  1. Poptarts. I crave those things all the time! There's almost an edible substitute for everything, except for pastries. I don't miss regular pretzels because there's awesome substitutes. But, I do miss the mustard-flavored ones though. Can't find gluten-free ones. -Ash
  2. Lol, that'd be great! I love the cake mixes too...tastes just like a chocolate cake to me! Sure enough! I haven't been able to take lessons yet, but, I really do want to go into the Air Force as a pilot or a doctor. I'm praying for a waiver for celiac disease so I can get in. I'm in JROTC right now. My boyfriend and I are big aviation freaks! ...
  3. No, you're in the right. That was plain childish. Don't worry about it, I would just make sure what I bought is safe and functional
  4. Hiya! My name is Ashley and I'll be 16 in a few months. I'm lactose-introlerant and a Celiac too. Wow! It's amazing you actually have another Celiac in your grade! I'm searching at my highschool to see if there's any other Celiacs out there, but, no luck. Oy, Pamela's bread mix IS the absolute best. If ya need anyone to talk to me, I'm here Feel free...
  5. I'm going up to DC on October 1st through the 6th. I'll be with my JROTC corp and I'm not sure if I'll be able to take any gluten-free food with me or not. Are there any good places in DC anyone knows about? It'd be really helpful. Thanks. -Ash

    ARCHIVED Sit Ups Cause Pain

I suffer from the exact thing. I don't know what causes it either. Upper to middle stomach and hurts whether I've gotten into gluten or not. -Ash

    ARCHIVED "the Trigger"

Flu in December of 2004, that's what triggered mine. -Ash
  8. I hate that comment more than any other. Sometimes, I would just love to say them, "Oh yes, I'm sure you would like be malnurished, in temendous pain from the antibodies attack your small Intestine, have your stomach pumped when every you come into a lot gluten, have your capillars burst so bad that it looks like you have the measles for a week, and lose...
  9. Welcome AnnaBelle! (Beautiful name, by the way ) I'll be 16 in a month. I know how ya feels. I get nervous in social events, thinking I'm going to get sick or someone's gonna throw some kind of gluten filled food at me for spite. Trust me. With time, this becomes so much easier that you sometimes forget that you actually have Celiac Disease in an anyway...
  10. It went so well! We went to the fair, and, even though the smell of the bloomin' onions (oh god...) about got me, I wasn't really attempted to eating anything that I shouldn't. My boyfriend is caring and worries about me. It was really nice. One of the few social events were gluten wasn't a major presense. -Ash
  11. My depression shot up to the roof after being Dxed. At first, it was about being deprived of some foods. I'm still dealing with it quite a bit, but, it has nothing to do with being gluten-free. I've also been extremely more emotional after being dxed. Really don't why... -Ash

  13. Thanks everyone for links, suggestions and support Chelse, I usually have some kind of cereal in the morning (hooked on the Dora the Explorer cereal), lunch is either chicken salad or a hamburger steak or my favorite, parsami (sp? probably) , celery & peanut butter or peas, grapes or bananas and once in a blue moon there'll be funyuns in there....
  14. I know this probably been posted twenty-million times, but, when I search for a topic I get things that are not even related to it. I really do hate the search system on this site. My diet is absolutely horrible at times. I mean, I usually eat veggies and fruit at lunch (packed), but, when I'm at home, especially during the weekends, I find myself eating...
  15. I was 14 when I was Dxed and now I'll be 16 in a month. -Ash
  16. Same thing happens to me. That's why it kinda annoys me when people say it can't be absorbed through the skin. It might not, but, it's itchy and very annoying! I suggest doing at home. -Ash
  17. Unless your college can guantree completely gluten-free meals and no chance of CC, I would bring my lunch ( as I do at highschool). I love things like red kidney beans and rice, fresh fruit and veggies, peanut-butter in the cups, etc. Snack in class, if you can. It helps. Relax. It's hard, I'm not shy, but, I'm so incredibly different that's it was hard...
  18. Thanks everyone I didn't think it was TSS, but, just thought I'd ask. I've have tried EVERYTHING that has been listed before except trying the all natural tampons. I'm allergic to many things, so, it would make sense to give it a shot. Also, my tampons are unperfumed. Now all I gotta do is actually get a gynecologist doctor. -Ash
  19. Nope. I'm afraid that I would react so bad that I would to have my stomach pumped. Got so sick last time that it almost had to be done. -Ash
  20. Ladies, Have any of you have problems wearing tapons? I have absolutely the severest pain with them, and I promise you that I have it inserted as far as I can get it. I bought the smallest small possible with plastic applicators. I get horrible shots of pain. Does this sound like TSS? Oh! And, for anyone was wondering, my back pain is related to IBS...

    ARCHIVED Nick Names!

Well, not me, but my food gets nicknamed. My cousin LOVES my gluten-free cake and calls it 'gluten-cake'. He also loves my gluten-free cookies 'gluten-cookies'. I keep explaining over and over that's not gluten but it never goes through -Ash
  22. My days are up and down. My school classes are horrible, I know hardly anyone in my classes except for one. I'm taking my medication like I'm suppose and talk to a therapist. A lot of the times, nothing triggers it. I'm just plain out miserable and I don't why. I just don't know what to do... -Ash
  23. Yeah I'm havin' this problem too. Mind if a question on this topic while all the knowing folks are here? Isn't Enterolab the blood test or system that checks for the intolerances? I was Dxed by an upper endoscopy, so, I wouldn't know. Thanks! -Ash
  24. Yeah, turning down the cherries too many at a time isn't too delicate on my stomach. As long as I eat them slowly and a few at a time, I'm good to go. -Ash
