  1. Sending love and long distance hugs.
  2. Ohh Poor Baby Miss Cranky Pants. This is all so annoying at times, isn't it? I feel for you Momma. (I've got a raging "atypical dermatitis"- or some such BS diagnosis- and it is just awful) Perhaps you could use a little mind over matter. I have read posts here where people write about how much BETTER they felt when pregnant. Start a thread asking...
  3. If I lived in NYC- I would see Dr. Leo Galland- Integrative Medicine MD. Google him-he has written a lot of articles, couple of books, has a website and seems to look at the whole patient. That being said- I have only read his work and can't recommend him personally. But, I would definitely check him out if I were living in the city. I have considered...
  4. I am soooooo jealous.
  5. Anyway, I'll keep all of you posted, since I am going to be insanely careful now (although I am DYING for some Mellow Mushroom so I'll do that tomorrow if the nausea abates). The kid keeps poking my stomach and saying "mommy? baby? frow up? HAHAHAHAH!!" and trying to jump on me. Gotta watch him lol. What is Mellow Mushroom?
  6. Our littlest Charlie is short for Charlize. If you need more for your list.
  7. (tee hee)
  8. Thanks guys. I was thinking Wheatena. I'll have more ideas as time goes on- poor K8Ling.
  9. YEAH! CONGRATS! I get to name her.
  10. Gotta dissolve it in water. I use one teaspoon per 8 oz. Let me know if it works for you. Maybe we should post this as a separate GERD/acid reflux thread. For all those who suffer from the same curse.
  11. Unfortunately- I'd be looking at the split peas. Are they processed in a dedicated plant or do they run along the same conveyor belt as the barley and other glutenous items? Can you call the manufacturer? Congrats on the baby- may your pregnancy and delivery be easy and effortless.
  12. I believe in signs.
  13. Dr. Galland said it needs to be the powdered calcium. And I agree. The calcium pills didn't work for me. I use ALL ONE which is a calcium/magnesium powder. Makes sense- they add calcium to Tums- which are chewed not swallowed whole. People tease me for carting around my bottle of white sludge- but it works. My GERD/acid reflux was awful- couldn't eat...
  14. And here's a GREAT natural "cure" for the symptoms of acid reflux, GERD and mild nausea. Powdered calcium/magnesium supplement in water. Dr. Galland recommended this and pointed out that many antacids are advertised as, for example, Tums with calcium. The calcium closes the valve and helps keep things from sneaking out giving you gas, burning, etc...
  15. I was on the little purple pill- Nexium- for four years. As I became sicker and sicker, my Gastro suggested taking two per day. I told her that I was too young to start this vicious cycle of increasing meds to treat symptoms and not treat the cause of the symptoms. That's the short version. I read up on the effects of long term PPI use and was shocked...
  16. Pregnant
  17. I respectfully reserve the right to change my response upon further data collection in my food journal. Until such time- I'll have to say: Depending on either the type of gluten ingested or the amount (although I have not narrowed this to an exact science)- vomiting before the meal is over OR D within one hour of the meal lasting for several days...
  18. Hmmmm. I read somewhere- I think maybe Dr. Galland- that cinnamon gum helps an upset tummy so I have been chewing Big Red for several years now whenever I start to feel random nausea. And it works. Actually, it works really well for me. Guess it stimulates your digestion. I was visiting a friend who lived off espresso from the moment he arrived at his...
  19. sending good nrg your way. i recognize your exhaustion, frustration, and plight. hope you are feeling better tonight and get the support team/doctors you need. i know the good forum members will be happy to help you figure this out. your parents love you and they'll be ok when you're ok. it's in their job description to worry. rumor...
  20. The good news is- you can go gluten free again and you never need to test yourself again! I have seen several posts here about face lotion. I believe many people like Neutrogena, Dove, and Garnier products. Do a search and you will see others have posted the same query. Email the companies if the thread is old. Products sometimes change their formulas...
  21. Almost immediately- or so it seemed- after going gluten free- everyone started commenting on how much weight I was losing. I was still too tired to exercise- so it wasn't really weight I was losing- it was the bloat. I am able to wear clothes that previously felt like I was being suffocated whilst wearing. Even my face is thinner. My rings aren't so tight...
  22. I, too, am soooooo sick of people's cavalier attitude with my health. I have been sick off and on most of the summer. I am desperate to feel well and after having my first taste of it in June- I am willing to live off sticks and twigs if that's what it takes. I was cc'ed one week ago Monday and still have lingering symptoms. We aren't doing this to...
  23. YEAH!!!! I love reading all the "success" stories and hearing the happiness and joy when people's symptoms are lessened or even alleviated.
  24. I haven't tried it yet- but they have it in all three Targets near me. I love websites with product locators- don't you?
