  1. I have never actually vomited from being gluttened, but one time I was gluttened and had the urge to vomit for over an hour. I sat by the toilet with cold rags on my neck and face. It was enough to frighten me. I have had that urge several times. I do think it could definitely be gluten. I think people's reactions can change over time for sure. My two year...

If you can't eat those things, it is going to be hard to gain any weight. Vegan people are usually skinny anyway. What do you eat to get 5000 calories a day? How long have you been gluten free? Congratulations on the run. I am sure it felt good. I am vegetarian and don't eat any meat, but I do eat some dairy. I would think eating Kinnikinnick breads...
  3. So glad you are home again! Praying Megan's gagging continues to get better. Hope you are getting some rest. Monica
  4. Bloodwork in little children isn't accurate. Has your doctor researched this?? I swear I read this in a journal somewhere. My 14 month old had negative blood work other then a positive IgG? I believe that was the one? Anyway, he didn't have a biopsy, but he got 100% better on the diet. I would question the doctor reguarding the blood work possibly being inaccurate...
  5. I have tried all the breads above and some more. I like the GLuten Free Pantry for toast, etc. It does go bad if you don't freeze it right away though. Best bread for taking a sandwich to work already made. I tried Bread by Anna and liked the texture, but didn't like the beany flavor. It too needs to be frozen within 24 hours to be any good. I also...
  6. I didn't say doctors were useless! Did you even read my post. No one was bashing doctors. My husband is a doctor and believe me, he studies ALL the time! Eating gluten free isn't going to harm a person. Celiac disease is still being misdiagnosed all the time! My pediatrician told me that he had patients that the blood work was false-positive and...
  7. I know people who can't drink coffee, because it makes their stomach hurt right away. Monica
  8. My husband is a medical doctor and he was at the National Institute of Health last year for some lectures, and some specialist in celiac disease said that the biopsy was no longer the "gold standard" of diagnosing celiac, and the blood test should be just as good. I realize there may be a need to do the biopsy, but I have to say that I think some of it is...
  9. Tanya and family, So happy that Megan will go home so soon! That is wonderful she is feeling so much better. I am sure it is such a relief to have her playing again and smiling. Will pray for the little boy Will that isn't doing well. I stayed in R. McDonald house when my son had surgeries. The greatest part is having other families that are going through...
  10. I too get heartburn when gluttened. It lasts awhile. I take ORange Peel extract or digestive enzymes. THese work better then tums or rolaids and I can't take Prilosec. It is miserable having heartburn. Monica
  11. I just want to add, that just because one person has had a grand experience at a restaurant, doesn't mean it isn't possible for another person with celiac to have a reaction from either CC or be more sensitive to small amounts. I am sure you had a reaction from CC and I am sorry you were sick. It is always somewhat risky to eat out anywhere, but I know PF...
  12. I will try and get him with a pediatrician tomorrow first thing. It stinks when you know that it may be wheat making him sick and you have to keep feeding it to him. It is like "here is some poison for you for breakfast!" Luckily he had a better day yesterday, but still complained of his tummy and didn't eat supper lastnight. I will definitely try and get...
  13. Dear Tanya and family, Your note brings back so many memories for me and it brought chills to me too! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I am sorry for the mom who lost her little one. Watching a child suffer and not being able to help them is such a helpless feeling. I pray you will have continued strength. Glad Cole is having fun with...

    ARCHIVED Warts

I have one on my foot that I have had forever! I used to have some on my elbow. I had a doctor freeze them off and he told me I had to come right back to freeze any again if they started popping up, because the virus will remain in your body. So I did this and they have been gone for about 12 years. I had to go back about two more times, but it worked. I...
  15. Chrissy, Not to be nosey, but did your kids all have the biopsy done too? I hate that we just moved and don't have a pediatrician. HOw is your daughter doing? Haven't seen any posts about her lately. Monica
  16. My baby has celiac disease and so do I. He had the classic symptoms. My four year old has been having stomach aches, seems to not eat well and also has dropped on his growth curve. He is also very gassy and bloated alot. Yesterday he had a very pale stool and loose. He also has mouth ulcers and today he had a very small amount of reflux, this has never been...

I don't know, but I gave up eating out for two months and felt better then I have in a year! Even with stuff that should be safe. Anyway, I tried again without success at Chipotle's. I know it isn't in my head, but it is very frustrating! Monica
  18. I live on Mexican food at home, so no it wasn't just Mexican food. Monica
  19. Glad Megan is more alert and the Motrin is working. I love that stuff! Praying for her continued recovery. My oldest had major surgery on his head at 21 months old and I was very upset through that. It was the hardest thing I have ever been through, so my heart goes out to you Tanya, as her mother. HUGS, Monica
  20. Ok, I am in a really bad mood about this too right now!!! It has been well over a year since I have been gluten free and my mom just told me an hour ago that I needed the biopsy to be sure, because one of my aunts had told her she read this!! It infuriates me! I don't understand why they can't accept it. I have accepted it and deal with it. Whenever I suggest...
  21. Just another thought, when I have been there, I have seen them spoon things onto flour tortilla's and actually spread it around with the spoon and then put it back in the beans. So their is a risk of CC. Also, the first time I ate there, the man changed his gloves for the lettuce and cheese, but if everyone is touching the flour tortilla's etc. then the lettuce...
  22. I was gluttened there the first time I ate there. Same thing. STarted burping and at the end had the usual heartburn, etc. I get when eating gluten. I too pressed on, because I was starving and was hoping it was something else. I knew as I ate it, I was probably in trouble. Sadly enough, that was two weeks ago. I even ate there one more time and the same...
  23. Thinking of little Megan and of course her mommy and daddy! I am glad she is through the surgery. I will continue to pray for her to make a complete recovery! HUGS!!!! Monica
  24. I get the nausea and feelings of wanting to throw up when gluttened. I take Dramamine and sometimes pepto bismol too if it is bad. Dramamine works great for me and they have a less drowsy formula. I am still trying to figure out how long it lasts for me, but at least 3-4 days. Monica
  25. WE had this issue this morning with my two year old. He wanted Frosted mini wheats and I had given him a pancake. My other two non celiac kids were eating the mini wheats. So he fussed and pushed his food away. So we gave him frosted cornflakes, but he didn't want those either, because they didn't look like what his brothers were eating. Then I gave him a...
