  1. Wow! Thank you so much :) How can I figure out what the egg is used for in recipes? Forgive me, I never thought much about what eggs do before I found out that I was allergic to them! I'm guessing that it works as a leavening agent in breads & cakes. Anywhere else I need to worry about leavening? I never thought much about milk...
  2. Sunni - A *tablespoon* per egg? Doesn't that give it a chemical taste? Do you use such a large amount even when the recipe calls for multiple eggs? This one called for 3 - and that would have been 3 Tablespoons - which seems like an awful lot! Anyone - I was really unhappy with my ener-g foods egg replacer and bought some tofu yesterday...
  3. Hey guys I have contacted one of the founders of the Celiac Society and told him that I'd posted his site here. Then I sent him a bunch of responses I've gotten from various companies when I asked them about their gluten-free status. I told him that *you* guys would be a great source of other responses - since I'm sure you have emailed lots of companies...
  4. Ya, that's weird. I'd never heard of Splenda containing gluten! Hmm... I imagine it is on the list because it "can't be verified" (?) Who knows! This site does say that it "errs on the side of caution" for those who are ultra-sensitive to gluten. I like that. I don't have such easily discernable symptoms when I get glutened - so I would like...
  5. Laura - Do you have this link? Open Original Shared Link It has a great list of what fillers are safe, in addition to a pretty big safe drug list (including companies). I don't know if you already know about this link - but it's the best one I've seen - Michelle
  6. Hey I found this really cool website!!! It's called CeliacSociety.com and they make this whole trying-to-find-out-what-the-manufacturer-is-thinking thing so much easier! Here's a copy of their homepage (today): We have: 2902 gluten-free products 27 restaurants with gluten-free menu items 72 manufacturer's comments Welcome to the...
  7. Sorry Abby! I would have responded if I'd known! Please forgive. - Michelle
  8. LOL - Thanks Ian, I needed that! - Michelle
  9. When I am having troubles with my computer, I usually go to TrendMicro for their free online scan. They pick up viruses & spyware that my VirusScan Program misses. If you want to try them out - here's the website: Open Original Shared Link My boyfriend told me about their site a while ago. He's got a serious geek streak But damn is he smart...
  10. I'm banning Tropicana on principle! They can take their Pure Premium and stick it!
  11. Just wanted to clarify that you are talking about the Minute Maid (from the Coca Cola company) being safe - *not* the Tropicana - Michelle
  12. Hey guys - Through my bloods test I discovered what foods I'm allergic to. Because some of my reactions are delayed ("delayed onset hypersensitivity"), I would otherwise have no idea what food was causing what problems. But now that I know what I'm allergic to, I've discovered the wildest stuff! Maybe this isn't wild to you, but to me it was really...
  13. Tiffany - Thanks so much for always being so generous with your insight I really appreciate everything that you said - and you helped me to put things into perspective. I'm so glad that you are here, you are always so kind & thoughtful! Jen - Thanks for your understanding! I'm sorry that I never posted on your huge list of allergens. I remember...
  14. Carrie - Wow, I so know what you mean when you say you are getting tired of dairy & gluten in everything! I've also got the egg & sesame allergies so finding safe stuff is not easy for me at all It sucks! I was drinking their new "Light & Healthy" (Healthy.. ya right! NOT! ) that has 1/2 the calories & sugar. I think I probably...
  15. Here is a link I just stumbled across: Open Original Shared Link - I added this to my favorites list so fast that my keys smoked This is copied from their homepage, each topic has a link: Welcome to Gluten Free Drugs A source of information for gluten free drugs ...

We are able to confirm that Coca-Cola classic, caffeine free Coca-Cola classic, Coca-Cola C2, Diet Coke, Diet Coke with Lemon, Diet Coke with Lime, caffeine free Diet Coke, Sprite, Sprite ReMix...
  17. Thanks guys - but I think I just figured out what's going on Please see my post on "Tropicana" and don't drink it! Not safe!!! I've been feeling this way for about a week or two (?) - which, makes sense, considering that's about the same time we bought the orange juice. Note to self: most Tropicana contains gluten! I can't believe I missed that...
  18. Here is my reply from Tropicana: Hello Michelle: Thank you for contacting us about Tropicana products. We recognize that it is important to provide consumers with information so that they can make informed choices about the products they purchase. We are currently in the process of evaluating all of our products for the presence of the top...
  19. Merika - Don't slam your head on the table Your family is so lucky to have such a vigilant woman to help them with their problems. Sometimes people make mistakes. Be kind to yourself. Think instead of how often you protect them instead of the rare occassion when you miss something. *hug* - Michelle p.s. I would love, more than anything...
  20. Maybe you guys can help me understand this. A little while ago I seemed to lose interest in life. I'm not exactly sure what's happened but I am having a really hard time right now. It's not that I feel terribly ill, or that I'm unbelievably depressed - just that I am completely lacking passion & desire for just about everything. Even little...
  21. I'm allergic to all forms of dairy - including the components whey & casein. I found out by means of an ELISA blood test (through US BioTek labs). Otherwise I would not have known! How wild is that? I had guessed that I was lactose intolerant, but had no idea about the allergy - and that I was actually causing trouble for myself while ingesting huge...
  22. Hahaha Love it! That chreese stuff is nasty. Don't recommend it! Blech! If you do try it - don't expect it so taste *anything* like cheese. - Michelle
  23. My boyfriend is paralyzed from the chest down. So I have a really good understanding of being with someone who has limitations. When our relationship began, I had no idea how complicated life would be with someone who has so many ... complications. But I went into it with the idea of "Okay, this probably wont be easy like the other relationships that I...
  24. Merika, I am so sorry that you have to go through this! I am not married, nor have I ever been - but I am in a relationship now that began about 15 months ago. I live with him some of the time (about 3 or 4 days a week - or more, depending on what's going on in my life) and I imagine it's pretty much what a marriage would feel like! So, hopefully...
  25. Thank you to everyone who's said that they've appreciated my posts here. I spent a lot of time researching the claims from LUAP and just trying to find info on L-glutamine. It means a lot to me that people are able to use that info in their lives I hope that it helps you! Forgive me for my rage in that last post please, I was really exhausted &...
