    Hi,welcome to the board! I cannot help you with antigen tests as my husband(who's the coeliac) scored a negative-(coeliac was diagnosed by biopsy). Just wanted to point out that to be totally gluten free(which you definitely need to be as you have a dx of coeliac)you need to not only cut out Wheat and Oats but Barley and Rye too.     Hi,I'm from East London inUK. Getting off topic now but after the flowers have died down save the seeds and plant them in spring. They grow like wildflower!

    The flowers are called 'morning glory'. These grew in my garden in the summer(yes,it's took me that long to work out the digital camera!). The flowers only open in the morning(hence the name)-and judging from 'jersey angel's' post you grow them in the US too! Been tinkering with the computer for hours!Got there in the end

    I don't think 'gluten sensitivity' (as opposed to 'coeliac disease')evers goes away. From what I've read on these boards there are plenty who don't have the classic markers for coeliac(Dq2 +8)but know that they feel terrible when they eat gluten.     Just remember that to get a positive blood test you have to have been eating a full gluten diet for at least 6 weeks.It takes that long to produce the antibodies

    When my husband had his first biopsy it was said that all 'looked' normal. However the results of the biopsy showed extensive villous atrophy-that's when he got his diagnosis.     Spot on! Actually it's my husband who is the coeliac dx about 14 months ago. Around 6 months ago I joined him in going gluten-free to support him. Never thought I'd notice any difference-but wow,a lifelong condition of eczema cleared up in a week!     My husband was in a similar position,- after 6 months gluten-free ,no improvement,still 120lbs and so very weak he could hardly stand up unaided. My husband is now down to 5mg prednisolone from 40mg. It's been 14 months since dx,and very slowly he is now beginning to put some weight back on,and his energies have raised.He too get's very tired though...

    Probably stating the obvious here but could it be a lactose or casein problem? It's so hard constantly trying to work out where you've gone wrong(if at all) Obviously,if you continue to lose weight you will have to discuss this with your new doc(great find by the way!).     Regarding Oats-well my husband has steered well clear! I always think that oats would be contaminated anyway as it's grown with wheat. Of course some coeliacs do eat oats with no apparent ill effects. As my hubbie has been so very ill it's not worth the chance. Scientifically,I think the jury is still out on oats.     My husband had a big bowl of cereal('weetabix'!)with milk, Later in the eve he had one or two beers Bowls of cereal are a distant memory now as he's lactose intolerant too !

    Yes my husband had negative bloods(Ttg) but positive biopsy. He's been gluten-free for just over a year (still recovering) but much better

    Hi Lisa, Auto-immune diseases do run in family genes,but it doesn't have to be the same disease. For example my friend has crohns disease,his sister has M.S,and his cousin has an under active thyroid.All auto-immune diseases. Here's a good link about M.S,Good Luck Open Original Shared Link
