  1. Does anyone else have a gluten type reaction to canola oil? The last few times that I have had canola oil, I end up with severe D and bloating just like with gluten. I woke up with stomach pain and sores on my lips. Sounds like an allergic reaction. Anyone else?
  2. I am headed that way! I can't get an honest answer out of any of these companies. It's just not worth it to me. I will take health over beauty any day!
  3. If you are ok with corn, popcorn makes a great snack. Apples sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar are great. Lately, I have been making and eating a lot of crustless pumpkin pies. They are really good and easy.
  4. HA HA! Thanks for the laugh Irish! That was hilarious.
  5. I would go 100% all natural whole foods with nothing added and NO processed gluten free foods at all. I would stay away from all of the flours, pastas etc. Please check out the super sensitive celiac section of this forum. Several of us, myself included are very sensitive and have to avoid all of these packaged things, flours etc.
  6. Thank you! I am going to check into it.
  7. Wow, I would have never thought about the shoe rubber! I hear ya about the powdered gloves. So no more bananas, bisquick or BC. My ok foods keep getting shorter and shorter.
  8. Thanks for the info everyone. I am using Cover Girl clean makeup for sensitive skin and Maybelline shine free loose powder. Cover Girl says the foundation is gluten free. I can't get any answers out of Maybelline. I'll look into your suggestions..Thanks
  9. Thanks everyone!!
  10. Thanks for all of the great tips! Bactine really helped along with Vanicream and Vaseline.
  11. I hate Bath and Body works because of that. I had some soap that contained wheat gluten from there. Most of the lotions have oats.
  12. It happens. Unless one is affected with celiac or food allergies, they don't pay attention to the ingredients. Just be glad that you didn't eat it!!
  13. Yep, at night it itches like crazy especially on my back. Drives me nuts. Thanks for all of the tips. I read about Vanicream in another of your posts from awhile back. I bought some a few months ago and I just love it! Thanks
  14. From scratch - potato pancakes smothered in organic maple syrup.
  15. Shauna - Thanks so much for that link! I made them today and they were delicious and pretty easy to make. I smothered them with organic maple syrup. YUM! I don't know if you are ok with eggs but I mixed an egg into the potato mix and it really held it together.
  16. I have both of those in my bathroom! I will give it a try. Thanks!
  17. Whenever I get a bad glutening and as the digestive issues are resolving, I get intense fatigue and weakness. When that is subsiding, I get lovely pretty DH lesions all over my chin in the same place every time. They itch like crazy and then get scabby and burn. (hurts like hell) What can I put on theses? I am afraid of scaring. Would Vaseline help or Neosporin...
  18. I am pretty confident that my make-up is causing me problems. What do other super sensitives use for make-up or do you just go without? Also, what do you use for chapped lips? I am using plain old vaseline but i'd like something else.
  19. The reason that I asked about the bananas was because yesterday I tried one in my smoothie for breakfast and my left lung felt heavy. I wheezed a little and it felt like I had mucus in my lung or something but nothing came up when I coughed. It sounds similar to what happened to you. So you and me both..No more BC. (not a huge loss though..it's expensive...
  20. Just wondering how you all deal with the severe fatigue and weakness after a glutening when you have a million things to get done. I get weak waking up the steps when I am glutened. Is there anything to take or eat t help feel better or is it just time that helps.
  21. My gluten, soy and casein all cause similar reactions. I can not tolerate gluten free Bisquick or any of the Betty Crocker mixes. If they are not CC with gluten it has got to be the soy allergen warning on the box. The Bisquick and the Betty Crocker mixes are made in the same factory. The chocolate cake mix has soy flour in it. I think this is where...
  22. I'm sorry that you are going through this. I have been there myself many times and have gotten sick almost every time. I now bring my own food prepared by myself everywhere I go. It stinks to do that but it's better than getting sick. Do what you need to for you and your family. Hang in there! I think all of us here have been through this.
  23. Does anyone know if Cover Girl Clean Make-up foundation is safe. I am also trying to find into on Maybelline Shine Free Powder. I am thinking that one of these is CC'ed b/c I keep getting glutened symptoms on Mondays and the only time I wear both of these items is on Sat. and Sun. Does anyone know of any drug store make-up that is for sure gluten...
  24. I agree with the above poster! I have to avoid all processed gluten free foods. Maybe he is reacting to one of the ingredients in not necessarily gluten related. Soy or one of the gums or one of the flours in it. I hope he is better soon...poor guy!
  25. Thanks. I use to have a yeast infection every single month after my period. It was horrible. That went away totally when I went gluten free. I got one this time after 2 years because I was glutened pretty badly from CC at a restaurant. It was the first time that I had eaten out in 18 months. Never again! Not worth it! On another note, men are sooooo...
