Okay, you have fruit allergies IN ADDITION to a gluten problem --I see. That was not clear to me before this post. I thought you meant all food was "passing through you". Sorry. Losing food could very well be malabsorption, yes. IMHO I know how hard it is to feel this way and not be taken seriously. I think you are wise to have both procedures... -

Yes, that is what I was trying to say. But I see MUSHROOM has just posted, so I will not repeat it all. -

Tom, I did NOT discourage an endoscopy. I said she needs an endoscopy with BIOPSY so she can get an accurate DX. I agree she needs BOTH--colonoscopy and endoscopy with biopsy--if on the same day, all the better. I was trying to clarify that a biopsy will be a more accurate DX, that's all. -
I can also say this happens to me. That is exactly my "gluten tell". I follow the same pattern....I cannot sleep, I am "racy", pounding in my heart and in my head, I am "slow" and then, I feel pretty blue, somewhat anxious and I get quiet for a few days. (The gastro stuff is a "given". ) This is nothing like my personality and so it is a GIANT...

You are starting out with the wrong attitude. Gluten free does not mean tasteless. I make a really good hamburger bun! -

No milk....my meatballs have A SPLASH OF 1/2 AND 1/2 THOUGH -
not bad info, honey!!...it IS grown on corn, but it also grown on other medium...synthetic included. Pleas see my post above.

here is a rather "heady" discussion of X-gum Xanthan can be grown on SYNTHETIC medium---which is why a company can say it is "corn, wheat, dairy or soy free". My chemist hubs concurs Open Original Shared Link

Me too! I will post mine....but I suspect Love2Travel's sauce (or gravy, as the Italian Bostonians say) is similar to mine? -

sorry, Shroomie.... I just got my tomato-and--citrus and -spicy foods--eating ability back after 3+ years. -
Do not be sorry. It is corn free--if the company says it is. There are other mediums that xanthan gum is grown on ---soy, wheat, etc---and not everyone with a corn issue will react to it. That is why when companies say "corn free" --they probably mean it. Think they would risk a law suit if someone with a corn allergy ate their products with...

oh hon, you have so much to learn, but this thread is not the place...and Domino's gluten-free pizza is NOT the answer. It is not really gluten-free, for starters. There are gluten-free beers that are GOOD! Keep looking around the site and I promise you, you will find answers.

ARCHIVED Losing Hope...
IrishHeart replied to kswan08's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
No, hon...an endoscopy will NOT diagnose you....you need to be (1)eating gluten and (2) have a BIOPSY for a celiac DX. but you said you will not do this. This "fast loss of food"....This means you are not ABSORBING. Allergies are very different from food intolerances. **EDITED by IH 7/26/12 -

I have never heard of a Pot roast with "injected solutions" that contain wheat. This is a disturbing thought....can you tell us what product this was.... so we will know? thanks! -

Pasta Puttanesca (I have always loved the story behind this dish) It's full of bold flavors. The tomatoes, basil, & parsley from my garden...and ripe greek olives, garlic, EVOO, capers, anchovies...I do not even cook my sauce..it marinates in a bowl on the counter for a n hour or so. Just cook up the pasta and toss...outrageous. -
aw, thank you, sweets! My day will come, too! never say die. I am just glad you are okay!!

I can relate to that! A gluten challenge would kill me for sure. In that case, then you may not get a "proper" celiac DX...but if that does not matter to you, then go gluten-free and don't look back! -
me neither--my hubs found it...pretty neat, huh?? Good investment if you travel by car a lot.
