  1. It definitely sounds like you could have celiac disease. You have alot of symptoms. I would try and find a good GI doctor that is up on the latest research with celiac. It says that constipation is definitely a symptom in some people. In the past they thought you had to have severe diarhea. I am sorry you have suffered your whole life so much. I hope you...
  2. Danielle, It sounds like you are having a very rough time. Do you like bananas? Have you tried ensure. You definitely need to do something very quickly. Your blood pressure is very low and that is why you are feeling like passing out. I am glad the meat agreed with you. If it is making you feel better then your body needs it. You need to eat whatever works...
  3. Caffeine is a HUGE cause of heartburn for me. I can no longer consume it in any amounts. It brings on IBS symptoms and just seems to slow my GI tract down. Prilosec seems to make my stomach hurt. I hope you feel better and the prilosec continues to work. Monica
  4. If they are just dark brown and not black and tarry, then you should be ok. Actually brown is a good color. I think for me and my son that we had light colored stools and undigested food when we were eating gluten. This still happens when severely gluttened. Monica
  5. Several people here have mentioned feeling sick after kettle chips. I for one avoid them, because I felt sick several times after eating them. Wendy's chili, I don't eat, but eating out can be risky. I wonder if anyone else has had a problem with their chili. THere may not be. I am just trying to come up with something for you. HOpe you feel better. Monica
  6. Everything you said is right on target! I agree with you 100%. I never have heard of spices, but interesting. I know ginger is good for your stomach. Monica
  7. Maybe I am just not brave enough to make special requests. I do eat at PF Changs and have good experiences there. Monica
  8. The man (cardiologist and not sure of his name) on Oprah said that meat putrifies in your colon when you eat it. He didn't say it was putrified before. It isn't digested the same way as fruits and veges. Therefore you need fiber and such to carry it through your intestines was the way he described it. Nuts are high in protein and so are beans, so that is...
  9. I have been vegetarian my whole life and then found out about celiac disease. Meat is not an option for me. There are plenty of good things to eat out there. Fruits, veges, nuts, rice, soups, bread substitutes, etc. I would try and take soy out and see how you feel. If you feel as if you can eat meat, well you could try it. It is a personal decision, but...
  10. I get sick almost everytime I eat out. I was wondering the same thing! I don't know how everyone eats out without getting sick. Guess I am missing something. I used to enjoy eating out, but not anymore. It is depressing sometimes. Monica

    ARCHIVED "house"

I never watch the show, but my cousin called and asked if I had Celiac? She thought that is what we had and she was excited that she saw it on tv. It was funny though when she started telling me what happened. Does that happen in real life with people and celiac?? Probably not typical!!! Monica
  12. Environkids bars are crispy and I like them alot. I like chocolate and sometimes I like the berry one's. Just depends on my mood. Monica
  13. Dramamine is over the counter and works for nausea and dizziness. I don't get dizzy, but nauseated when gluttened. This helps me everytime. I always have some around. I use the less drowsy formula. I sometimes take pepto bismol, for the heartburn I get and stomach ache, but I don't like taking it, because it can be constipating. If I have a severe gluttening...
  14. I wouldn't risk baking with flour, because it is so airborn. I do make my other two kids sandwiches out of regular bread and just wash my hands afterwards. Monica
  15. Soy here does not generally contain gluten, so no need to avoid it because of that here. Monica
  16. Why do you consider this to be such a well researched article. Of course they want you to think that milk is ok. There are some things that we just don't know it seems. I prefer my organic milk personally. NOw there will be a big discussion about milk. You can find basically any research article you want that will lean towards whatever side they want you...
  17. Didn't you go on a gluten binge a few weeks ago?? I haven't read everything, but I thought you were doing ok with the gluten for at least a few days. What happened? Maybe you are recovering from that. I know I can't tolerate anything if I have been gluttened or if I am getting gluten in small amounts everyday. I have been up and down with what I can tolerate...
  18. I think it is crazy to attack one food group like soy and think it is that bad! It is just crazy to me. LIke someone said, I don't think it is a miracle cure and should be consumed in massive amounts, but if you want to know the truth, there are lots of negatives for meat eating (like getting your food second hand). There just hasn't been that much soy eaten...
  19. I was wondering the very same thing. If it was legitimate or not. I have not seen a negative enterolab result since I have been here, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Maybe you should ask them. Monica
  20. I have major D if I consume alot of gluten. Most of the time I have C. It is VERY annoying. If I eat fiber, I feel gross and major stomach pains. I wake up at night almost every night with pain in my abdomen. I feel like my food is just not digesting right at times. I have this weird feeling at night as if there is something "crawling" in my intestines. I...
  21. I am so sorry your daughter is so sick right now. I really hope she is getting the help she needs. IT sounds like she is at least in a safe environment. I have heard of rehab centers that are great. I am praying for you and your family and that she gets better soon. Monica
  22. I emailed the company, but haven't seen a reply yet, but it is the weekend. I took it back to the store and explained it to the guy taking it back. He said, "I bet you were ticked!" I was surprised he understood my dilemma. They even took back the opened box. I didn't notice being sick from the three very small swallows I took, but I have had a reaction from...
  23. I have reacted to the apricots too! Majorly sick three times. I am wondering about the sulfite allergy or if I am just allergic to them. Last time, I swore them off and won't eat them again. There is something in them that definitely makes me very sick. I thought it may be their fiber content, but I felt so bad, I don't think that was all there was too it...
  24. I emailed them and haven't heard back yet. We will see. I definitely want an explanation. Especially when I am sure the oats they are getting aren't from another country that "may" be safe. I tried McCann's oats several times and reacted to them. It was different then with gluten from other sources, but definitely did not agree with me or my son. Monica
  25. I am very upset right now. I just bought ENsure to drink, because I am sick of being sick and thought maybe this would help me. I read it was gluten free. I found some, bought it and it said gluten free and lactose free on the side. No listing of wheat on the side under allergies. I take three sips and as I am drinking it, I see Oat Fiber! Since when are...
