A friend of ours got a tongue piercing yesterday and the instructions where: Rinse with Listerine No bread, no beer, nothing with wheat or grains in it, but rice is ok So, I go, "well, that's a gluten free diet" And they go, "yeah, that's the word 'gluten'. So I go, "did they say why?" and they go, "it's been making peoples' tongues...

So, I was watching the Food Network show today called The Best Thing I Ever Ate, or something like that. They were showing all these yummy things and it occurred to me that lots of them were gluten-free. So, y'all might want to check out that show when it's on. They had some good things on there. Also, I remembered that we used to make this and it...

How was your Fourth? Mine was fine and nice and relaxing. We did fireworks, had tacos and tequila, watched a very unscary scary movie, did fireworks. Watched fireworks, went to a Fourth party, I slept in this morning until 10:30! I couldn't believe it! Didn't have to babysit for all three days of the long weekend, so I got to actually play and relax...

ARCHIVED All Tests Were Negative, But I Can't Eat Gluten
conniebky replied to Kay DH's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. I've been sick since February - BOOM! outta nowhere I cannot tolerate gluten. Like, over night! Tested negative for celiac. Can't eat gluten. I've just come to the conclusion, with A LOT of help from the people on this board, that if it makes me sick, I ain't gonna eat it. The people on this board have told me time and time again, your body... -

OMG! You have class, lady, cuz I'da gone hillbilly on his butt. What in this world was he thinking? I'm a ghost hunter and we USED TO meet at different restaurants to go over findings, cases, etc., and we finally had to stop for these very same reasons. I just can't for the life of me figure out why in this world a restaurant doesn't... -
ARCHIVED What And How Do You React To Foods?
conniebky replied to T.H.'s topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Your post makes a lot of sense to me. I know that there's other things that have nothing to do with gluten that are giving me reactions, but I can't figure out what they are. There is no testing where I live except for food, which I passed with flying colors and molds and grass which I also passed with flying colors. Personally, I think those skin... -
ARCHIVED Is It All In My Head?
conniebky replied to torimuse's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just last week, I think! I was tested negative for celiac, but I can eat no gluten and that's a fact. And, no, it's not all in your head and I hate that it makes so many people feel like that. -
Oh wow, thank you SO much for posting this. I'm going to print it out now, thanks so much!

I got me some of that pre cooked bacon that you don't have to refrigerate that just doesn't seem natural to me, but I've been lazy lately. I cooked it this morning and got a little dizzy, familiar feeling about an hour later, then I got blotches on my chin that itched.... It says, "cured with water, salt, sugar, smoke flavor, sodium phosphates...

Well, the PF Changs is VERY impressive. I took some pictures I'm going to post in the morning. Sure enough, it came on a round plate (which I took a picture of LOL). I'm going to post the pictures on my facebook page so y'all can see how much fun we had! I GOT SOME NEW PILLOWS! Yay for me! Calvin Klein, even! LOL, I've been wanting some good...

ARCHIVED Acquaintance Claiming There's A Cure For Celiac
conniebky replied to Coleslawcat's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My answer is E. In Kentucky, we do this: let's say, there's a purse you want, you ask your friend, I want it, I can afford it, it's cute, should I get it? We'll go.. D - meaning, all of the above, meaning yes. If it's "this guy is cute, but he's been in jail, and he hit his other girlfriend, but he's real nice to me, but he stole a car once, but it... -
On Monday at work, I ordered chicken and shrimp fried rice. It tasted a bit like Heaven, yes it did. Man, I wish I could cook like that at home. Their food is seriously good. I also am going to write an appreciation letter to Red Lobster because they were HONEST about it. My daughter asked first if they could accommodate a party that big, and they...
-
Oh, yeah, Patti! I was going to ask about that dessert, too, cuz I saw that on their online menu! Man, I will be SO nervous eating that! You've had it? It's ok?
-
So my daughter called Red Lobster and asked if they "have gluten free food". Dude goes, "uh, no", and she goes, "well, broiled fish has flour on it?" and he goes, "uh, I think they 'paint' something on it before they send it to us so, we can't guarantee that it's gluten free unless you buy a live lobster from the tank". Well, when I was six, I was...

I think my mom who is lactose intolerant and bread is the only thing she can still enjoy is gluten intolerant, but I don't bring it up cuz she loves to bake and it's really all she enjoys. Milk takes more things out of your diet than gluten does. She still gets VERY sick at her stomach at least once a week and says, "I guess some kinda milk got into... -
You can make really good french toast with gluten-free bread, and that's yummy and satisfying. Ice cream works for me, too. If you keep getting depressed, a doctor can help with that. It sounds like you're on a very bad merry go round.

Love those Rice Krispy treats, the ones in a box at the store....you know, in the blue box. So yesterday I went to the grocery and got one box of gluten-free pasta, a pack of cookies, and one other gluten-free thing I can't remember. That was $18.00. The cookies were $6.00, man they REALLY good, though....They are Glutino (my favorite gluten-free...

funny you said that, because we've been talking about getting me allergy tested, but it seems to be expensive and hard to "get at" around here. When I told my mom, she goes, "Well, there's your wheat skin allergy test - you just saved yourself a lot of time trouble and money." -

ARCHIVED Can We Talk About Body Temperature Regulation?
conniebky replied to GlutenFreeManna's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I got "hot flashes" that last 2-3 hours when glutened. I sweat and my hair gets nasty and all that, and it lasts for a long time. It's in the 90-100's here, too, and I'm way used to it, but when I ingest gluten, I sweat really bad.
