  1. Enjoy Poland! I am an American living in Germany due to husband's employment. We've lived here 10 years and my German is still poor, the Germans speek English very well. I think I learned more Italian in the 2 years we lived there! Lots of great opportunities for travel in Europe to take advantage of while you are overseas. I have not found it easy to eat...
  2. I did not read all the replies here but this definately sounds like malabsorbtion. I too did not have the typical symptoms but I was dizzy (every day), vertigo, blurred vision, depth perception was off, I could not think, my speech was messed up, I had hair loss, cramping & twitches in my muscles. Docs thought I may have had a stroke. I got ahold of...
  3. You said you were gluten free for 8 days and they had a scope to do yet? Stay on the glutens until all your testing is done. This was my mistake. The biopsy of the intestines is the best test but you need to still be on glutens. I too had symptoms, looking back. Docs did the same s they did with you....said it was stress, gave this and that and sent me...
  4. Are you also dairy intolerant? Some burgers are sprayed with dairy products. When I went off dairy this was one thing my doc told me to avoid because of it.
  5. Love your reply, go for it!!! Enjoy yourself regardless!
  6. I have also wondered how safe they are. At first I was trying all kinds of different products, making my own biscuits, etc. But I noticed that much of it was making my stomach feel odd- full, almost too full like it wasn't wanting to digest right especially the breads. So I have limited even the products labled gluten free.
  7. I miss be able to go to a restaurant and pick anything on the menu I want without having to think what is in it or how it is cooked, stopping by Cinnabon to pick up cinnamon rolls for breakfast, munching on a piece of pizza with my teen daughter, being able to have tortillas without making them myself, and my night time snacks.
  8. I visited the us this past summer, first time since I was gluten free. If you are flying you can call your airline and request a gluten free meal, they are not too bad. I found wonderful success in going to restaurants and asking for their gluten-free menu. I was surprised how many waitresses and waiters understood the gluten free menu. I live in Germany...
  9. Maybe this is what happened. I had been lifting weights and had not lifted in months. I am always really careful not to hyper-extend but there may have been too much pressure on my elbow joints perhaps.
  10. I found it and read the list and I am more than willing to bet this has been my problem. I did a liver cleanse back in Nov that made me super sensative to almost everything it seems. We went to Greece for the weekend a few weeks ago, we live in Germany. I felt great! It seemd to me like the sun was helping my body absorb the nutrients which I have had alot...
  11. Oh my word, you described in prfect detail what I have been doing. My husband was put on a vegetarian diet so I ahve been trying all kinds of veggies and lately been eating lots of zucchini, tomatoes and cumcumbers. And I added Omaga 3 into my supplements so I have been receiving the oil as well. I will look up the sulpher pills and the diet. Thanks so much...
  12. Perhaps someone can help with this! I have been having an odd bone pain different than bone pain in the past. This started at my elbows and then would feel like something shattering thru my arm, very painful. It would last for a few seconds and would be gone and then return repeatedly for several days. I upped my B12 and vit D and was taking Advil to help...
  13. Hang in there! I just posted last week about the same type of lack of support from family. I think it is hard for people to understand unless they too are experiencing what you are. My daughters actually had problems with glutens first and I have to say I did not understand fully until I realized it was my issue too. Your best defense to feeling better...
  14. I'm an American living in Germany, just wondering if anyone else here is from Germany?
  15. You are definately having an allergy reaction. The heat in the ears and feeling like you are all sweaty is what I do when I eat chocolate, of all things, not fun! I get a milder reaction to dairy, I don't get the heat in the ears. With glutens and with dairy though I will feel strange feeling like I am going to break out in a sweat and then don't. Sounds...
  16. For any kind of muscle cramping, including feet I have increased my potassium and it has helped me.
  17. Right now you porobably should be thinking as much as possible how you can protect your stomach and get the proper nutrients your body needs. That's the frame of mind I had to have that helped me and it is not easy. I also went off dairy and gluten. My stomach was burning so bad and I didn't know why. Doc gave me prescription for acid reflux, it didn't feel...
  18. Thanks so much for your reply and all of the encouragement, it means alot!
  19. I have a family member who has actually told me if I would "stop obsessing" over things it would all go away. Stop obsessing? Geemany, I have tried so hard to be positive and have not shared near the degree what I have been thru. Got an email from the same family member in connection to the MRI telling me the tests were a waste of time and money. Guess I...

  21. This has been an incredibly hard journey! If it weren't for the support her I don't know where I would be. My family almost seems to not care. I keep telling myself they don't understand because they aren't living in my body and know just how sick I have been. From time to time though I have just wanted to crawl away from reality. I have known something...
  22. Thanks for the replies. I have had several things going on.....thyroid, parathyroid along with all the intolerances so I/docs are trying to determine what is linked to what. Had an MRI yesterday and hoping this genetic tesing my help with answers as well.
  23. Thanks again, will try it.
  24. Has anyone here did the cheek swap genetic tesing for Celiac? Did docs listen to the results?
  25. Is wheat grass okay for some with Celiac or a gluten intolerance?
