I had joint and muscle pain that lessened for me after about 6 months-8 months. However I also had to cut out soy to see a big improvement in my joint pain. I agree with the others about doing some less intense excercise for a while. Swimming is a really great low impact excercise if you have access to a local pool. Thanks, I haven't found one yet, but I'm looking. I've done hotels successfully by just bringing my own food and only eating banana and hard boiled eggs from the breakfast buffet. Wow, the number of people on this board avoiding soy is much higher than I was expecting. I avoid soy because hypothyroidism runs in my family and I have noticed when I eat soy my joints hurt more and I feel run down. Also soybean oil gives me migrains sometimes. My Kroger has a "diet food" aisle withe some gluten-free foods, but the gluten-free King Arthur's flour is not in that aisle, it's in the baking aisle right in the middle of the regular bags of flour. I used their bread mix yesterday to make hamburger buns. I no longer have the box but it listed rice flour, tapioca stach and potato starch as well as some "conditioners". I'm fairly certain it doesn't have brown rice, just plain rice flour. I remember because I looked at the box to see if I could make a similar mix for less by buying the separate flours... -

You can't "kill" the gluten like you can kill germs. Since it's a protein you would have to burn it to break down the protein (which obviously doesn't work with a countertop, but I have heard you can get rid of gluten in a cast iron pan by heating it at really high temps). There is not a lot of research on this, but I will tell you my experience. When I tried to conceive I had 3 miscarriages in less than 3 years. I have both the yellow and the devils food cake mixes here and they do not have soy listed in the ingredients. They do have a disclaimer that says "may contain soy ingredients". These were boxes that I bought on closeout sale at Food Lion. I wonder if they really have soy flour and they closed them out because the "may contain soy" was a misprint? Argh... -
