We've already been to the ENT, 4 times already. He refuses to put tubes in. I am calling on Monday to get a second opinion because EVERYONE even the pediatrician was like "you need to put tubes in his ears". I am OVER this. And we cut out milk but he woke up this morning with a fever AND barfed on me. Nice. Unrelated to previous problems, now he's sick...

Thanks guys! I went to the pediatrician today, he prescribed a quarter tab of dramamine before getting in the car for errands. He said that it's more than likely not the gluten-free stuff, but rather the major quantity of fluid in his ears. He said it sloshes, makes him dizzy, and then he throws up. I lined my seats with towels, his seat is in the middle...

Oh my goodness Kareng....UGH! It was pretty bad yesterday, I was just running around getting errands done, we came home, he had a snack and then it came back all over my car. And his PBJ. And his cookie. And his milk. Luckily, it was mostly on him but holy Mother Mary there was a lot for such a little guy. Good thing College prepared me for this haha. ...

I don't know if this counts, but my 2 year old has been getting sick randomly for the past month. It began as carsickness and for the most part stays there (yesterday it was like I had carted a tiny drunk around in my backseat- it was an epic mess). He did not start getting carsick until we all went gluten-free, and most times he has gotten sick has been...

That's cool that you guys were both able to conceive after being diagnosed! I am waiting for bloodwork to come in, but I am still leaning towards the ovarian cyst. Also, I would duct tape that baby in there, I am NOT having a baby without my husband. I am too stubborn LOL. I dunno, we'll find out this next week (bloodwork won't be back til Monday and... -
ARCHIVED Biggest Obstacle In Coping With celiac disease
K8ling replied to Mr.GF's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Genius. And will be mandatory when I open my totally gluten free/ Allergy friendly restaurant after my husband retires. They'll have mandatory gluten-free/Celiac training, as well as education in the BIG 8. Too bad i have to wait 20 years to do it lol -
I just made up an "Imma Own It" dance. My toddler is now doing it. It's like the cabbage patch with some washing machine and lawnmower tossed in. And my son just added booty shaking. While dancing sing "I've got celiac disease and I OWN THIS ?!#*$!! All you wheat eaters can eat on your own! Imma eat all my awesome gluten-free goodies!!" Yeah I know it...

ARCHIVED Is There A gluten-free Bun In The Oven?

My doctor called today, apparently he ran a pregnancy test "just to check" and the results were "inconclusive". He said that after a celiac disease diagnosis and treatment, it isn't uncommon to have a rise in fertility (which makes sense to me because I'm not torturing my body anymore). He had me go in for more bloodwork today and said it could be from an... -
ARCHIVED Sad About Communion Today
K8ling replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Our priest ordered me special gluten-free wafers so I could do communion. He blesses it with the rest and I just go to him first and get the first sip of wine. It just takes some orchestration. -
mmmm I want a cheeseburger now. Guess I am picking up some Kinnikinnik rolls tomorrow too lol

You just need to tell her that YOU KNOW what you can and can't eat. And if she doesn't want you to eat your food? TOUGH. You have to do what is best for you, and if that means hurting a few feelings then it has to happen. I just learned this and am finding my "good food" voice (and using it too yay!!). It feels like she's also a bit of a control freak since...

HAHAHA I am officially going to "sweet" her to death, I love that term!!! . I sent a Thank you card this morning. Husband just said I was "waging maternal warfare".

Oh my goodness, I am going to Macon tomorrow (about a 25 minute drive) to buy a case of Udi's. I need some grilled cheese and CAN'T with the Kinnikinick (did I spell that right??). I was so depressed. So Udi's? Here I come!!!

well lets not get crazy now, I think she was more open HOWEVER once she has to handle the butt pain of cooking for me in a gluten kitchen, we may backslide a bit. But yes, VAST improvements!!

ARCHIVED Is Coffee The Problem
K8ling replied to Wp1234's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I drank coffee like a madwoman after my son was born and...well...it was causing a lot of problems I didn't even connect. I suggest switching to tea (I drink Earl Gray in the morning, green the rest of the day) and at least seeing if it helps. -
ARCHIVED Biggest Obstacle In Coping With celiac disease
K8ling replied to Mr.GF's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
OTHER PEOPLE and their skepticism/stupidity/difficulty. Also assuming that CC is no biggie. Another issue is playdates. And not being able to eat ChickFilA however I am slowly coming to terms with this -
I have one because when my husband is deployed and I am at school, I got one from Laurens Hope and it makes my husband feel so much better knowing I am taken care of if I can't speak. Also, it's cute and I can wear it with everything (although I DO like that Medic Alert has all the info on file all the time. I also have asthma so it helps to facilitate...

This happens to me if I get glutened. My husband says I look 5 months pregnant. Usually as soon as I *ahem* get cleared out It goes away. Your intestines are inflamed, and your body is confused, give it some time. Hope you feel better!!
