  1. Couldn't have said it better myself! That's exactly what I do, luckily I eat with the same people everyday, but when it gets changed up from time to time and I get questioned I just give the short answer. Or say, I've been bringing my lunch since grade school, why stop now? Haha a little humor never hurts! (I didn't know I was celiac then, but mom knew I...
  2. I love reading a series and then seeing the movies!! I loved the Hunger Games books and the movie as well, let me know what you think when you see it!! No spoilers here! ? What is this about another batman movie!? I missed that, I better put it on my list!
  3. I can't wait to see Magic Mike!! Hehe the preview looks good, and there's actually a story line. Anyone seen it or other ones? Any you're excited to see coming soon?
  4. I have to agree, bringing your own from home is the safest bet, I do this frequently. How about you call the brother's significant other and offer to bring something? I'm forever taking atleast a salad, that way I know I can eat whatever I bring. I've learned the hard way a couple times, so now I just make sure there is always something I can eat. Lol
  5. Heehee I just LOL'd!! Love it! ?
  6. Great info, thank you all for your input.
  7. At this present moment it is down to 74 here in Northern Maine, Was mid 80's earlier. Very nice day, not too hot and not too cold!
  8. Haha! It was mid 80's today with 30% humidity. Pretty nice actually, it does get hotter and a lot more humid but not for an extended period of time. 95 on a cool front is probably our hot days haha! Those are all great ideas, thank you so much for your input! We don't have any hippie places here, BUT my friend owns a hippie coffee shop/eatery just...
  9. Great info, I had questions about paleo as well, I'll check it out!
  10. I am actually having a shepherd's pie like dish this evening! I was intending on grilling hot dogs but this sounded better lol it's chicken, layered with onions, green beans, carrots, and sweet potato on top. A little garlic, cracked pepper and chilli powder to taste. Can't wait to try it!
  11. I should add that I do have an awesome support system between friends and family, but they have no idea how it feels, they just cheerlead for me haha good people, I <3 them! There has got to be someone besides me in Northern Maine that has Celiac or atleast GI...ya know??
  12. No, not your fault lol I was glad to read your info because You've done it before and know the ins and outs! That's what I was looking for and you nailed it. The responsibility is immense, which unfortunately I just don't like to be responsible for others lol selfish, yes you can call it that. I just feel that everyone should be responsible for themselves...
  13. Thank you! I think that has completely deterred me from starting my own haha there's just too many unknowns and I'm not really interested in being responsible for others misfortune. Perhaps someday someone will be brave enough to start up here, or expand the southern chapter up my way. Hmm, we shall see.
  14. They all look delicious!
  15. Maybe it would be worth keeping track of the ingredients and see if any are repeating on list when you feel ill? This might give you an idea as to something you're sensitive to besides gluten. Just a thought
  16. Tonight looks like red hot dogs and cape cod chips haha healthy huh?
  17. I go through the same thing, and always go back to the whole foods. It's the only time I really feel great, but you're right, I haven't felt as good as I remember pre celiac in a LONG time. Getting there slowly, I hope!
  18. Haha yes, one of my friends is a CPA and she had a rough time this year as well! She dreads tax season every year!
  19. I love that it autocorrects from bloating to locating haha can't win for losing some days!
  20. I start. Locating the week before, to the point that I look preggers, not so awesome. The day before I will be struck with C, and then one the "cleanse" begins its D for a couple days. I pretty much feel like I'd like to die due to the pain, but it's not the same as gluten. I'm pretty sure it's hormones that cause the fluctuations but I have been glutened...
  21. Unfortunately I don't, but that sounds like a great trip! Let us know what you find on your adventure!
  22. Oh goodness, it does seem as though this could get pretty hairy rather quickly. I do have a tax professional, so I'll question her and see what she thinks. Thank you for the input, not sure if it's for me but definitely worth looking in to!
  23. YES!!! I count the gluten-free frozen pizza haha, phew, glad I'm not alone on that one!! I know I'm not the only one eating it because it's stocked on Tuesday, I buy one but when I go back later in the week it's sold out....so who is buying the other 8-10 pizzas!?!?! They're out there, I just know it! I am in a small town as well, we have 3 grocery stores...
  24. I'm a bit unclear, is this only possible in Canada? A lot of the posters were Canadian in one of the threads. It sure seems like a lot of work, makes me wonder if it would be worth it.
