    Poppy seeds, hazelnuts, cashews, Pecans and sunflower seeds are low sals. Those you can take with you anywhere. Meat is low sal - take a bit of meat, low sal veg/fruit with you in a cold lunch box with an ice pack. You could make homemade apple chips from a low sal apple variety. If you have rice flour you could probably figure out a low sal/li chocolate...

    That sounds like hives. Except the freckling part. Hives can be caused by anything/nothing. There are heat hives, cold hives, pressure hives, stress hives....do antihistimines help?     Exactly. The fascinating if not devastating part. I wonder if Crohn's is sometimes "the next step" after ai (Celiac). When the body tires of attacking itself it moves on... Because if Crohns isn't truly ai and is an under active immune system, and Celiac is ai...those people with both are both over performing and under performing at the same time...

    Well, I am going to bet she develops symptoms. Most people do. They may not be the ones she thinks she'll develop, but she'll get something. The biggest thing, which is the hardest to explain, is that with Celiac and Hashis she is on the ai spectrum. Kids don't get it. Adults don't get it. Being ai is the bigger picture. Treating ai is the bigger picture...

    I think that is tbd. Generally, its in two different spots but I've been known to get some general nausea and d from pms. I have belly cramps and uterine cramps. I'm lucky.

    Are you making or buying your kefir? Have you considered water kefir? You can use the pearls in water. The only problem with milk is the iodine, if you are iodine sensitive. Or if you can't digest the milk....you can handle the milk but the iodine may be an issue.

    I am starting to think they don't know how to interpret labs and "think". My ND is great at thinking about the labs. Thankfully. And statistically thyroid problems are higher in women than men. I have no idea what's up with ignoring the dropping testosterone.

    We have Frost Gelato around here. Tons of flavors, most are gluten-free. They understand what you are talking about when you say gluten. Their scoops stay in the same bin...it only scoops your flavor all day. They do warn that some could fall in a bin from another bin, etc. but I've had great luck with them. I don't get toppings...     I know they tested you out the wazoo for iron but did they test your b's, D's, k, cal/mag? We are notoriously deficient in those too and getting up to the right levels could help your symptoms. A probiotic and digestive enzyme could help the gas, etc.

There's a list of safe/unsafe food ingredients that will help you at the grocery store. You'll probably develop your tastes...

    After a good glutening. Sorry....but if you get into it and have a major reaction you'll start creeping around it like its the embodiment of The Plague. I'd get DH from it - so I wore my gluten like a banner. Physical disfigurement goes a long way. But so does a debilitating stomach ache, urgent D when there's no bathroom, or a crushing migraine...

    I'm sorry. It sucks. I know you're trying not to, but if you could have a gluten-free brownie I'm sure it would help. Goodness, if I didn't have my crutches when going gluten-free my head would have popped! Would a King Arthur flour mix / cocoa brownie fit your diet right now? Sorry, I am an enabler....

    I know what you're talking about (because I've felt it and thought I had appendicitis) but this is definitely my stomach! . Way up right under the v of my ribs. I do think it's linked to my cycle. This is the first time I've had acid, though. The past few months it's just been horrid d - and I'd eaten something minty. I have no idea, really. Sigh...
