  1. OK.....I have a really scary point of view. Would if, this is the new trend of thought for all those gluten lites that have been parading around crying "I have a wheat allergy and/or Celiacs" Making restaurants miserable, then eating a piece of garlic bread saying "I just couldn't resist" would if, this group of dumb-shihtzu's need a way out of their trendy...
  2. Yes, I love the DQ ice cream cake idea. In fact, I even called my local DQ and confirmed they could do it, then I read your Sundae bar idea and decided to do that instead. It sounds like fun, messy, but gluten-free messy fun!!! Thanks for the ideas! Last weekend was the last time I let a pile of kids in and let them gluten up my house. I'm...

  4. TACO's!!!!! Awesome idea!!!!!! I'm planning my daughter's 12 birthday party, and you just gave me the answer to my food problem. I have to feed them, they are staying the night. Whoo Hooo...taco station!!!! LOVE IT!!!
  5. I just wanted to say welcome to the forum. I am also severely allergic to wheat. I'm so sorry she (and you) are having a rough time adjusting to her new food restrictions. The others have given really good advice. I can't think of anything to add. Do you have a whole food grocery near you? They carry a ton of gluten free foods. I tend to eat...
  6. Nevermind..........ha ha ha....I figured it out...
  7. Maybe it's time to move to Colorado! I like both Rudi's and Udi's. They both ROCK!
  8. WOW.....You are a fancy lot of GFers this evening. I am a little embarrassed with my dinner selection....but here goes. A bowl of corn 2 slices of toasted udi's bread with butter 2 ounces of Balsamic Asiago cheese I take a bite of toast, then a piece of cheese, and a spoonful of corn in my mouth at the same time....yummy..
  9. I don't mind the cooking, it's the dishes I hate. Yesterday, my dishwasher produced a flash of light, and then the smelly electrical fire smell. I had the fire department come out and make sure it was really out and not going to burn the house down. So, I now have no dishwasher until I can afford to buy a new one. Today, I bought plastic cups, paper plates...

  12. Yes, I was talking to you. Thank you for the explanation. You really are Mizz combo pack! I have a cousin who tested negative, but displays ALL Celiac sign and symptoms. I cannot convince her to use the term Celiac in the real world, and people do not take her seriously. It breaks my heart. The real world needs a specific recognizable term like Celiac...
  13. Am I reading this right? You are a wheat allergy and not A celiac, like me?????? Or are you a combo pack????
  14. B-Coffee with splenda and half and half cottage cheese with sliced fresh strawberries.
  15. I couldn't agree more.
  16. I had "just" poured a cup of Joe, then sat down with my laptop and saw your post. Those cupcakes would be great right now! I have no advise for you as far as Celiacs symptoms, because mine is a wheat allergy. However, I know it is true that your tests will come back negeative because you've been without wheat for so long. That does not mean you do not...
  17. Congrats on your one year anniversary. My anniverary was last month. I know what you mean about the gluten items becoming invisible. I still have tantrums when driving by Krispy Kreme donuts though....sigh.....but it ain't worth it, so all I can do is sulk. Hasn't it been quite the learning experience over the last year? It's been a crash course for...
  18. Maybe so! I'll check it out!
  19. OMGosh...me too. I absolutely doubt I could go even one day without mentioning it to someone. I've even tried, and couldn't do it. I blew it at the grocery store where instead of saying "no thank you" when offered a sample, I had to explain why......for me, not them!!! I analyze touching wheaty items too. I actually get itchy hands and bumps if...
  20. I need to come on here more. Like you said, this validation stuff is good for the soul. I've been on a weight loss board a lot........blathering about wheat along with diet....Ha Ha
  21. Wow...I took a long nap and woke up to all these great replies to my post. I was laughing, crying, saying aaawww, and totally feeling like I belong. I love that feeling. My tribe. My problem may be wheat allergy but you are my tribe. I can relate to everything everybody wrote. I think that we tend you look for and believe that people around us share...
  22. Ha Ha Ha...funny!!! Yes, It's better to not eat at gatherings. I've been successful with not eating at large gatherings.....but, I still blather............LOL
  23. How long after diagnoses did it become normal enough for you to stop talking about it a lot? I'm a year out from diagnoses. Yet, I still feel like I'm learning, and social situations are still a little new. I'm still thinking about wheat allergy and dietary restrictions 24/7. I can't seem to shut it off... I like the idea of thinking before I speak...
  24. SIGH.....I did it again. I went to a BBQ with complete intent to not go on and on and on about my wheat allergy and dietary needs....yet, I did it again. I believe I saw the glazed look in my hosts eyes once. It's so hard not to talk about it, because it encompasses every aspect of our lives. How do you guys control yourselves? I want to, but it comes...
