I am sick! Anyway, I've only been taking Effexor for 9 months. Before that I have never taken an antidepressant. Oddly enough, once I started the gluten free diet, that is when my anxiety and depression started. I never had it before that. My diet is very...

    ARCHIVED Headache

If your headaches don't get better you may want to ask your doctor about Imitrex or Relpax. I take Relpax for my migraines-it is the ONLY thing that works. 50 tylenol can't help me when I have a migraine. I get nausea, light sensitivity, and flu like symptoms. If your headaches get worse ask you dr about those meds. They work wonders.
  21. Hi Evie, Keep up the good work. You can do this! We all did and although it is hard you will look back on these first few months later and be so proud of yourself. And, you will feel so much better!!! We're here for you...
  22. Okay, so I am going off Effexor (weight gain, night sweats, fatigue). Mainly because of the side effects even though it works WONDERS for my anxiety/depression. I just cannot deal with the weight gain. When I went to dr today my chart said I weighed 111 last year at the same time (when I started Effexor. ) Now today I weight 129. I know that may not seem...
  23. I am a high school choral teacher and a pianist and although I don't find I have any memory troubles, by the end of the day I'm extremely tired since going gluten-free. I'm considering teaching English next year instead because of it. There are just so many evening committments and having concerts and competition after a long days work is killing me since...
  24. I just politely decline and usually people feel so sorry for me the sympathy makes me feel better:) Plus, I think of all the calories they're eating that I'm not!!!! LOL
  25. Thanks, all. I think I will try Lexapro. To whomever asked, yes my anxiety/depression is related to Celiac. I never suffered from it until going gluten free...weird, huh?
