  1. Just reading the little blurb about Leptin and its affects, I realized I have had some of those eating symptoms, so I definately ordered the book. It sounds very credible and backed up by scientific information.
  2. Everyone's progress is awesome! Just think, it only gets better...
  3. I took the weekend off from carrots and ate lots of cheese and peanut butter. I made peanut butter brownies. They were okay, but I guess for how strict the diet is, that is about as good as it gets as far as desserts.
  4. natural peanut butter, butter, CHEESE, meat.... I find it very easy to get too many calories on this diet, so keep working at it. keep snacking all day long.
  5. I was wondering where the best internet source is that will list the common terms in medications that contain gluten.
  6. So I just re-started the SCD a few weeks ago and I have been sticking to the basics of mush carrots, apples, chicken, hamburger, cheese and eggs. Yesterday i went to eat my normal routine of carrots and I began to dry heave. I have been eating TOOO many carrots.. lol. Just had to tell the other fellow SCDers who can sympathize with the beginning stages...

  9. I agree. It is a wonderfu depiction.
  10. It is easy to gain/keep weight on. Think peanut butter, cheese, raisins, yogurt from whole milk if you like, meat...
  11. This is what the breaking the vicious cycle website says about sucralose.... and they label it as ILLEGAL, so please watch out with the liquid splenda stuff..... Seth writes: Splenda (sucralose) has been extensively discussed and it is not allowed for several reasons. First, most splenda is packed in a filler called maltodextrin. This is a starch and...
  12. LOL about turning orange.... I have eaten 9 lbs of carrots in 3 days... poop is bright orange, but no pigmentation difference yet.... or is there and I can't tell on myself???
  13. I am curious... what are the ingredients in the liquid Splenda? I know sucralose is illegal, so is it just saccharin or someting???
  14. That is fine as long as they are cooked really, really well especially in the beginning. Your body will let you know if it can handle it or not.
  15. Think really, really cooked and mush carrots with simple, plain burgers, chicken... ALso, homemade yogurt ASAP.
  16. First off let me start by saying I am so happy that you are on this diet. You WILL heal if you stick strictly to the diet. As for the questions: 1. improvement for me happened about 2 weeks after starting with the homemade yogurt. I was on the regular diet for a few weeks waiting for the yogurt maker, but after I started with that, everything was awesome...
  17. I am on my third day of the diet and feeling great! Just made my first batch of yogurt.... I love this diet, but I forgot how labor intensive it is. I peeled, diced and cooked 5 lbs of apples to make homemade applesauce. All of that work for what seems like 1 cup of product... lol!
  18. THe Chocolate THunder was AMAZING!!! It was worth every calorie!
  19. I just started noticing the problem after my 21st birthday. My mother made brownies (not gluten-free) for my whole basketball team, and brought me baby carrots. SO, the next bag of M&Ms I found, I devoured!
  20. I totally agree about "eating until it is gone just because it is gluten free" no matter how full I am!
  21. I just started SCD yesterday! I am so excited to feel awesome again, although two days in a row of pureed carrots isn't the best tasting thing ever.... but I am so happy to be eating so healthy again!
  22. I have been reading people's posts for about a year now and the conclusion I have come to is that the people who eat a lot of the processed gluten-free cookies, cakes, brownies, ice cream.... tend to have a longer recovery time. If you eat healthy fesh foods, I can only see it helping one recover faster. I just have to advocate the SCD diet. If you want...
  23. I am so excited that so many people are going to try this diet. I am in my last week of games for basketball, so I will be able to start SCD over this weekend and continue it through the summer. I love this diet and I cannot wait to do it again.
  24. This diet will allow you to be able to eat dairy after you are on it for a few months. Think of it as a "resetting" of your intestional capabilities!
  25. You can cure IBS. Look at the Specific carbohydrate diet at www.breakingtheviciouscycle.com. it is amazing and really, really works!!!!!!!
