  1. I have had kidney stones and kidney infections at various times pre-DX and the pain is UNBEARABLE. I vomited, I was dizzy, and I had a fever. The stones have to pass...ugh. If you had either of those, I would think you would feel so bad, you would go to the ER. I mean, you cannot breathe or walk, it is ridiculously painful. That said, you describe...

  4. for what it is worth, I use After bite. We live in bugsville. There is no gluten in it as far as I know. If you are itching, it is likely the bites or you may be sensitive to the chemicals in the products. Celiac Disease is not an allergy and injecting gluten into the blood stream will not have the effect that gluten has on the digestive system...

  6. Well, given all the variables of testing --labs make errors sometimes --4 samples may not have been enough --he missed the areas that are affected sure, the biopsy could be "wrong" OR you have celiac, but not much villous atrophy (yet) OR you do, in fact, have NCGI. This condition causes many of the same symptoms as celiac. FWIW, Dr. Fasano...
  7. ...." he explains that with about 80 percent of celiac patients experiencing ongoing mucosal inflammation, the pill would provide a means to make the gluten-free diet more effective. It
  8. The Planter's peanuts are fine. They are a Kraft food, which will clearly display "contains wheat" if they do. http://www.gfoverflow.com/results.php?q=brand:+Planters Any company can "say" ....."no gluten ingredients" or "naturally gluten free" or "gluten free" but if it does not have the GIG certification, which is a black G F in a circle, then...
  9. You said things got worse "Since I moved back home"....are you are getting cross-contaminated somehow? There could be a number of reasons why you feel worse, but let's start with this one.
  10. Before I answer, weren't you gluten free for many years? (I seem to recall this from your other posts)
  11. yes, but only the nearby horses and cows will LOVE to eat it....sorry, kiddo---I've got the same crispy crop growing right here. RAIN.... we need RAIN.
  12. I react to trace gluten. I am pretty sensitive, yet I eat all fruits and vegetables with absolutely no problem after I wash them well--in hot water--- and sometimes, the spray that Gemini has suggested. I have even just doused them quickly with some bottled water when I am hungry and purchased them from a farm stand or a supermarket. Gluten does not...
  13. First tomatoes today!!! yaay! It's summer for real now. .....but the racoons stole the suet feeder....I do not mean they ate the suet. I do not mean they stole the suet. (this happened often until we wised up and put it away every night) I mean, in the night, they somehow OPENED a tightly CLOSED metal garbage can somehow, and took the whole...

  17. Allergies are different than celiac, okay. If you have anaphaylaxis from oranges, then NO, you should not eat them or you will not be able to breathe.
  18. ah, but we are not old, P---we're "prime". (truth be told, I still do not like a/c much) The windows are wide open today. After being oppressive for 3 days, it is actually nice today--82 degrees and perfect. The grass, however, is nearly hopeless.

  22. Squirmy, my friend, It is incredibly validating to be told what we already know, isn't it? Good for you. Glad he is taking good care of you regarding follow-up care. Looks like you've got yourself a good one. I am so happy for you!
  23. Oh boy. You need a better GI doctor. (1) blunting of the villi IS celiac disease. That IS your Diagnosis. (2) the doctor is an asshat and should have told you more than "avoid wheat", since gluten is also in rye, barley and contaminated oats and other things that are cross-contaminated. YOU NEED a CELIAC savvy--GI to take care of you! You...
  24. Same here, Patti. Growing up in Boston. No AC. Never heard of it. We were lucky to have fans. which only "pushed" the hot air around.
