  3. For my hubby his health started to decline with joint pains (dx as Psoriatic Arthritis) and fatigue.(sleeping 20 hrs +!) He did used to complain of a 'burning ' stomach but it wasn't his worst symptom by any means.'D' was never a problem. He had anemia for many years. By the time of his dx of celiac disease neuro symptoms had also kicked in (burning...
  4. Absolutely - you HAVE to do whatever it takes. When hubby was on prednisolone (prescribed for his non healing celiac disease) his joints were marvellous!! - hubby used to say it was a shame he couldn't stay on it!! He's now on a weekly injection of an anti-TNF (a relatively new drug) for the PA and so far so good (ESR coming down )
  5. Mmmm - I wonder this too. My hubby was dx with Psoriatic Arthritis (similar to RA) 2 yrs before his dx of celiac disease. Unfortunately like you damage has been done (lost quite alot of range of movements in some joints - especially elbows ) but his 'flare ups' happen alot less and seemingly less severe. I can't help but wonder if he'd got his celiac...

  18. Hi Barb Firstly, you do NOT have to be underweight to have malabsorption (plenty people here were overweight!) It's very common for symptoms to continue for a good while after starting the diet (especially fatigue) - headaches also very common. My husband had negative bloods but went on to have a positive biopsy. He was age 40 yrs at diagnosis...

  23. Nicola Mmmmm, I've often thought having both conditions must be VERY hard and kind of takes all the fun out of food MORE SO than just celiac disease does. I can't Patti , for fear of getting busted by double entendre police!!! Ahhh, Naan bread....still gets hubby all wistful too (although he did experience it...
