  5. Whew, I thought we had it cold. Highs in the 30s and lows in the teens. I had to run out and start the car for my mom (who's busy making wedding cakes, running back and forward) in my shorts. I will not do that again. The winds are so painful, I couldn't imagine them in zero degree weather.
  6. Once I began the gluten-free diet, gradually my weight loss began to level off. I haven't gained any of it back, I've stayed at the same weight for almost two years now. I was still eating gluten, I would start losing weight again. It's different for everyone, though. Some folks just don't lose the weight. Some even gain it. If you're losing weight and...
  7. Yes. I break-out horrible if gluten comes contact with my skin. I felt horrible at the smell of it too. I went into a bread store and it nearly made me sick. I absolutely will not handle gluten unless I have pair of gloves on and if I really need to handle it. The only I time I remember doing so was for an art project. Sorry for the horrible experience there...
  8. Ooo...I'm so tempted, but, my 4th block class is going to take the Meyer's Briggs test on the humanmetrics.com site one day in class next week. I'll post what I get when do it, I want to do it with my friends by -Ash
  9. I know what ya mean. Sometimes, people can get annoyed because you just want to make sure that it is truely safe by asking many questions. I really don't like to investigate either, mainly because how ignorant people are about Celiac Disease, gluten, and so forth. In the long run, it pays off. It can get ya experience in what to ask and look for when...
  10. Good luck, Molly! I know how much fun finals are we had ours the last two days before Christmas break. You'll be home free soon, to break and relax. You'll do fine, if you're in AP, it's obivous you put effort into your work. I need some luck myself...the new semester started and I'm not having too much fun with Honors Alg. 2... -Ash
  11. I found out that there is actually something I can eat that comes from my HS' Cafeteria. I learned this from a friend that is allergic to numerous things. She got a list of what the school offers and what she could. She got to looking and we figured out that I could actually have the taco salad at school! I just wanted to let everyone know that you shouldn...
  12. Congratulations =). I know the feeling, I have a boyfriend who responds to my diet the same. It's so uplifting to know that someone doesn't think you're a burden and truely cares for your health. I was so thrilled that his parents actually have a brain and know the difference between gluten and gluten-free. His grandmother even made me gluten-free fried...
  13. Patti, I'll be praying for you as you have thought of me through my numerous ordeals. I know all will be well. You're just a thoughtful, friendly, and very helpful member as well as wonder friend. Can't wait to see you post again =) -Ash
  14. The horrible vomitting and burning in my throat takes care of my cravings. Maybe indulging a little bit in something you can eat will help? -Ash
  15. I had a horrible problem with constipation myself---leading to go to the doctor with it. Aside from taking a powder lax, I saw that lettuce really helped me in fighting it. I sure do hope this problem for your son goes away---not a fun road to go down. -Ash
  16. The leather jacket that my boyfriend got me =) -Ash
  17. I e-mailed the United States Air Force a bit back and it is considered a disability. However, the man I e-mailed told me that it was up to your health-screener (or something or another like that, it's been a while) that makes the finally decision. I've heard from my Sgt. and Maj from JROTC that it is possible to get a medical waiver. I pray to God that I...
  18. Our Veterans' Day Parade was really great this year. Our JROTC Color Guard was infront of the entire parade, which was one the greatest honors I and my other fellow Color Guard members has had. Once we got to the Courthouse, four of our cadets were choosen to do a flag holding similiar to one that we did in DC. It brought back memories of the stories...
  19. At the most, my mouth burned a little bit. That was about...maybe three hours so after my boyfriend had ate pizza. There wasn't a toothbrush 'round for him at the time, since it was at my 16th B-Day party and kinda didn't see that one comin' at me. I was actually surpised that I didn't breakout. My reactions are really weird. Some make me hurl it back...
  20. I bought a cake mix at wild oats called Glutino and I was very impressed with the taste and it rose while it was baking and had a good moist texture. This is a good gluten free cake mix. Ashley's Mom

  22. It's perfect since it's my birthday today! Wish me luck that I don't stare to death. I'm a little nervous, since I really don't have a good idea of places were going to eat. But, I think my Sarge and Major will help me out. See y'all in a week! -Ash
  23. Eh. I'm 5'1 1/2. -Ash
  24. All righty, I would tell him. One- This is a lifelong condition(if you are Dxed or have an introlrance to gluten). It ain't going away, so, might as well get it out of the way now by telling him that this could be possible. Two- I think you'd feel a bit more comfortable if you did, that way, you wouldn't be offered food that ya can't eat. You're still...
  25. We have the AFJROTC at our highschool = Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp. You learn drill, marching, and other ceremony movements and activities. We also have Special teams (Saber, Color Guard, and Drill Team), Kitty Hawk Air Society and some others. In my opinion, it's not a hard class. You do have to be dedicated to taking care of your uniform...
