This issue has been discussed quite a bit on here and you are correct---there is no conclusion. Some sensitives are going to come on and say Yes!... and some sensitive types, like me, will say Nope! And someone will trot out the one lone "soy passing through to the egg" study from 2009 we have all seen. (there may even be another study done since...

Man, bleacher seats are the worst! I got the Knudsen brand Tart Cherry, K -- I found it in the grocery store in the "natural" aisle. I throw it in my smoothie or as Patti suggested, it's good in some seltzer with lime. I'm sore from stacking wood, so I hear ya on the "squawking joints". Damn you, inflammation!! (picture me with my fist raised dramatically... -
Copyrighted by IrishHeart 2011 first used in a conversation with EatMeat4Good. (she'll vouch for me) I call what I lived in Gluten Head Hell (will probably be the title of my book.) Cracked up my GI doc with that one. He asked if he "could use it". I said "Go for it dude" but give me props when you do. . (not really funny back then...

I say the same: never give up. Stay the course. I am slowly coming back from the walking dead and I have learned an awful lot in the last 2 years, too. I am still drinking the nettle tea. Maybe it takes longer for me to see results. I do some yoga as well -- and like you, I feel better--- and I will continue to try anything to reduce inflammation and... -
ARCHIVED What Is A Good Probiotic?
IrishHeart replied to AandGsmomma's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Lactobacillus GG (Lactobacillus G.G., strain ATCC 53103) is a bacterium that occurs naturally in the human digestive tract. This strain of bacteria was first isolated by two Boston scientists, Professors Sherwood Gorbach and Barry Goldin, who were searching for a strain of lactobacillus that could colonize the human intestine and thereby exert the beneficial... -

We loved the time Red had to stop eating bacon on "That 70s Show "and Eric kept eating it in front of him and taunting him with it..."mm,,,ba-con"--emphasis on the second syllable, as if he were French. Thanks to all this bacon chatter, tonight's dinner: Maple mustard chicken thighs with carmelized onion and BACON. Baked acorn squash we'll... -

There are many articles about neurological impairment, gluten ataxia and celiac. I think it may be both ---autoimmunity and the complications of long term UnDXed celiac disease and malabsorption. Many vitamin, mineral and amino acid deficiencies can cause memory issues.. I had so many of them myself for 3 horrible years and suffered what I call "gluten...

This is very encouraging, A--thanks. Actually, anyone I know who has gone paleo says they feel great for doing so. I'll stick with it--- and let you know. I appreciate you telling us how well you are doing. I remember when you first came on and at the time, we both still felt so poorly. We have made great strides! Healing happens. Edited to... -
You are sweet to worry, but in NYC, they really do the best they can. I have to say, NY really tried to anticipate the worst case scenario. They set up extra shelters, hon. I just read an article about this... "The Coalition for the Homeless, an advocacy group, lauds the city's efforts. The city has created extra storm shelters, and as the coalition...

Two I recommend based on my own experience with having to repopulate my gut with beneficial bacteria (I had no detectable "good guys" when tested upon diagnosis) are: (1) Culturelle (gluten-free and DF) because it contains lactobaccillus GG, which was studied extensively at Tufts Univ. and is a strain highly recommended by gastroenterologists (including... -
ARCHIVED My Whole Life Makes Sense Now
IrishHeart replied to julieghoulie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome...... and yes, your symptoms do indicate a gluten intolerance of some kind. I would suggest being tested for Celiac ASAP which requires you to be still consuming gluten. I am glad you feel better off gluten, but you state "I can't believe it is just this simple". Well, many people with celiac have complications and associated conditions and... -
Updated 11/1/12 by IrishHeart A list of symptoms and conditions associated with Celiac from the Univ. of Chicago Celiac Disease Center (adapted from Cleo J. Libonati's book Recognizing Celiac Disease) I had dozens of symptoms myself and found that most short lists do not include them all. This may help. http://www.curecelia...SymptomList.pdf

Thanks for saying this, Mommida. I had edited my post yesterday saying "Please give to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross" wondering if that was okay, but now, I wish I had left it. So, I'll say it here: Please, if you can, help out.
