Taco's are easy to make in that environment. Old El Paso is what we use. Spaghetti is easy. You can buy the sauce gluten free and the Quinoa pasta is indistinguishable from regular wheat pasta. My child had the endoscopy last month. We were all in a private room the entire time except for her when they wheeled her out for the endoscopy. She was tense so they gave her an anti anxiety pill. Her strep is a long story. End of September had terrible neck pain and went to ER and was dismissed. Week later labs for strep show positive over 300. Doctor said not to worry - no antibiotics. Have you seen the DGP test results. I think the 7 is out of range (at least on the one we had done) and was considered a positive. You might want to look at the ranges and double check. -

There is definitely the shock of being diagnosed as Celiac, but eating Gluten Free does become easier with time. My teen is Celiac and we've all gone gluten free for her. Anyone have trouble fighting a strep infection who is a Celiac. She had a positive rapid strep test. My child has a strep infection for now 5 days and still no better on antibiotics. Antibiotics have been changed and still not better. Going back to doctor again.

There are a number of forum members with positive biopsies and negative blood work. Did your doctor take biopsies? There are also multiple blood tests for celiac.

Living in a mixed household is hard. Especially beware of the condiments like butter and the kitchen counters. I believe the newest tests are the Deamidiated Gliadin Peptide (DGP IgA and IgG). It is called the Gliadin Test which is a very similiar name to the Anti Gliadin Test which is a completely different test. I hope you feel better. -

I can say my family member was negative for tTG IgA, EMA IgA, Anti Glidian Iga and IgG, genetic tests, but positive on both Deamidiated Gliadin Tests. -

An endoscopy requires that they take samples(6 or so) of the small intestine. Not all damage can be seen which is why a biopsy is required. -

Yes it was over 8. I was mentioning the old standard for normal TSH levels used to be 5 or so and then more recently cut to 3 or so. I'm upset no one mentioned that her TSH numbers were of concern and I find out by getting her labs and doing research on my own. -

CassP So you were diagnosed with Graves and Hashmito's with normal T4 and T3 but elevated TSH? I feel like I'm going crazy. Do doctors read labs and its crazy how difficult it is for patients to get them. Do doctors normally dismiss elevated TSH with normal T4? My teen was just diagnosed with Asthma but now I'm wondering if its the Thyroid causing... -

I was reading about thyroid last night. She's had 3 labs for thyroid and I was told they were all normal. Got my hands on the one from the hospital and the TSH levels were not normal. They were supposed to send the genetic testing but it wasn't in the package. It will probably take me another 6 weeks to get my hands on that. We are of Irish, German, English, Swiss, Scottish and American Indian heritage. -

It doesn't matter in terms of how you treat it whether its one diagnosis or the other, but I was just curious. The only difference I can see is with insurance purposes. I guess I'm just another scientific type on here who wants to know more than what is known. -

So if there is no Marsh level notated on biopsy but just those lymphocytes and you are missing the generally accepted genes but have two positive labs are you more likely to be considered Gluten Intolerant or Celiac?
