  1. I am gluten, soy, and casein free. I was really really craving something sweet and chocolatey. I stirred a heaping tablespoon of Hersheys cocoa powder with a tablespoon of sugar into a large mug of plain coffee. It's REALLY good. So even us gluten-free, cf, soy free people can enjoy a hot chocolate/flavored coffee type of drink.
  2. I am wondering if anyone knows why the reaction to gluten lingers for a while. First the gas and stomach issues, mucus,D, joint pain, anxiety...etc....then I get a massive headache then C then finally cold sores all over my face. This all takes about 2 weeks and then I am good to go until the next time and it all repeats. Just wondering why it all is so...
  3. Why does this topic keep coming up? What is all of the confusion about it?
  4. How long ago did you have the subway? It can take a few weeks to get over being glutened. Subway isn't a gluten free friendly place. They touch bread all day. They grab the bread and grab lettuce with the same hands over and over. I would imagine that they hav e cross contamination issues.

    ARCHIVED Chili Beans

Hey fellow super sensitives! I was wondering if any of you have had luck with Bush's mild chili beans. They say gluten free on the can but you know how that goes sometimes. Should I stick with dry beans and make my own or would plain canned beans be ok? Any certain brands? I'm wanting to make some chili. Thanks
  6. Grapefruit, left over baked potato and coffee.
  7. I'm sorry that you are not feeling well. I have been at this for 2 years and the best advice that I can give you is to avoid all processed gluten free foods. Avoid dairy and soy. You may not have been sensitive to salt or ketchup but the oil that you used to make the fries. Do you have a gluten free home? Maybe you are getting cross contamination...
  8. I'm the exact same way.
  9. Thanks. I'll check those out if I can even find them in my tiny town. I know that all cooking oils are gluten free. I am just looking for what would taste best.
  10. Ok, so it turns out that I am very intolerant of olive oil. It sends me running to the bathroom. I have been making homemade chips and popcorn with the olive oil and although I like it, I can't use it anymore. Would canola oil be a good oil to use in place of the olive oil? I can't live without my homemade chips! What is a good brand to buy? Wesson or...
  11. Thanks for the help! I will be buying some tomorrow.
  12. Pack a great picnic lunch and either eat before or after the zoo. Find a nice park and enjoy the weather. As far as the pizza place, skip it all together. Why put yourself through that?! As far as being hungry at the zoo, stick a banana or an apple or something in your purse. While you are there, buy a soda or something.
  13. Anyone know of any soy free canned tuna that can be bought in a regular grocery store? Thanks!
  14. I'm coming off a glutening and I have a massive headache. I've been searching online and am finding conflicting info. Are name brand Advil and Tylenol both gluten free? Thanks!
  15. So sorry that you are sick! Very strong mint tea helps with the gas. It helps to get some of it out. Feel better!!
  16. Thanks....I guess its the Lactaid milk........again...Gosh, dairy is so much harder to give up than gluten for me! I got bloating, gas and a headache...I thought Lactaid was suppose to help so I guess it really is casein. BUMMER! AGH.
  17. Trying to figure out what zapped me. Anyone had any issues with the gluten free rice krispies?

    ARCHIVED Cereal

Ok Ss's (Super Sensitives) tee hee I need some cereal. I have always been a big cereal person. Do any of you do ok with Chex cereals? I emailed them and they dont make them on dedicated equipment but have strict guidelines etc. The Pebbles line is on dedicated equipment and I'm not sure about the gluten free rice krispies. Any thoughts on these?
  19. Also......since when is making fun of people funny? I watched a few other of the new sitcoms. I heard penis and vagina and fat jokes. Not funny to me. TV is literally crap anymore.
  20. Thanks for the ideas everyone! I just remembered Jello too! Thats quick and easy .
  21. Thanks for the advice everyone. Reading this made me feel so much better. I am going to get a cute lunch bag and start packing my food. - I get tired of explaining when people ask me why I bring my own but I guess that beats starving. Thanks
  22. I saw that too. I actually was enjoying the show. I watched the first 2 episodes and then this was the third. They have lost me as a viewer. I wont watch again.
  23. Yesterday was my nephews Birthday party. My sister served take-out pizza's and cake and ice cream. Fine, I get it. It's a kids party and thats what he wanted. While they were eating, I excused myself and went to the bathroom and sobbed. This is getting to be a bit much for me. We live an hour from my sisters place. So it wasn't until 8PM when we got...
  24. I have a huge sweet tooth. I however can't have dairy or soy and the mixes like Betty Crocker and stuff all need butter. I am also allergic to nuts so Pamelas baking mix etc. is out. What are some desserts that I can make other than just plain fruit which is good but I want something else too. Thanks - i'm craving my old homemade cookies and muffins...
  25. This is a little bit off topic but what usually zaps me is something labeled as gluten free but when I eat it and get sick, I check the website and it's not dedicated equipment or they handle wheat in the facility. I recently called up General Mills after reacting to chex. They advertise like crazy in TV that it's gluten free. One would think wow, this...
