  1. Thanks so much for this info, I had this happen just this week and wondered what was going on. I wanted to clerify the mixture. Is it 1/2 tsp flaxseed oil and 3/4 safflour? I didn't understand the Omega 6 to 3, could you explain? Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the link, it should be interesting to see what comes of my MRI. I am really hoping that since I have been gluten free and my health has improved that maybe we can proceed in a positive direction.
  3. Sorry, did not save that link and could not find it in a search. However, I did find this in the process of my search and it answers my question: Open Original Shared Link Use This To Link To Spam.com/?Brain-And-Neurological-Problems-Affect-Almost-Half-Of-Celiacs-Even-With-A-Gluten-Free-Diet&id=904155
  4. My digestive issues will hit about 24 hours after getting gluten in my system. The stomach stuff doesn't last more than a day and I think this is why I had such a hard time figuring out what was wrong. What last for me is the dizziness and loss of memory. Those are my worst symptoms and I could be dizzy for 10 days or 3 weeks, depending.
  5. I am scheduled for an MRI, something doc wanted since I was having so much trouble with balance. He said he wanted to see if I had a stroke while taking a herbal cleanse product, all my symptoms at first (Feb) were being linked to the herbs. I have not been back to the doc since being on a strict gluten free diet and figured it was the glutens (or malabsorbtion...
  6. Not sure what is in Gaviscon. You are describing a reaction a couple of my family members have had to ibuprofen which is in Motrin and Advil.
  7. 24 hours after having gluten I will have a gassy stomach, sometimes diarrhea, odd headache, very tired, I am off balance, brain fog, and sometimes my blurred vision comes back.
  8. I am also on thyroid meds and take magnesium and do fine. Maybe it depends on the thyroid med? I do get feelings of depression when I have come in contact with glutens.

It does take awhile to figure out and I do understand your frustration. At one point I said I thought I would only be safe to eat baby food but of course I would never last a day. I hate to add to your list but here's s few more thing sto be very aware of and experiment with- high fructose....crazy, but it is the 3rd most common allergy in foods....it...
  10. Lots of reading.....there's great help here! Take a look at my blog. Not sure what you are dealing with but the info might help. Best to you! I found it was a matter of experimenting to find what worked.
  11. Yes, I have sinus issues and I have connected the worst pressure from congestion to the times I have been glutened. However, when I stay away from glutens I do not have sinus trouble. The last sinus bought I had I was so miserable, doc said he saw no presence of an infection but put me on anti biotics away, I was better in days. Because I have such trouble...
  12. Yes, definately an experiment to see what works for you. If dairy is making your belly feel sick I think you are in the right track by taking it out for now. One thing I noticed too when I was eating mostly meat, veggies and fruit is that if I had too much meat (over 6 oz) my stomach would not feel well, almost like it was too much, too hard to digest or...
  13. Try drinking Gatoraid to replace your electrolytes, it's helped me.
  14. Just wondering if anyone has had a high calcium level in their blood tests? Before I realized it was glutens giveing me issues and still on glutens my blood calcium was high. My parathyroid was tested and scanned, tests normal. The parathyroid regulates calcium to the body and seritonin to the brain and if the gland is diseased (most non-cancerous) the calcium...
  15. I have been experimenting to find what works since the original posting and perhaps this will help. I have increased my vit D and now am taking 2400 IU daily to try and relieve the balance issues, for the buzzing in my ears I have increased my B12 to 1000 mcg but don't take it at night as it causes me not to sleep restfully and am taking an iron supplement...
  16. I am fortunate enough to have family members who are both dairy and gluten intolerant and for those family members they understand and it is not an issue. The others have a much harder time relating and to be quite honest I think more of my family have an issue than they realize. I have learned not to talk about it, they don't understand and they don't want...
  17. While experimenting with my diet at first I decided to try some gluten intolerance aides.....as far as the bloating and gas they worked but it did not help with my balance issues which for me will be the very sign for me. I was so sick, it took me 3 weeks to regain my balance after that incident so I will stick to salads mostly when I eat out. I especially...
  18. Yes, I know what you are talking about....I also have not lost weight (gluten free since April) but my stomach has lost size, my hips fit in my pants better. I also went dairy free for 2 months....determined dairy was also a problem. I know the gluten and dairy digest differently and while dairy can cause the inmafmous digestive side effects much like a gluten...
  19. I love cheese and cream sauces, and that was the one thing that I thought would be hard for me to give up. However, as I stayed away, little by little I was feeling better, some of my symptoms were going away. My thought was just to heal, not knowing if the dairy was causing me real issues or not. After 2 months without dairy and then putting it back in...
  20. I too was sleeping 10+ hours a night, one of my first signs besides my blurred vision, and docs gave me prenatal vitamins but of course then no one knew what was going on and the real hard symptoms had not hit yet. The tests are not always reliable which you will read if you keep searching for info about testing so be very careful when you get your results...
  21. I normally will have a reaction about 24 hours later but this last time I got it almost 48 hours later, not sure what causes it. I had to really think what I had eaten and I knew it could not be anything in the 24 hours previous so went to the previous day and I had questioned a dish, sure enough. It was weird though.....I probably was more dizzy than normal...
  22. Yes, caused me all kinds of trouble.

    ARCHIVED Vision

One of my vry first signs two years ago was vision problems. Went to eye doc and nothing was wrong with my eyes. That didn't explain the blurry vision and sometimes double vision. At it's worst I was having vertigo, just real weird stuff happening like a white wall behind a person would make it hard for me to see the person, going down a escalator my eyes...
  24. Besides laying off glutens in the beginning, realize my stomach was so bad that I was taking 2 prescribed acid reflux pills plus taking 2 doses of Pepto a day, I stayed away from any foods that were acidic....there is a whole acidic food list you can find on the Internet thru a search. And I laid off all dairy. I also found a "gut health" product I found...
  25. Vitamins saved me, in all seriousness. My body was not absorbing nutrients, to the point of bone loss, as I had no idea I had an intolerance and alot of damage had taken place in the process. In my case my body was showing signs of the malabsortion and with every symptoms I found it linked to a vitamin or mineral defiency. When I started taking the extra...
