  1. Char, My son responded within 24 hours too. The blood tests are just not that accurate for children under 2. He was SO much better within 2 weeks, we knew we had our answer. I know how scarey it is to see them so sick and how helpless you feel and then to have them get better right before your eyes is SO wonderful. I thought my son would die if I didn't...
  2. I did try and get a hold of them, but didn't ever get an answer back. It says that there is Soy in them under the allergen list. All other products they make list Wheat too. At least that I have noticed. Actually now I remember reading on their website what products someone could eat that were gluten free and this one was listed. I agree though, that there...
  3. Tofu Pups are gluten free. I believe there are some other people here that eat these. My son eats them, but I don't care so much for them. They aren't bad, but not what I was used to. Monica
  4. Kinnikinnik products are made in a gluten free facility I believe. I eat them and don't really have a problem. I think they can cause problems maybe if you eat too much at a time. All the white bread. Maybe yeast is bothering you or another ingredient. I do toast everything and I have to toast it like three times. I have never microwaved any of their products...
  5. THanks for answering the weight gain question. I don't really think it has made me gain weight, but I freak out when I read that on websites. My doctor told me it wouldn't make me gain weight, so I was hoping she was right. I think I would be fine if I would quit getting gluttened. It helps me stay regulated though. Glad you figured out that the Lexapro...
  6. I don't have any bloating or pain with taking it. I just went back on it. I keep getting gluttened so much that I get depressed when it happens, so I am back on it. I haven't seemed to have any side effects from it. Previously I went off it after about 3 months, but was only off for about 6 weeks. DOes anyone here that has taken it for awhile have weight...

    ARCHIVED Chipotles

I have seen them use the spoon for rice and wipe it all over the burrito shells made from wheat and then put it in the rice again. I think this could be a problem. I haven't had any luck with anyone being helpful with changing gloves. THey either don't understand or pretend not to understand what I am even asking them. It is always SO busy, it is overwhelming...

    ARCHIVED Gerd?

I take alot of digestive enzymes, but haven't been doing it as faithfully as I was. They do seem to help alot. I will try capsules if it happens again. I am hoping it is gone. Two days without it! Yay! It all started with a bad gluttening and I am finding getting over this one was bad. I am hoping this is it. It sucks when nothing that helps other people...

    ARCHIVED Chipotles

What do you guys order and what precautions do you take to not get gluttened. I find I get gluttened here like 50% of the time. I still continue to eat here, because I love it. I go two weeks and I don't eat there, but get bored of eating at home all the time and try it again. Are the chips risky or the salsa? I always get the Vege burrito bowl and chips...

    ARCHIVED Gerd?

Cassidy, I had tried Prilosec months ago and all the sudden after four days, my stomach would just hurt and I would feel like my food wasn't digesting. Then recently I started having the symptoms again of burning in my throat. So against my better judgement I tried Prilosec again. I again got very sick after four days on it and it didn't work. Also none...
  11. I was wondering the same thing. Which ricotta is gluten free? I guess maybe all, but I saw that at least one had vinegar. It didn't say distilled vinegar. Does anybody know? Monica
  12. I am 5'2inches. Was the shortest one my whole life! Monica
  13. Just thought I would add that my son had negative blood work and we placed him on the diet without testing. It was SO obvious he had it. His diarhea cleared up, he started eating, he gained weight, he quit being so fussy. Then I had blood work done, because I was having symptoms and it was positive. It can be genetic and past on from a parent. THis...
  14. Rinne, Well said, I don't think we need to complain about the board. I think people expect it to do too much for their lives sometimes. There are alot of different personalities and sometimes there will be things you disagree with and maybe don't like, but I just choose to read what I want and "try" to avoid the heated topics. I think after awhile when...
  15. Tubes can get plugged. My son has tubes and he has an ear infection right now. This is only his second one in a year with tubes. He didn't puke this time, but he has in the past several times. If he is fussy, he could still have one. I am sure you would probably know, but just wanted you to know that they can still get plugged off. Monica
  16. My heatburn must not be "normal", because I took Prilosec several times and after 4 days to a week it seems that my stomach just quits working. My food will just feel like it isn't digesting and my stomach hurts. I don't know why. It has happened like 3 times. I did manage to take it for about 3 weeks one time. My brother takes it all the time for heartburn...
  17. I am sorry your 4 year old has this. I am possibly going through the same thing. My youngest is 2 years old and has celiac disease. I have it. We tested my oldest son thinking, because he was only in the 10th percentile he may have it too. His came back completely normal. My now 4.5 year old was always my biggest and appeared to be the healthiest child...
  18. I made them too and they didn't turn out at all. Love her pancake mix and that is all I use from her. I made the gluten-free Pantry one's and loved them, but last time I made them they didn't turn out at all either. Not sure what happened, but the company got bought out and it was since then that they didn't turn out and they seemed different. Monica
  19. Keep the check, call again and ask what the issue is with CC? Tell them you are concerned that this will happen to other people and see if they can put, " processed on shared lines with wheat products". I see this quite often. It wouldn't hurt to ask again, but why not keep the check. You aren't going to sue them and you suffered from their inaccurate labeling...
  20. Dairy can be a problem for Celiac's at first until they heal. I know it was for my son. Sorry she was sick. I take Pepto-bismol when my stomach hurts. I don't know if she is old enough to take a small amount, probably they would say no. Hot herb chamomile tea may help with a small amount of honey or peppermint tea. Also, a warm heating pad helps. I try and...
  21. A size 0 can be perfectly normal. I really am not emaciated. I do not look at all like Nicole Richie! She is too thin and I can assure you that she probably can't even where adult sizes. She weighs like 82 lbs. I weigh 105 lbs. I agree women are obsessed with being too thin. Before all of the celiac started I was a 4 then 2 and loved being a 2. Then hit...
  22. Jen, I would love to say I have some suggestions for you. I am sorry you are feeling bad. I have sort of been going through the same thing. My digestion has been better the past month then it has since going gluten free. So that is a HUGE relief, but I am still very exhausted alot. My bones ache. Especially my hips, knees and legs. I too will run a fever...
  23. I thought I was the only one that didn't like Crocs! Glad I am not the only one. Monica
  24. Just thought I would post this for those that are wondering how long it takes to get better. It has been 14 months since I started gluten free. Everyone that knew me thought I looked too skinny. I could eat whatever and not gain weight. Felt sick most of the time I did eat, but still ate what I would consider alot. Finally the last month or so I can finally...
  25. I know you are trying to avoid fats, but Olive oil is healing to the digestive system, so it may not bother you if you use some in making bread. I don't usually use this type of oil in bread, so I don't know how it would turn out. Can you sub applesauce for oil?? I can't remember. Monica
