This is an e-mail I received from The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center: Sign the petition asking the FDA for gluten-free standards now! Last year, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials made a commitment to the celiac community that the gluten-free labeling rule would be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2012 (September...

ARCHIVED Petition for Gluten-Free Labeling on White House Website - Celiac.com
Macbre replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
I'm not sure if this has become a topic on here or not, but I would encourage everyone to read the e-mail below and sign the petiton to get our foods labeled. This is the e-mail I have recieved from the Univ. of Chicago..... Last year, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials made a commitment to the celiac community that the gluten-free... -
I had the DeBoles gluten-free angel hair pasta last night for the first time, and had a severe reation to it. I've haven't had any recent incidents and that was the only new thing I tried yesterday. Has anyone else had a reaction to their product? I feel like crap today ....been so careful and now this.

Just curious to know why a topic is moved and where it is moved to. I'm seeing a lot of these and didn't know the reason behind it.

I can totally relate to this....I've been gluten-free since 12/2010 & have gained 12 lbs. I'm so frustrated because I eat a very balanced diet. We cook @ home and I only have 2-3 gluten-free cookies during the day when I'm craving sweets. I hardly ever have gluten-free bread and watch my carb intake. Had my tyroid checked 2 weeks ago & everything...

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Buy Their gluten-free Products Over The Internet?
Macbre replied to Macbre's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the feedback...I'm going to give it a try. -
I was purchasing vitamins from Vitacost.com and noticed they have a lot of gluten-free foods & products that are much cheeper than in stores. I found several products that I eat on a regular basis and others that I've never heard of. Eating gluten-free can be very expensive and I figured it would be cost effective to order online (I don't think you...

I'm assuming CC because I know the things I am eating are gluten-free, but it doesn't happen like this all the time. That's what has me puzzled. I get ALL of the same exact symptoms you listed when it does happen.

I have been gluten-free for 1 year & 3months now, but still get glutened every now & then by accident. Most of the time I just experience the standard reaction, but occasionally (like last night) I have the stomach cramps and D and then while I'm on the toilet I start this uncontrollable shaking/tremors and then I start having heart palpations. ...

ARCHIVED "the Change..."
Macbre replied to josh052980's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Mine have definitely changed too....I have the typical bowl symptoms for a few days, but the neuro last for several weeks. I was glutened 3 weeks ago and now I can't get rid of the eye twitch, ringing in the ears and the brain fog, not to mention the joint inflamation and being off balance. Headaches....that's a daily occurance for me right now so I know... -
I have suffered from severe anxiety for about 2 years now....to the point I had several panic attacks. After reading many post that suggested a vitamin deficiency I decided what the heck - I'll try anything at this point. I bought the Super Nutrition Simply One Women (with the PMS reducer) and let me tell you....I am a NEW woman. Not only has my PMS symptoms...

I read a post yesterday that brought up the possibility of someone maybe having candida. When it referred to becoming bloated after eating certain foods (sweets/ice cream) it got me to wondering if I possibly have it. I get severly bloated after eating ice cream and I'm usually bloated in the AM after having a glass of wine the night before. I'm a female...

ARCHIVED Did Anyone See The Today Show This Morning?
Macbre posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Did anyone else listen to Nancy Snyderman talk about the "gluten-free Diet" on the Today Show? She was talking about how gluten-free foods are not providing the nutrients your body needs and refered to it as the "new sexy diet craze." OMG....I don't know about anyone else, but there is NOTHING sexy about having to eat gluten-free and especially nothing... -
Mine is mainly rib cage pain, but now that I read yours I'm wondering if alot of my lower abdominal pain isn't gluten related....I've always assumed it was "monthly" related symptoms. I get alot of cramping and I assumed it was because I have endometrosis, but now I have to wonder. I got glutened about 1 week ago and have had terrible back pain and cramping...

I use my iPhone and have an app called "is that gluten free". It comes in handy alot.

I have palpations on a regular basis and that is one of my main symptoms when I'm glutened. However, I started taking a womans vitamin about 3 weeks ago and I have to say that my palpations have lessened. I'm starting to think that I had a vitamin deficiency. The palpations are worse around my monthly cycle so I know hormones do play a part in them. My...

I don't know anything about the Phillips' brand but I have used the Natren brand for 6 years now and have had wonderful results. I did try a brand from Costco shortly after going gluten-free and had major set backs. I definitly recommend probiotics to everyone with Celiacs.

ARCHIVED Heart Palpitations...
Macbre replied to Elizabeth5220's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can relate to the heart palpations, however I did start taking a multi-vitamin about 3 weeks ago and I have to say that I haven't had any heart related issues. It took me a full 10 months to start having more good days than bad days. It takes a while to heal and you will find that there are going to be foods that you can't tolerate for a while that will... -
Ive had terrible eczema since I was a baby but it has cleared up now since being gluten-free, but it does flare up when i get glutened. Ive been gluten-free 1year with many slip ups in the beginning. I have developed more food allergies and an airborn allergy to gluten. The longer I go without being glutened the worst my symptoms are when I do get glutened...

This is my 2nd Christmas gluten-free also.....Much better this year! I look at it this way....at least I don't have to exercise extra because I've eaten too much junk. It has been nice not being sick this year....I'm finally getting the hang of it. Stick with what you know it gluten-free and don't try anything that others claim is gluten-free and you should...

I'm 1 yr gluten-free this month. I do exercise and that does help. Im thinking its the time of year...so much to do, get togethers that I can't eat at & now we're on vacation and not being at home in my comfort zone I think is adding to it. I have recently started taking a multi-vitamin so maybe that will help. I go to the Dr. in Jan & will discuss...

I've never had anxiety issues prior to being diagnosed with Celiac, but ever since going gluten-free I've had terrible anxiety. Is this normal? Does anyone else have anxiety issues even when they haven't been glutened? I seem to deal with this on a daily basis and especially when I'm out of my "comfort zone." I don't want to go on any medication....

ARCHIVED Severe Symptoms All The Sudden & Not Sure Why
Macbre replied to Macbre's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm feeling a little better today...chest tightness gone, just nausea & "wiped out." I've stayed in my PJ's all day so I have rested most of the day. I do take B12, but I've decided I do need to start taking a good multi-vitamin. I also have things other than the Celiacs that started 3 years ago by a severe viral infection. That is actually what... -
ARCHIVED Severe Symptoms All The Sudden & Not Sure Why
Macbre posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've had some pretty severe symptoms hit me tonight & can't figure what I've eaten....Got glutened last Friday, but thought all was good....today I spent the day shopping & even packed my own lunch. Was having some boughts of feeling like I couldn't catch my breath completely, but I mowed the grass yesterday so I just figured my allergies were acting... -
ARCHIVED Beware....gluten In Hand Sanitizer
Macbre replied to Macbre's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That's good info to know. I wonder if their candles contain some type of gluten. I burn them in my house on a regular basis.
