  1. Its not in your head. People just don't take this stuff seriously. It is absolutely maddening! If you can not extract yourself from the situation then keep working on the food, see if you can get a meeting with the Chancellor to see if he/she would be willing to get the ball rolling for you. You are a pioneer and what you do now will pave the way for all...
  2. Oh I can imagine it. I live it every time I leave my house it seems like. (I'm a hermit and live in the country/work from home ) You are getting sick from being so close to that bakery, flour tends to linger in the air for some 4-6 hours and it coats everything it touches. I'm willing to wager that your adrenals are mega exhausted like mine...
  3. Thanks for the Reputation Point! What is it and what does it do? LOL

Malkov Prima Donna? Finally, my destiny revealed!!!

  4. Do some research into a leaky gut, or leaky gut syndrome. Until the cracks in your intestinal wall are closed you will just keep getting more and more food allergies. Once healed you can likely get everything but gluten and dairy back. Gluten is such a bear that it masks the other problems going on. Once removed we can "hear" our bodies for the first...
  5. You guys are great! Thank you!

ARCHIVED Is It In My Head?

I went out to Cali in my search for a competent doctor. I found a 3. Boy what a world of difference they are already making for me and my husband. If you don't mind traveling (Their cost is very low compared to other doctors) you may want to check them out. Open Original Shared Link They also have a blog that is very informative of the latest...
  7. My little black cloud went away at about the three month mark, however I also have a relatively stress free life so others mileage may vary. The world is so much brighter without that constant shade of grey, life really feels wonderful and worth living. Now one of my glutening symptoms is depression for a day or two afterwards...but at least I...
  8. Mama Melissa: I am in the same boat, I am allergic to everything I eat right now. My Doc says that once I heal my leaky gut and support/fix my poor adrenals all of my food issues with the exception of gluten and casein, will go away. So far he has been dead on with everything he has told me or had me do and so I trust him in this. My recommendation...
  9. I buy organic as much as possible. I don't like pesticides seeping into my body and the taste is not even a comparison. But it is $$$ It kills us at the grocery store. But I absolutely do not want to compromise on this. This is my health. I do without in other areas to make it happen. Plus in the long run it is saving me money and suffering. It...

    ARCHIVED Doctor Search

Open Original Shared Link Try finding a Functional Medicine Doctor in your area. They will treat the whole her and should know about Gluten and Celiac and how to handle recovery, you may still want to ask when you call though as I can't be 100% sure for every Doc on there. Best of luck!
  11. I've been sort of avoiding soy for years because it interferes with my thyroid meds. But now I avoid it because I read up on it and the processing makes me want to in addition to the thyroid issue.
  12. Seriously? What is wrong with people? I think the gluten has gone to their brains (In all seriousness) and made them crazy.
  13. is on the road to recovery.

  14. I've often thought of dishing out a glutenous item in front of those who don't get it and before giving it to them taking out a quart of motor oil and dumping a bit in it and mixing it around and then handing it to them. They of course wouldn't eat it, its poison. Just like gluten. I wonder if such a shock tactic would get through. I have a...
  15. What a kind and caring sibling you are. Has she ever seen a functional medicine doctor? They tend to be way more up on things and knowledgable then the mainstream docs. Here is a link to a site that tells you more and helps you find them locally. They look at the whole you and use a combination of traditional medicine and holistic. Open Original...
  16. This stuff is seven kinds of awesome. I can have pizza again! Huzzah!
  17. It helps me to look at gluten as a poison, not something edible. As though every pie, every slice of bread or pizza has had motor oil dumped in it and I simply pity the poor folks who are eating it and not realizing all the damage it is doing to them yet. That is what I find hard. Knowing what I do and having to watch so many people suffering needlessly...
  18. If he goes 100% gluten-free with you there is a better than good chance that he will discover he is also unable to handle Gluten. It just takes a different route with him, perhaps a subtle route like insomnia or brain fog or muscle twitches. He will inevitably get accidentally glutened and that will likely tell him for sure. Just keep an eye on it. I...
  19. Haha! Nope, Jacob actually kinda freaks me out! Well, they all do!

  20. Thanks for the heads up on Caffe Naturally! It is nice to see that there are restaurants starting to open up in the area. A trip to Green Bay may be in order one of these days. Also wanted to let folks know about this FB group: Open Original Shared Link Worth liking if you are an FB user.
  21. Agreed.
  22. New Grist is awesome! Glad to see that they are doing so well!
  23. I would imagine that they will be fine outside. As long as the coons don't make off with em! They're bandits you know!
  24. Cauliflower is a goitrogenic vegetable, along with brocolli, spinach, kale and a number of others that I like. But with Hypothyroidism these things interfere with the thyroid and should be avoided. I had broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach in a stir fry not too long ago and my lips literally turned blue. I was freezing cold for about an hour after I...
  25. I know what you mean. It sucks to get Glutened when you are trying so hard to avoid it and it sneaks in! We should all move to a single State and make it all gluten-free.
