  1. Months. And then it comes back intermittently if you get glutened or go through a new "phase". Some people see bloat go away quickly. Just depends. No two people are the same.
  2. I think the iodone content depends on where it was harvested from. Sometimes sea salt will list the iodine content, other times not. If you have a problem with it, stop using it and switch to non iodized til you get things under control. Personally, sea salt was the first thing I ditched and last thing I went back to because it was so easy to eliminate...
  3. I had to take a few Tylenol during my withdrawals (mine was from a drug, actually) but it was still a part of detox. Didn't take much - just one or two for a few days. And do anything that works to make you feel better. Seriously.
  4. Hormel naturals are what I use, as well as Boars Head lunch meats, cheeses. Hormel naturals has a good bacon, too. Most lunch meats and bacons are gluten-free. I google the product name and "gluten free" and generally find the answer if in doubt. Lots of potato chips are gluten-free - Tostitos marks their basic bag as gluten-free. I didn't have an issue...
  5. And sometimes it's the inverse - after the flu my DH flared (when it hadn't flared while gluten-free).
  6. But what makes the breading stick??? I wouldn't be surprised if they use a wash, or add some flour - and either don't think about it or don't know it. And are they frying them? Is it a dedicated fryer?
  7. My allergies were much better after going gluten-free ...til I got glutened and spun into an ai attack. They seem to be better now, though, except on obvious days - windy, etc. Overall, better.
  8. I'm sorry. Yes, you need to keep eating it for testing. Rant and rave to get bloodwork fast so you can get off the ride. In the interim try digestive enzymes and probiotics. It may help a bit....and stop eating dairy (because that won't affect testing). And being sick on the road doubly sucks.
  9. Dapsone is classified as an antibiotic. Open Original Shared Link
  10. You'll have to google around for it but it was the same guy that has a recipe for cashew cream...highest ranked link, I think.
  11. Well, DH does that. Have you noticed a reaction to gluten? What about high iodone foods or high salicylates? If you aren't familiar with those, peruse the DH threads.
  12. The shower cap is a great idea. The hair is why I suggested a shower ASAP. If they are just spackling it's the lesser evil. What sucks is you'll be the one cleaning, regardless. But your best defense may be an offense - getting them to responsibly clean up after themselves will go a long way. When the crew cleaned up our house it was basic - dust,...
  13. I don't have experience with it but there are other meds that can be used. If you google DH treatments you may find a list of alternative rx, match that against your antibiotic.
  14. I saw a recipe for a vegan soup using cashew cream - I think it was leek & potato. It's an idea.
  15. I have a patch like that...kind of barely off-colored and rough? Doesn't itch much (comparatively speaking)? I call it my warning patch for iodine. Always pops up after sushi. It's in the same place I had much worse but doesn't ever get big like the others. For me, I judge it on how it acts. Does it react to gluten?
  16. Pamela's performs well but my family found it oddly salty. If you use it add the extra egg. I prefer homemade, too, but haven't found a "plain" gluten-free chocolate cake recipe I'm comfortable with. I trend to small treats, anyway, or flourless cakes, etc. KA is very good. Surprisingly good. Good enough I don't know if I'd bother trying to replace...
  17. Well, quite frankly if they're just patching nail holes that's manageable - or it would be for me. I even patched mail holes in that house without issue. When I reacted, it was from them literally ripping walls and floors out and there was a sheet of dust EVERYWHERE. If you wear rubber gloves/particle mask (just a dust mask) and dispose of the cleanup...
  18. You can't beat King Arthur, IMO.
  19. I hope you're successful one way or the other. Remember, though, your body can be very different now vs. 2 years ago. Though, if you were low then and haven't supplemented I can't imagine it would have improved.
  20. I'm sorry, dani. I hope this feeling passes for you. Do you have your lab results from 2 years ago for your thyroid? Is there any way you can get an independent lab to test your vitamin levels? If you can see deficiencies and substitute accordingly it may help. Low b's, d and iron can do terrible things to your mood, energy.
  21. I know. Bacon is an addiction. I'm stuck on applewood smoked. The Hormel doesn't suck (which was surprising). Hubs loves salty bacon like Italian cuts or Irish back. I can't do that much salt.
  22. Oh jeez. This hasn't happened to us before. I guess I'll just refrain from sucking on his tonsils immediately after a beer (even after brushing).
  23. That's just weird. Why would they do that since it can disfigure the color and make cloudy discharge? Try a sugar cured?
  24. Bacon is a curing process, otherwise it's just pork. There are different processes for curing. If you have bacon that works for you, keep eating it. But if it's salt cured then you might ask if it is iodized salt. Open Original Shared Link
  25. Most bacon is gluten-free. I use the Hormel Naturals brand (marked gluten-free) or Trader Joes. Now, they both may have salt in them but I doubt it's iodized because iodized salt isn't usually used for curing. But you never know.
