  1. At anytime I could find, I would try to find a local store wherever you are and find some fresh fruit or veggies. Anything is better than nothing solid. Hope you feel better and actually find something filling (I know the feeling ) -Ash
  2. Yes, especially during the time I was suffering from Celiac undxed. A lot of times my vision would black out from getting up too fast. I've also gotten so dizzy and fatigued that I passed out. Now that I'm gluten-free, this has gone down tremendously. -Ash
  3. For military acdemies, or unverisities it is. That sure does make me feel better and gives me hope!!! I want be an aerospace engineer/pilot. Absolutely going to college before anything and taking ROTC no matter what. Thanks -Ash
  4. I can answer your question fairly easy, look at my name and rank down there. If you notice, it says 'cadet' infront of it. I'm a cadet for JROTC in highschool, if I was an actual servicewoman, I wouldn't have cadet infront of my rank. Yeah anyway, I've had a lot of people tell me I can't go into the service because of Celiac. I e-mailed the Air Force folks...
  5. I know one thing. Don't try Cer-os. Look like Cheerios. Don't taste like 'em Nasty!
  6. Always read the label They like to change on ya Milkways aren't gluten-free, just to get that out of the way. You'd think they'd be gluten-free though... Let's see, Pop Rocks are good, I think starbursts are okay too (but they have 'food starch-modified', never seen it said that way.), Ring Pops...a lot of the the gluten-free candies I think of have...
  7. Congratulations on your new little sweet baby! Babies are such joys be around, enjoy him! -Ash
  8. All I notice is I'm more ill and twice as much pain with heavy bleeding -Ash
  9. Fluffy!!! XD, sorry Agent Z- A lot of people won't touch things with gluten in them because it gives them skin reactions, breakouts, ect. Others don't have skin reactions or aren't bothered enough to stop touching gluten.; Yep, you learn ya have to dig deeper than what folks tell you. Double checking labels, lots 'o hours of trying to get information...

It makes a lot of sense to me. Ugh I'm the same way. I still have stomach pains when I eat, even if I'm hundred percent sure the food is gluten free. My stomach and villi are still healing. I just assume that I'm more ill because I'm in such pain. -Ash
  11. Wish I knew. Never thought to ask them -Ash
  12. I have my emotional ups and downs as well too. But, being different is good. In my eyes, being predictable is not good enough. Having different attributes builds up the little pieces that makes you something unique and not the same uniformed-copy of someone/something else. I know it gets old and stale even people come up and say "I'd die without bread!" and...
  13. I'll be thinking of you when I pray tonight, good thoughts and vibes for you. Try to be calm. Anticipation of this hurts you more than it does good. Hope things go well -Ash
  14. Wow! I was kinda surpised when I picked up my Yoga maganize in Wild Oats today and saw an article about Celiac! It's pretty basic, but, imformative. The artice discusses commons symptoms of Celiac disease and what it causes. Another mainpoint was "Are you 1 in 100?" From 15th-21st of May was helded as a National Awareness Week "to promote the need...
  15. For me, it was a military ball, but, same difference. I didn't even touch the food there. I ate before. I was having so much fun that I didn't have to time to even think about eating. The only thing I got was something to drink.
  16. moussyluv- important, Did you have to strain to make a bm? I'm in the same boat. Went to the doctor, had an exam, and got put on a powder lax. I had no signs of fissures or hemorrhoids (don't know about internal hemorrhoids though yet). I took it, no blood, but it made me go so much I stopped taking it 'cause it made me sick at my stomach a lot. The blood...
  17. I don't know if chronic sinusistis (sp-sinus problems) can be considered a disease, but, sometimes it is more annoying than Celiac to me know. All I got to do is avoid gluten and problem solved. Not always easy, but, you can do something about it. With my sinus, first surgery just did a lot of scaring and blocked one out to where it couldn't drain. So I had...
  18. I just had sinus surgery and I can't walk, run, 'heavily' excerise, or lift anything over five pounds for two weeks. So basically waste away anyway, since I know I can't have playdoh, my folks went and got me a package of floam. It's all bubbly and squishy. I love to squeeze it!!! Problem is, being so out of it, I threw the package it came in and the bucket...
  19. Welcome to the boards! Well, can't help you with finding folks in Utah, but, let's discuss your friend issue. Personally, if that was me, I would mostly likely reply, "Well, I guess you don't have a headache because you weren't hurting before. Or, guess you don't have asthma because you could breathe just fine before" But, it would probably be good...
  20. Oh I absolutely feel the pain of the Subway commericals. Espeically when the good and cheesy-melty stuff comes out.
  21. I'm the only gluten-free person in my house like many others. I've never had a problem with CC and the mircowave before. But, if you're having some problems, go out and find a mircowaveable lid that you place over your food just for your food and then one for the rest of the family. Those are made to keep your soup or whatever's in there from exploding all...
  22. Just happens that I ordered my hair dye from Hottopic! Wow! It's amazing how many colors you dyed your hair, Smunkeemom! I wish I could do that! I remember reading an article on Hottopic about how hard it was to get band shirts back then. CarlaB- Ouch , I know that had to painful! I think would look really nice in your hair, the flower in your...
  23. Welcome here! I love your point of view. It's very positive to me. That's right, there's treatment out there for us that serves to help protect us from diseases. We're not perfect, so, we're going to have illnesses. I'll remember this post, especially during my ups and down that I've been having. Take it easy, Sandy. -Ash
  24. Thanks guys! That makes me feel better, just the slightly contact with gluten makes me miserable Patti- Don't worry! I'm not dying my entire hair green, just the tips ends. It's also semi-permanent. It'll only last about 3-6 weeks. Anymore and my Mom would not be happy. During the school year, my best friend who moved to Virginia Beach, VA and I had...
  25. I got my Special Effects Iguana Green hair dye today and I'm pretty sure it's gluten-free, but, it's got some of those really long ingredient words on it. There's the list: H20 to one hundred, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Benzyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Citric Acid, Mixes of Dyes, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methlparaben...
