  1. Funny and true!
  2. Well, I never got them till I started getting sick all the time. Got on thyroid meds and stopped getting sick. That said, the one year I did get it, I got pneumonia. I'm sure it wasn't the cause but it didn't stop whatever flu got me that lead to the pneumonia. Anyway, I react to so many things I just don't do it. I've read re: hypothyroid patients...
  3. My Mom would take offense to that! Her seahorse is still pretty!
  4. I think tats are beautiful; however, you may want to be aware they are considered autoimmune triggers. On the other hand, if you're Celiac you've already been "triggered".
  5. Well, sometimes if your system moves quickly D can be pretty acidic. Aside from that, there could be several explanations. Spicy food, etc. You may have hemorrhoids...
  6. Yep. Every day. I've heard Celiac is dx more in Europe by gluten withdrawal and challenge. Perhaps ask? I don't know if Enterolab takes orders from outside the US. It isn't expensive.
  7. Weird, huh? I've used that lotion for years.
  8. I agree a lot of Celiac goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. I see a lot of posters here who have a doc run a test (not even a panel), it's neg, then no other tests - malabsorption, biopsy, genetic. These people later go gluten-free and see results. I have a friend with Sjogren's and she and all her kids are suspect - doc ran "a test", which is negative....
  9. Well. I think it's 4 slices of bread for 3 months for best shot at antibody blood work. If you want info on how your intestines are doing, consider Enterolab. They do antibody, gene, and fat measurements from stool samples to determine those things (DNA is swab). No doctor needed.
  10. Hide your stuff or learn how to cook.
  11. It sounds like you're going in well prepared. I'd toss in genetic testing since you are already gluten-free. The most common vitamin deficiencies seem to be b vitamins, calcium, magnesium, vitamin d. Be prepared for pushback and state very clearly you want this testing. If doctor thinks otherwise, day ok test for that too. BUT I WANT THIS TESTING.
  12. Ok. Didn't use Devita at all yesterday. Used MyChelle last night and no "punched in the eyes" feeling/look this morning. Still aren't perfect, but better. Didn't get the drops yesterday...ran out of time. I'll get them today.
  13. I had it BAD. I had to drink 16 oz. Water upon waking, some crackers. No acidic foods early in the day. Mild breakfast - whatever soaks up acid for you. I had to drnk 8+ oz. of water every few hours and snack on mild foods. No spicy, acidic foods unless eaten with lots of other things. And I had to learn visualization - mind over body. I'd...
  14. Bea, thanks for all of the info. I spent a good portion of yesterday with D- from the liquid B complex. I know it was that - each time I took it my stomach got worse and worse. Anyway, I'll try chewable again (I have some but wanted liquid since it was supposed to absorb better). It helps me tremendously with SLEEP. I had a restless night - with it I sleep...
  15. So is the pylori to see if you have the bacteria to cause stomach ulcers?
  16. I doubt it with one sample. DH is a specific test. I don't know if it's compatible with the other. Call again and ask.
  17. Well, the link is to info about Prurigo. A differential is a suggested alternative diagnosis.
  18. DH. I had "lingering" thyroid symptoms - which turned out to be gluten- bit no one would have recognized it. No one recognized the DH, either. Just figured that was the obvious choice when gluten-free helped.
  19. Ironically, insurers would be ahead by testing (blood). If Celiac is caught, the treatment is non-prescriptive. Great for them. Also, prevents visits in the future for other conditions that require rx (ok, lots of stuff associated with Celiac but gluten-free solves a lot). Now, pharma wants you to sick with something they gave an rx for. And pharma is...
  20. On the flip side, if they'd run the numbers on those who go undiagnosed and have 50+ visits or procedures or bloodwork or rx for wrong diagnoses I bet they'd be ahead by ordering testing, especially for at-risk populations. But humans, especially the U. S., don't think that way. Corporations definitely don't.
  21. Yes, ragweed is in AZ. Hmm. It's been rainy here. I'm surprised my allergies are bad since my allergies always do better when it rains and gets rid of the dust. Our native ragweed, triangle bursage, blooms in the spring.
  22. Thanks. I'm in az and I don't think ragweed is bad here but I'll check. Used to live in TX and it was BAD there. I am on a very strong antihistamine (was supposed to help my DH but didn't), so I guess I already have an antihistamine in my system. Hmm? I'll try some eye drops and switch to the MyChelle and see. This just feels worse than other times...
  23. My eyes have been hurting, and I assumed I just need new glasses. Well, I'm sure I need new glasses, but.., This morning I woke up and felt like both of them, especially the left one, had been punched. I've been using Devita skin care on my face. They are "gluten sensitive" - which means the gluten has been separated from the wheat product, and they...
  24. See link. Open Original Shared Link One differential is DH.
