  1. I really have no idea about Tge bloodwork. Most people would say it shouldn't but who knows. The skin biopsy definitely not. The iga is stored in the skin and you had an active rash, which means it was there. There is a high false negative rate for DH dx, it's unknown why - incorrect biopsy technique, reading the sample, or if it is that rare. I'd say...
  2. It can randomly come and go. Would make sense yours "goes" since you're gluten-free.
  3. We'll find out, though it will be muddled. Last TPO I had was when I was dx'ed with Hashis. They ran another one last week-2.5 months gluten-free and after being on thyroid meds for years. In 6 months I will have it run again and we'll see if they've fallen and if I can reduce meds.
  4. I have some pics bit haven't been officially diagnosed. Derm is waiting for the next big eruption. I can show what happens after 2 weeks on the low iodine diet....
  5. Thanks. And fortunately and unfortunately I do have a clear head. It would be nice to have a drink...it would be nice to give him a drink....I found holistic pet store and I will be going there to get something mild to help him relax. My poor old guy, I swear he was a puppy yesterday.
  6. So, here I am without a headache for the first time in days, lots to do.... And the dog woke me up at 3 am pacing and panting and wanting constant touching. He never does this. So, this hasn't stopped, he goes in and out, is acting a bit disoriented and just not right...no diarrhea, has an appetite, and only sleeps if I sit down on the floor with him...
  7. Uhm, you need a specific test for this called TPO. I've never heard of it being diagnosed symptomatically. Perhaps it can be, but never heard of it.
  8. It's specific, called TPO.
  9. Oh, if you are interested in pursuing the estrogen thing read one of dr. John Lee's books about natural progesterone cream. It can work wonders.
  10. Wow. I need some of that foot powder. Wonder what's in it.,. As far as taking vitamins they helped me sleep, didn't keep me up. As far as the thyroid goes insomnia is a CLASSIC symptom, and the problems you are having warrant a trial run. If your doc won't prescribe it, find one who will. You may discover it helps other things too. And get your tests...
  11. There is a link with "wide awake at night" and untreated thyroid disease. Some treated thyroid patients also get insomnia from the medications, and sometimes reducing the dosage helps or switching to a slow-release formula. On top of that, vitamin deficiencies can lead to insomnia. I was struggling after gluten-free with insomnia and b complex, and cal...
  12. I agree, this is a potential problem. However, I haven't read his methodology.
  13. Good for you! Hope your tests come back with something conclusive.
  14. I was using henna hair color with wheat protein, skin care with de-glutened wheat protein, oats to wash my face, and oats in my skin care. I never noticed a problem until 3 months into gluten-free, then I started getting itching and swelling on the main contact areas these products touched. I stopped using them and it went away. So, you may or may...
  15. Just because your thyroid test results are in normal range, doesn't mean you aren't having symptoms. There are many Celiac and thyroid symptoms that overlap. Additionally, some people develop more or hyper sensitivity after going gluten-free.
  16. Ironically, I was more willing to experiment before the DH calmed down. I know I can't live in a food bubble, but wow I'm enjoying not being miserable.
  17. I admit, fast food restaurants now are grocery stores. At least that's how I look at it. It's difficult to be in a work situation - a 4 hour dinner meeting, at a nicecrestaurant in front if executives and whip out your own raw food. At least consistently... Then to be running out the door into a car for a 2 hour drive to another hotel that may or may...
  18. It isn't that easy with business affairs. Especially when you have no control over the venue and you are away from home, in a different hotel room every night.
  19. Because with today's lifestyle - work, travel, etc. that consistently takes people away from home it is almost impossible to not encounter processed food. I'm sure we've all encountered something like this when trying to order a simple salad. Order lettuce, tomatoes and receive dressing all over it or croutons or cheese..,. Processed food just seems to...
  20. That's a very good article. Thanks!
  21. Because it fits. Dr. Fasano's letter is based in part on scientific studies like the one I mentioned. A statistically insignificant number of people have a problem with 10 ppm. That's fine and dandy unless it's YOU they are talking about, then it becomes amazingly important. It also adds insult to injury that Dr. Fasano is a leader in celiac research...
  22. I washed the dog with shampoo containing wheat germ oil. My arms ached for a day. I was using face products that were "gluten sensitive safe". Thought it was ok (used it for years before knowing I had gluten issues). Suddenly, my eyes started swelling....so had to stop that. They use de-glutened wheat products and untested oats in the products. Read the...
  23. I guess I'm just bummed that now I'm leery of trying it. Have seen it around and figured I'd get around to it one day. I hate trying foods I see negative reports about, especially breads...because usually people can narrow down WHAT the problem ingredient is prior to eating it - soy, corn, xanthan gum, etc. And most reputable gluten-free breads disclose...
  24. I wasn't commenting on the letter. Besides, the letter correlated exactly with what I was discussing. So far everything I've read "in defense of 20 ppm" says the same thing. Nothing new in his letter. The point is that the defense is almost always based on two things - that it works for most and it's prohibitively expensive to want to reach for lower ppm...
  25. Could it have been bad fish? Or cc from the knife or mat getting wheat ingredients on it?
