  1. I saw that- wonder if she received enough responses "educating" her about gluten free and this recipe is a minor form of damage control? I am surprised after all of her visits to the View that her peeps don't know EH is gluten-free. They know not to hand Whoopi a glass of champagne. Maybe her peeps are all Democrats.
  2. yikes! hope you are getting some rest. feel better.
  3. Open Original Shared Link assuming you have time to assemble the ingredients and bake these yummy buns......
  4. Just got a visual of someone in full Haz Mat gear in the mosh pit.
  5. Hope you feel better soon. The age old question- stick with a bland diet or venture out and risk getting zapped if you let your guard down for one minute. SO annoying. Perhaps we can get a law passed that companies have to label their products as to when the formulas/ outside vendors were last changed. Wouldn't that be lovely?
  6. I went back to Bikram yoga this summer after several years. Big emphasis on just staying in the room. I was filling out the form and trying to explain to the teacher that I was a little "delicate" and if I left the room suddenly- please just let me leave quietly. He pressed for more info- I told him I had Celiac disease and he said "My Mom has that. I get...
  7. PS- Yesterday, I responded to someone else's inquiry about acid reflux/GERD. Look for the post- I have horrible problems with GERD/acid reflux for the last 10 plus years. I follow Dr. Galland's protocol for treatment and it has really helped me. The most important thing I found is his recommendation for powdered calcium. I put a scoop in a one liter water...
  8. I am so glad you came to this forum for support. Everyone here understands- they get it- unfortunately. I have had a slow start to recovery. It has been getting me down as I have been stuck thinking about all the years I have lost and life experiences I have missed. Not to mention the financial woes. So I come here. And I read all the stories...
  9. I had horrible acid reflux/GERD for years. (I was also throwing up every day and gaining weight) I was eating at least a bottle of TUMS everyday. Went to a Gastro in the summer of 2005. Had the endoscopy. She told me my stomach was very red and she put me on Nexium. It sort of helped- for a while and then it got worse again. She wanted me to take 2 pills...
  10. I so needed to read this. I have been getting more than a little down in the dumps about still being tired, short of breath, etc. It's nice to know it will continue to get better and to have a place to come where that knowledge is reinforced. I am very happy that you are all feeling better and enjoying the simple things in life. I am looking forward...
  11. I also have very dry skin and my fingers are cracking now too. I use: shea butter- slather it over my body before bedtime- put on old flannel jammies. herbecin lotion/cream during the day- i emailed them and they said they are gluten free. i used to use bag balm- i haven't checked to see if they are gluten free. i'd bring a tub to the movies...
  12. Sorry I can't help you with the liver detox. I am sure someone else will pop up with some great ideas. I don't know what it was with the UltraInflamX and the Sustain- but they both got me. Cross contamination? Who knows? Sometimes I just throw up my hands and say "next." Try the Intestinew. There used to be a really nice lady with an oh so pleasant...
  13. My last acupuncturist gave me several Metagenics products and I couldn't handle any of them. I tried Sustain, UltraInflamX and Spectrazyme. Several months before I was diagnosed, she gave me SpectraZyme. I had horrible D for almost 2 months. I mentioned this to her every week. After I was diagnosed, I asked her if any of her supplements were causing the D...
  14. I used to run a Med-Spa. While reactions were rare- they can be really awful. And they are right there on your face where everyone can see them, so if you don't want people to know you are having work done, you'll have to hibernate for days or maybe even weeks. And don't try it for the first time before a big event. No matter who you see- carefully research...
  15. This thread popped up at the perfect time for me. (dang I love this forum) I was (finally) diagnosed with severe asthma this past September. Interestingly enough- it is better since going gluten free and I am so encouraged to read that it may go away completely in a few months. I have 2 inhalers- Dulera 2X/day and Proventil for use before exercise or...
  16. They have it at several Target's in and around Los Angeles. Haven't tried it tho'. It was in the $4.00 range for a small box.
  17. Thanks for volunteering!
  18. thanks Ravenwoodglass- I appreciate the help as I am still a bit foggy
  19. oooohhhhhh lavender scented baby body wash- just put it on my Target list.
  20. My "whatevers" were "whoevers" and I am hoping that I have addressed the situation. My 86 year old Mom lives with me and it was/is a huge learning curve for her. She has just gotten the separate shelves in the frig concept. Bless her heart. She is trying. I also had to deal with "one of those" who accused me of being obsessive when I caught her using peanut...
  21. I read so many positive things about Naturethroid- that's why I switched. People seem to love it. My ND said to give this dosage two weeks before I try a higher level. Should I wait longer? I'll go back to see her in 4-6 weeks for another blood test. Should I wait until then? I understand that as I am still fairly new to gluten free living (and had to remove...
  22. Thanks for the feedback Roda. I will get a copy of my tests from now on so as to stay up on my levels. I am sooooo looking forward to feeling some pep!
  23. Just got diagnosed (officially) August 23rd. They gave me Levo- I did some research and asked for Naturethroid at my follow up visit last Friday. I forgot to get a copy of my test results- oops- too sleepy- even tho' I wrote myself a reminder note. I am still exhausted. Any tips for adjusting my dosage? Adjusting my gluten free diet? Lifestyle? Prayer...
  24. I don't have any experience with this- but just wanted to say: You're a GOOD MOM.
  25. I have an extremely suspicious rash which comes and goes , itches and burns, and had a very quick "positive" response to an iodine patch test. I have been to several Dermies and always get the blanket generic diagnosis- have some cream- come back in 4 weeks spiel. I would love to find a new Dermie. Anyone got a doctor they like? love? L.A.? South Bay? Maybe...
