  1. My LO has been gluten free since 7. Now she's 8. But even before that she was a vego child from birth and because I'm a single working mother she's been in childcare from the time she was 1 and attends mainstream school as well as after school care. The gluten free wasn't her main issue. It's not even that she wants to be like everyone else it that she...
  2. We have the books to finish but we've seen all the movies now. They were fantastic. I love them all. We aim to own all the movies as well as all the books. The next adventure we will embark on is Pirates of the Carribean.
  3. Hi I'm from rural NQ
  4. My 8yo was diagnosed by blood test and I took her off gluten from then without anything else happening. I wouldn't agree to anything invasive for her because the end reult is the same = a gluten free diet for life.
  5. I only bought a new toaster but everything else is the old one. With baking trays I always use baking paper anyway then throw it away after. I figure everything is thoroughly washed. I did replace all dish cloth too. They are replaced regularly and were about due.
  6. I know it's more extreme but I think of it a little like a smoker who has cancer but won't stop. You know he has 2 options. He can live a gluten free lifestyle with many more happy years ahead of him or he can fail to take it seriously and risk cutting his life short.
  7. Ok rolly eyes were a little uncalled for. My keyboard won't work too well. I can't type much and what I do type takes a long time. Thank you for clearing it up but yeah uncalled for. Think I'll look elsewhere for information thank you. I'd rather not put up with that.
  8. It was her birthday party yesterday so they had mini pizzas there for lunch. Her mum brought a tub of yoghurt for her to have because she's really picky. We stuck with salad for tea last night. Was easy and met all requirements.
  9. Can you call them to let them know? However I'm not one to normally think to sue anyway.
  10. I feel for you. I'm actually upset that mine was 7 before I knew she was coeliac so I can't even fathom how you must feel!
  11. I'm not Coeliac but won't lick them. Yuck.
  12. I was told it's like a pregnancy test in that if you test positive it's extremely unlikely that it's a false positive but if you test negative you can still be positive so further testing may be required.
  13. It can take up to 24 hours for some symptoms with my 8yo or up to 48 hours for other symptoms to start so prepare yourself for sickness!
  14. I chose not to have the biopsy for my LO who was 7 at the time. A positive is a positive. After 6 months off it the reaction to cross contamination affect on her was unbelieveable! I'm happy with my choice but it's up to you really.
  15. My coeliac child is only 8 so has never had wine or beer or anything else like it before in her life lol. I won't even let her drink the last of my coffee at her age let alone alcohol so I wouldn't know if it would affect her or not. I do know that it doesn't take much for her to be sick from cross contamination so I'm very careful with everything.
  16. We live in a rural area so none of our cheese is ok except that plastic soy stuff that snaps when you try to seperate each slice. It tastes like plastic too. The other little one won't eat cereal so I'll try for pancakes for her.
  17. My 8yo cannot eat tomatoes but corn on the cob is ok for her. Any corn for that matter. It won't be the same for everyone so everyone will have to be careful.
  18. It took 4m for my littlie to be better when we cut it out. Prepare for it to take more than 1 month!
  19. We have a child sleeping over with a regular diet but I need to make something that's gluten free and vegan that a child with a regular diet would like to eat as well. I was thinking maybe a stir-fry but I'm not sure. The child is 8 the same as mine. Also what do I feed them for breakfast? I have afternoon tea for saturday and morning tea for sunday...
  20. I've voted on behalf of my 8yo who has been diagnosed with autism, anxiety, adhd and ocd. Interesting!
  21. There are none available in Australia. Our health people are of the belief that even if America believes there are oats that are 99% gluten free it's not good enough to be available on our strict market. They may be labelled as low gluten (although we still don't have any) but not gluten free unless there's no trace of gluten at all.
  22. Oh wow we're really strict here with that.
  23. I can report them. I can't explain more about it. I don't know how it works where you are but you can't report them then have them removed from their position. My word against theirs and all that.
  24. Not sure what we're having tonight but tomorrow night it's my little girl's birthday so her choice is lentil rissoles with mashed potato, roast sweet potato, pumpkin and carrot and steame broccoli and zucchini so that's for tomorrow night. I think maybe a salad or something tonight, not sure yet.
