  1. Well, unless you are making your corn taco shells from certified gluten-free corn, and making your refried beans at home you are eating a regular amount of prepackaged foods - toss in the tofu, soy sauce (I assume gluten-free soy sauce) and cheese and it increases. Are you eating fresh fruits and veggies? What are your protein sources? Beans? Tofu? There...
  2. Wow. Have you read through the supersensitive section? Do you journal your meals? If I was you, I'd try something like the GAPS diet along with Bea's suggestions (however the two intersect).
  3. If you ate low in D and iron you need more than a multi. Daily I take 2000 d3, and 4x the rda of iron....and that was rx'ed by my ND. Plus a multi, plus flax seed oil, plus cal/mag.
  4. I have no idea, probably depends on where they send it.
  5. Learn to love inexpensive cuts of meat and the crock pot. That will get you a LONG way on a budget. And frozen veggies, and dried beans/peas.
  6. How are your vitamin levels? I had/have a very similar thing...got better going gluten-free. Disappeared when I added d3 and iron (which I was deficient in). It has been bugging me the last few weeks; however, I am pretty sure I got glutened do EVERYTHING is weird right now. Hormones fluctuating also makes mine flip flop.. Yeah, I'm female but guys...
  7. I'm glad you found such a gem in the cafe! However, that's unfortunate news about Carnival. I think there are several good reviews for them on here.... What ship were you on?
  8. I was prescribed antibiotics for my "skin infection" also.... Funny, I was allergic to the antibiotics and the "infection" went away when I reduced iodine....
  9. I would insist on having that rash biopsied since it came after you got back on gluten. In the beginning, my DH was not that itchy. And it made me sore. They were just weird spots under my arms. Before that they were itchy welts between my breasts and around my bra line. I have NEVER had the same opinion from two doctors who have seen them, and none of...
  10. When I add liquid to yeast I make it a bit warmer than my finger. Not hot, just warmer. I also rise my bread in the oven, I usually turn the oven on for 2-3 minutes, turn it off and turn the light on. I also put a pan of hot water in there on a bottom rack. But I live in AZ with zero humidity... The oven stays warm and calm, and works well for me. Again...
  11. Well, given your autoimmune history you're a likely candidate for either one. Did they develop while you were gluten-free or pop up after? I'd ask the doctor to take a scraping. Let's put it this way, if you want another confirmation of Celiac this may be your chance. If the test is positive for shingles you'll know it's shingles. If its negative, then...
  12. It's itchy and painful, especially in the evenings (for most). It fills with liquid, pops, refills (or more blisters form and they pop). In the beginning, I couldn't really see the blisters or notice the weeping. The blisters were minuscule. But they got bigger. Way bigger over the years. It can also change/evolve over time. Spread, blisters become...
  13. Or maybe you're having a cumulative reaction... That's what happens to me. I can't eat out more than 1x a week, can't eat too many processed mainstream supposedly gluten-free foods (like m&m's)....if I do I start having weird things happen. Or, you could be developing a nut allergy. Lay off them a while or switch brands and see what happens...
  14. Did you read the ingredients on the cashews? I have found wheat in some more common grocery store brands. And peanut m&m's are supposed to be gluten-free but some people experience cc issues with them. I have decent luck with them but I've learned never to repeatedly eat any mainstream candy, even if it's gluten-free. I can only take so much before...
  15. How does the doc know they are shingles? Guess what my DH looked like in the beginning??? Yep, shingles. Did he test you for shingles??? Oh, and BTW do you know where MY DH OCCURS??? Around my bra line/under arms.
  16. Digestive enzymes helped me with c. Everyone is different, though. I take both enzymes and probiotics now. It took a few months of gluten-free for my c to start clearing up, and then I panicked because I was so used to anything other than c being d.... Anyway, it's a roller coaster. And apples. Eat apples.
  17. One other thing - don't expect to be perfectly gluten-free in the beginning. It's overwhelming. You'll make mistakes but you'll learn and you'll get better at it as you go.
  18. First, welcome. Second, breathe. Third, peruse the main site for info about eating gluten free :https://www.celiac.com/categories/Gluten%252dFree-Cooking/ Fourth, stay out of the Target processed food aisle for now. Well, probably forever... In the beginning stick with whole foods - meat, veggies, fruits. Learn to read labels (see list of gluten...
  19. Leftover turducken, mashed potatoes and green beans. And it's in the 70's here and I'm in shorts!
  20. I would get back on the diet before you assume you are going into menopause. You probably are having hormonal issues, the question is WHY??? Gluten is probably playing a huge role. Celiac is a common cause of infertility as you well know, and I know I certainly have sub-par hormone levels. I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriages.
  21. Have you had your thyroid checked? And if you think you're pre menopausal are you seeing a GYN or Endo? Have you had your vitamin levels checked? And if you are Celiac and are not on your diet there's a very good chance it's internal (assuming you've eliminated gluten and other known allergens for you from body care products). Only way to know is to...
  22. Not just b's but iron and d can contribute to neuro. My b's test fine, I'm low on iron and d and supplaments help tremendously.
  23. My freezer is so full I can't put anything else in it. Fridge is getting empty. Pantry is improving. I think we're having Turducken and mashed potatoes for dinner. I have a ton of frozen holiday food in my freezer... Had spam and eggs (eggs mixed with leftover egg whites), and mimosas (leftover champagne) for breakfast. Using milk and cream in coffee...
  24. Spam and scrambled eggs/egg whites Apple Hash browns Mimosas I'm in a sodium/fat induced haze.
  25. They say it's liver congestion... And liver congestion or impaired function is a byproduct of Celiac/NCGI. My "scent" issues are improving but it was hideous for a while.
