ARCHIVED What Is Your Most Annoying Symptom?
Ashley replied to erin24's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Patti- I believe so, but, I think I didn't have anemia. I do take a multivitamin everyday. I'll give it a look and see if there's a good amount of iron in there. -

ARCHIVED Red Dots Under And Above The Eyes
Ashley replied to Ashley's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks, ChelsE...I'll be okay, just take a little time. Ouch, sorry you had to go through mono, one of my friends got that once Wow...that's kind of strange, I haven't throw up yet and I've gotten them twice. Happy I haven't thrown up yet though. -
Stupid I got into gluten yesterday, and now I've got red dots around my eyes. They're blood red...it looks like someone took a marker to me. I've got to go to a funeral and be a pall bearer (yes, a girl can be a pall bearer) and I look terrible in my face. I don't feel to hot, but, I'll be fine. I’m hoping it’ll clear up before the funeral…anyway, just wonde...

ARCHIVED Size Seven In The Morning, Twelve At Night...
Ashley replied to elye's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
From the looks of it, a vast majority of people with celiac disease suffer with this. It feels like I'm bloated ALL the time, from morning to night. Not all the time, but, most. Rarely do I ever eat breakfast. Everytime I eat I hurt, it's just normal part of life for me now. There's nothing I know to do. The mid-morning it felt like my pants were sawing right... -
ARCHIVED "modified Germ"
Ashley replied to Ashley's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is the first time I've ran up on it as well, thought it was a little odd. Thanks guys, I'll be sure not to use it. -
ARCHIVED "modified Germ"
Ashley posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found that listed on the Ingredients of a spa facial cream. I'm not sure if modified germ usually contains wheat germ or not. -
ARCHIVED Oats: Who Eats Them?
Ashley replied to Ksmith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
'Sides from oats in oatmeal cookies, I never really liked oats before having Celiac, so, nope. -
I could slap Kelloggs for putting malt in Rice Krispes.

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Is Not That Hard!
Ashley replied to chrissy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Once I learned through Celiac, that you eat to live, not live to eat, this diet is not hard at all. It's kind of sad, thinking back, that eating a piece of pizza was the only thing that would make me happy :/ I think what's really hard is fitting back into the social events involving food. Dating is really fun. "Wanna go eat out?" "No, every freakin' thing... -
'Course not, I'm sick of hurting with my stomach...even though I kind of thought they had gluten, I eat them until they released they had wheat in them. And, for anyone who said 'yes', why risk having those terrible side-effects when you can drag out the deep fryer, go get some frozen french fries at your local market and have 'em at home? Yeah, I know...

ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill?
Ashley replied to key's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well, I haven't the chance to try Bob's Red Mill cereal, but, I have no problems with any of their other products. My folks and I make my bread out of Bob's Red Mill mixes and I have never had a problem. However, I'm still healing from severely damaged small intestines. So, I hurt everyday and I don't know if it’s ever played a factor. But, I hurt no more t... -
ARCHIVED Gluten-free Corndogs?
Ashley replied to Ashley's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank You, Jessica! I'll be sure to pass this recipe a long to my Mom and maybe even learn a little about cooking myself (lol, not to handy in the kitchen yet). To get some corndogs would do wonders for me. Kind of been bland in the world 'good food'. I'll be sure to let you know how it all turned out. -
I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for some gluten-free corndogs or where I could purchase some! I've searched Wild Oats---no luck there. Thanks and hope to hear something... -Ash

I'm a female.

Gah...just nevermind...
-
...I'm not sure...whatever, I'm not going to have a debate over it.

Well, if the Caramel color is made in the United States, then, it is probably gluten-free. I remember reading something about it where they use corn instead of wheat. But, you never know.

ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
Ashley replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Well...excuse me, but, this sucks. This is confusing, I've had managers tell them they are gluten-free, McDonald's lists say gluten-free, now they're not. Grr...Though I detest saying, I think it would be in everyone's best interest just to avoid McDonald's completely. Don't trust Burger King either. They say fries are dipped in gease alone, but, my cousin... -
I love it! I brought a whole case of it about two weeks back or so. You're kidding---no. Sorry if it has gluten in it. I'm not giving up cokes. Anyway, I've had no problems with any Coca-Cola brand drinks! I've hated the fear of the caramel coloring in the cokes having gluten in them. I really don't like "Codex's definition of gluten-free". Even though...

ARCHIVED Argh! I Need Help Quick!
Ashley replied to frenchiemama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, I 'pose taking Vegetables and Fruit in a container would never hurt. But, too healthy and boring, right? Try making a loaf of homemade gluten-free bread gives a lot of options (In my eyes, Bob's Red Mill is the best gluten-free flour to make bread with). Numerous sandwiches are available now. Also, when taking gluten-free bread, I've found keeping... -
ARCHIVED Very Sick Teenager
Ashley replied to michelle4boys's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would absolutely recommend having him tested for Celiac. I had no Diarrhea whatsoever. The symptoms are different with each individual. With some cases, some lose significant amounts weight (which happened to myself...eighty pounds ) and others have none. Hope your Son makes way to feeling much better! -
Alas, I can't say I only had two cavities. I'm an average teen for you. Anyway, was the molar a tooth that had a filling over it? I believe mine had a filling over it . I discovered it is decayed from the inside out after that bit fell out. I've noticed also I have extreme sensitivities to cold, hot or even normal temperature foods. Do you have any suggestions...
-
I've suffered enormous amounts of pain with my teeth. I regular floss and brush my teeth, but, I now I have a second tooth that developed a crack in it. A bit of it fell out of it the other day. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having these problems. Thanks

ARCHIVED Finding People In Highschool Who Has Cd...
Ashley replied to Ashley's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I know, I can barely sit there while they have a box with a mini pizza in it. It smells so good. So do I, but, it's usually fruit and peanuts, and occasionally meat roll up things. Telling me that really helps. I'm getting better about it, it's a lot easier this month then in June. I'm fourteen, and I'll be fifteen on Sept. 30. My name's Ash, if you want...
