  1. Exactly! I do not understand how someone can "assume" anything about her diet or if she is compliant or if she is trying to get more money (she isn't. She was interviewed about this subject and she said that was not the issue. She wanted to keep her job, but if she could not meet the demands of the schedule, she wanted them to let her out of her contract...
  2. I suggest seeing a medical doctor if your rash is getting worse and spreading down your leg. It could be cellulitis--which is dangerous and you will want to rule that out.
  3. well, guys I have had enough turkey, so Chebe Pizza tonight with garlic oil, shallots, BACON! and 3 cheeses.and champagne (still celebrating birthday week) why not? I'm alive! I'm alive! and still baking....
  4. As far as I know, chiropractors do not diagnose or treat dermatitis herpetiformis. And when I had urticaria from gluten, the last thing I would have put on those sores was eucalyptis or peppermint, unless you want to feel like you are on fire. Open wounds do not respond well to those oils being applied directly to them. If it is better this morning...
  5. gotcha .......Alberta sizzles

  10. My very celiac-savvy GI doctor refers to this symptom/conditions list when evaluating and meeting with new patients. I know, because I printed it off and gave it to him ---and he was happy to have the handout. I had about 65 of those symptoms myself. Yes, that's right. And that's how I knew I HAD celiac. And to clarify, the list is adapted from Recognizing...
  11. Addy, where exactly "back east" is chicken and waffles a "thing".? I grew up In Boston and I never ate that once. Do you mean someplace a bit farther south, southeast perhaps? I am sure it is tasty??!!!.
  12. We NEED more totally gluten-free restaurants. We NEED franchises all over the country...no, the world. ..If I had the cash, I'd do it. I would make it happen...I wish I could..and we would all eat safely
  13. Sorry, sweets ((hugs)) DH is awesome for taking care of your dinner!! KUDOS for still retaining your sense of humor while glutened. Not easy, is it? And celiac--it ain't for sissies. Hope you feel well soon---and enjoy your next serving of bacon.

  15. I just thought Gracie learned how to work the iPad.
  16. I wish I could, K. They offered us a "birthday treat" (my BIL, my sister and I all have a B day this week--she is 63, he is 59 and I am... 39) I was too FULL from the squash soup and the salad with toasted pecans, blue cheese, grilled chicken. I would have had the macaroons. Maybe next week, when we pass her back
  17. Didn't you tell me your daughter brought home BACON flavored candy canes? Dinner tonight is stuffed peppers, but I feel compelled to drape bacon over the top for some reason........
  18. with poems like "Shall I compare thee to a Slab of bacon?" Yowzers and ditto. And if he knows how to make a BLT....and bring home the bacon.......well, you're all set, Bunz.
  19. You could write a bacon cookbook. I admit to having a can in the freezer, like my Mom does. I also admit to making our eggs in the bacon grease like my Mom does. Mom is 86 and healthy as a horse, works out at a gym 3X a week and walks 2 miles without huffing and puffing, therefore I conclude bacon is good for us.
  20. cheering.....Eat more bacon! eat more bacon!
  21. The hubs and I drive 2 hours (from NY, we cut through Vermont and go south) and sister and BIL drive an equal distance from the Boston area to meet for lunch and to "pass off" my mom for her visits to us. We chose a new place this time (last experience with the 99 was not good ) in a remote little town called Bernardston, Mass......and just check out this...
  22. I know that you know what I meant. and it sounds like maybe you're inviting us all to just build right next to your place. Karen, maybe we have our "secondary site"!
  23. I agree. Like Ba-con!! (I am not sure why bacon gets a bad rap from the medical community-- so many of us seem to think it is nourishing and healthy and so good.
