  1. I feel way safrer when I use paper towels. I may have to stick to that. Good idea!
  2. I got glutened at the same time as you.... It screwed me up for 3 days, just like you.... I caught my 13 year old daughter wiping her gluteny hands on my dish towel after she ate wheat toast. She admitted that she had done the same thing the day before at breakfast (instead of washing her hands). I used that same towel to dry my coffee cup after breakfast...
  3. My eyes fill with tears when I think of Krispy Kream donuts....how I miss the frosting filled chocolate bismarks...........sigh.....but, kinninnick chocolate donuts get me by....

  5. It's my one year wheat/gluten free anniversary. One year ago this month my sister and I figured out that I had a wheat allergy (later confirmed by my doctor). Today, I was reflecting on how my (and family's) eating habits have changed for the better. Because of this wheat allergy, I've been forced over the past year to make most of my food from scratch...

  13. Thank you. She sure made me feel loved and cared for. She sure looks sweet with that apron on. She usually wears jeans and fitted T-shirts......such a difference!!!
  14. Yes, you would like having a rolling island. The one you see in the picture actually folds down on both sides making it pretty small if we want it out of way. It's a handy piece of furniture. I like how I can roll it to wherever I want to work, plus, theres storage underneath of it. It sure sounds like you did a lot of work in that one kitchen!!!
  15. And if she did make it herself with a gluten-free mix, did she bake it in a glutened pan, did she greese and dust the pan with wheat flour without thinking? Even though it is wonderful that she thought of you....I would ask questions as honetly as possible. It's your health.
  16. She looks Amish or Little house on the prairie" in this vintage apron that I bought at the thrift store!!!
  17. She's right. Maybe you have a combo of both Celiac and Gallbladder issues. It certainly can't hurt to try gluten free. So many people have false negatives.... And there is a direct relationship between gallbladder disease and Celiac disease. I read an article about it recently right here on this website!! https://www.celiac.com/articles/119/1/Gall...
  18. ((((((hugs)))))) I know your pain.....I wish your appt was earlier. Maybe the consult is really more of a pre-op appt. to get you ready and scheduled for surgery? Let's hope...... I sure hope you don't have anymore big attacks before then.....((((hugs))))) I feel so bad for you....
  19. Surprisingly, the cat likes this sort of attention.......LOL Later, he ate the hat and cake....at least chewed and clawed it up good..ha ha, I didn't find any pieces of it in the litter box.... Thank you for saying my daughter is pretty!!
  20. Yes, it really did mimick Celiacs. I had gut pain, cramping, headaches, bad diahrrea, dizziness....etc. From reading this forum, and all that Celiacs go through when they have been glutened, I felt that I understood what it was like to Be Celiac a little. With a wheat allergy, I have a histemine reaction to wheat, not a Celiac reaction. All I can say...

  22. We've had really good luck with Artisan gluten-free flour blend. Yes, it's from a cookbook (Artisan gluten free cookbook), but we have used this flour blend for everything. My daughter used it to make me a birthday cake yesterday (I posted pictures of it in this topic area). My good friend who has been gluten-free for 10 years and is an homeopathic doctor...
  23. Well that's good news!!! I had my gallbladder out Friday. I'm still healing, but I can tell that getting my gallbladder out was the right thing to do.
