  1. Is clear Sambuca Romana gluten-free? TIA!
  2. I am 35 also and I was just dx'd 2 weeks ago. I wasn't having GI symptoms at all. I was just having really bad left sided pain just under my rib cage (starting in Oct 2009, prior to that I thought I was super healthy). I have always been anemic too, never figured that one out until now. I had the TTG IGA test and the total serum IGA. The TTG IGA...
  3. Mine did the iron/ferritin/B12/Vit D testing and checked liver/pancreas functions.
  4. Well, if you studied it in college you must know that the human kidneys of a healthy adult can process up to 15 liters of water a day (507 ozs) so I am drinking far less that what is considered "very" dangerous. I am not looking to get into an argument with you, but I also know that I am not being dangerous with the amt of water I am drinking. Also...
  5. Does anyone know if Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Margaritas are gluten-free?
  6. That test is interesting. It seems kine of like the peanut allergy- that is on the rise too. The more and more people I tell about my diagnosis, the more I heard how everyone knows people with it. It is more common that I thought.
  7. HAHA, it's really not that much! I sit at my desk all day at work and just keep refilling my water bottle (20 oz) and then I usually drink a few glasses at night! I do workout 4-5 days a week. Never once did I get sick. Also- I don't like pop or juices so water to me tastes great.
  8. Thanks! Good to know
  9. It seems like a lot of people are in the group "banned" on their profile? What is up with that? I guess they were posting bad stuff or something? I have noticed it quite a bit?
  10. Thanks for posting this! My husband and I are going into NYC this weekend and we are going to try one of these restaurants!
  11. Now that I have been diagnosed by blood and biopsy, how often do I need to go to get blood drawn/checkup? What has your experience been? I have an appt 9/17 to go over the full results, but I doubt he will do more blood then. Do you go a couple times a year? What blood tests (aside from celiac and iron levels) should I have tested? Thanks!
  12. Well, as I am sure you know soy sauce has tons of sodium so that could account for your dry lips/thirst. Your post caught my attention with the dry lip thing though- I was just dx'd with celiac by blood test a few weeks ago and then today I had my endoscopy. Over the last year or so, I have had to put on lip balm everynight before bed b/c my lips have...
  13. Hi Adab8ca- how was your procedure? Mine was totally fine! I cannot believe how much easier it was than I thought it was going to be! I was in at 6:45 and out by 8:30! I took the day off work today, but I think I could have totally gone in! As for the results- he told me he saw "scalloping" of the walls of the intestine and told me to start the diet...
  14. I have my biopsy tomorrow too!! My symptoms sound a little similar to yours. I don't seem to have the classic GI symptoms either. I have really bad left side rib pain/inflammation- the last 2 ribs are super painful- when the Dr pressed on the bone last week it hurt really bad. I sometimes have some stomach pain, but not very often. I can't wait to just...
  15. Not really and I probably drink 150 oz of water a day. I never have to get up in the night probably only go 3x during the day at work. I think I have a big bladder!
  16. I have this exact problem and I was told it was "costochondritis". My left lower ribs stick out and it feels like there is a lump on the lower rib. It is very painful and hurts to lay on my left side and stomach. I have had XRAY's, CT scan, and Ultrasounds and nothing shows up. I was randomly dx'd with celiac 2 weeks ago because I went to a rheum for...
  17. There are no incidences of it in my family at all.
  18. Hello- my TTG level was 38 and my lab said <5 negative. I have my biopsy Tuesday morning- did you have a lot of intestinal damage? I am so nervous about that. I have this horrible pain in my left side (just under the ribs and wraps around the the lower back). Does a higher TTG level indicate more intestinal damage?
  19. Thanks everyone! This should be interesting to see how I react to it! The concert isn't sold out, so I am just going to wait till that day to see how I feel. My husband is taking me so I won't be driving at all that day.
  20. I have my endoscopy next Tuesday at 7am, but I want to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert that evening. Do you think I would be able to do that the same day or should I plan to just rest that entire day? They told me I will need to be at the center for 2 hours total, but I was thinking after that I'd go home and nap in the early afternoon. Just not sure...
  21. Last week my rheum ran the TTG test and it came back positive at 38 (normal <20). Then I had an appt with my GI Dr and he ran something called an immunoglobulin (IGA) test and that came back totally normal. I have my biopsy next Tuesday at 7am, but wondering why the IGA test would be normal since the other was positive for celiac? Anyone know...
  22. Did you have the celiac panel blood testing done? As far as symptoms go- I suffer from the left sided upper ab pain- just under the lower left ribs on the side. Sometimes it is a sharp pain, sometimes dull, but always there. It goes around the back and sometimes feels lower on the back also. I was dx
  23. I was told no. I had an ANA test a couple months ago and it was negative so when I got the celiac DX I was shocked, but the Dr said that ANA doesn't test for celiac.
  24. Mine is 60 and I was just dx'd with celiac by blood test 2 weeks ago. I guess that hadn't gone down yet.
