  1. It involves the anti-inflammatory component in certain foods, kind of like over doses on asprin if you eat too much or have problems with it. Things like oranges, blueberries, strawberries, tangarines, tomatoes, zucchini, red wine (some sites say all alcohol), canned green olives and alot more. We had gone on vacation and to keep safe I was eating lots...
  2. You may want to try going off dairy until your system has a chance to heal itself. Dairy can be real hard on your stomach and if you are new to the gluten-free diet you will find that many sensitivites may follow, dairy is common. You can try dairy free butter, cheeses and even soy, almond, or coconut milk. I did this for 2 months when I first started...

    ARCHIVED Im Sick

Do you have problems with dairy? That is the first thought that comes to my mind at a salad bar besides possible cross contamination. What kind of dressing did you use? Is it possible you have problems with soy (in mayo) or high fructose (in ketchup, BBQ sauce, fruit drinks). Sometimes dressings can have these in them.
  4. You're not alone. I tried to tell my doc all that had happened and he was only interested in "what was causing me issues now." Basically, let's treat the symptoms without finding the source of the problem. I have said many times if they can't prescribe something for it, they ar lost. I hate to sound like i have little faith but it is amazing now that I look...
  5. I had the same problem when I first went off glutens feeling so hungry. One of the other members here actually explained what happens in the body, it is a process. The toes could be a couple different things. Toes can tingle if your calcium levels go too low. You want to make sure you are getting enough vit D to help absorb your calcium. GOOGLE "L-carnitine...
  6. I could have easily written your post. You are dealing with the very issues I have been for the past 7 months. My docs have not helped me much at all. I am curious what my MRI indicates to them when I see them at my next appt. The eye pain that you are having.....is it like a needles nd pins poking?. I was also having this in between my toes and my fingers...
  7. Have you heard of WSN Nerve Support Formula? Most of my deficiencies were linked to the very vitamins you mentioned as well as potassium. I read that vit B has a hard time absorbing into our system in supplement form as there was something else it needed to help absorb.....can't find my notes now to reference, it may have been methylcobatamin, don't quote...
  8. Thanks Bea, this is something actually that I was pondering, wondering if the salicylate sensativity could be causing more of my neuro issues than I was aware of. I have a long list of foods I have taken out of my diet because of the senativity and quite honestly I am feeling much better. Is it possible that this also could be affecting my balance, do you...

    ARCHIVED Anxiety

I did the same. I finally had to start reading every label......surprisingly enough found wheat flour in my cooking spray. But in the process of experimenting I also learned that I am sensative to high fructose, dairy and salicylate. The last one was the hardest to figure out. So it could be that your diet isn't as tight as it needs to be or you could have...
  10. Sure! It might not be fun for a few weeks but eventually it would pass.
  11. Are you also off dairy?
  12. Really? Wow! I just did connect my itching to this but this may also explain why the ringing in my ears has not stopped. I thank you for this reply!
  13. Just curious what happens in the body that takes 3 weeks of being dizzy, issues with speach and terrible memory issues after being glutened? Does it take this long for a small amount of gluten to work itself out of the body? I have had food poisoning several times and it's normally over in 24 hours.
  14. Your story is a familiar one. I too was looking for answers, docs sent me away saying it was this, that and the other. I finally got so sick I was in ER, this was 7 months ago. I have had so many blood tests, CT scans, MRI, etc. Docs did test me for celiac after I was on a gluten-free diet. Tried to go back on to repeat the test and got sick all over again...
  15. I would say the tequilla and the wine were fine. What else though was on the chicken? This is the hard part of eating out and going to parties. If you are uncertain, don't take the chance. Could you also be sensative to something more than gluten? Like dairy, soy, high fructose. They can cause issues as well.
  16. Dizziness, depression, foggy thought processes get me from High Fructose as well as glutens. If your gluten diet is tight, you have read every label, and are sure what you have put into your body it could be high fructose which is in BBQ sauce, teryaki sauce, etc.
  17. When I first suspected something was wrong with me, I thought it was meat and fat but I wasn't able to link it consistantly. I too felt like the meat was heavy on my stomach and not digesting properly. What I found out thought is that alot of what I was eating was having a hard time digesting as my system was messed up. When I took dairy and glutens out of...
  18. I too ended up in the hospital, went thru so many tests, docs found nothing. My kidneys were acting up and at first they thought it was stones, I have a problem with stones as well. My pancreas was swollen, my blood pressure was high (never had it before), and my gallbladder was swollen. These were linked to herbs in a liver cleanse I did. My stomach was...
  19. A week was not enough for me to notice a difference. My stomach was a mess. It was at the 3 week point I started noticing change for the good.
  20. Last week I was right where you are right now. What I know is when I get gluten my spirits go in the toilet, I get so depressed. No matter what I do I cannot pull myself out of the bad mood. My body hurts on top of it and life in general just stinks, I am grouchy and know it but can't seem to change that either. My speach even gets messed up so spening time...
  21. Goodness, sorry to hear! I too love Indian food, miss nan. I personally have wondered if there is any flour used to thicken their sauces. Curious, how long will your symptoms last normally? I have the same symptoms and am off-balance and become depressed which will last 2-3 weeks. I am not a beer drinker and never have been but 2 weeks ago I consumed...
  22. Try to be patient with yourself. I do understand exactly what you are saying. I get so depressed when I get glutened. My speach and balance are affected and I too feel like I am losing my mind and do crazy dumb things like leaving on burners and buying food for a planned meal twice. I sometimes wonder if I am ever going to figure it out but then when I get...
  23. My doc prescribed a prenatal vitamin for me that works well. I was taking Nature's Way Alive multi vitamin but it has wheat grass in it and I was not sure what might be doing to me so I switched.
