  1. It's red dye #3 that has the iodine in it (in the USA). Sometimes they coat pills with red coloring & remember that red is used to make orange coatings. GFMO, I did the same. I have no answers except to get OxiClean Max Force stain remover to get the blood out of the sheets. The CVS brand of Caladryl (copycat) worked for us pretty well but you have...
  2. I got the Afterglow & love it! I don't put it on very often but it does a great job of covering up my "sun spots" or liver spots or whatever you want to call them & I have some VERY dark ones on a VERY pale face. I got just one of their little starter kits so I could try it w/o sinking tons of money into it. The starter kit has no shadow or mascara...
  3. Hugs for your brave little boy!
  4. Good tactic mindwarp! It's worth a shot jlaw.
  5. Problem is jlaw is in India so I don't know that there is much recourse for her over there.
  6. The biopsy HAS to be taken from CLEAR SKIN ADJACENT TO AN ACTIVE LESION. So the 2 biopsies he did don't count. I feel like the arrogant doctor did this on purpose.
  7. Someone posted a medical explanation about why dh itches so much worse at night or when we sleep & it does have to do with hormones but not necessarily menopausal hormones.
  8. I think most of us pop the blisters. I know mine feel like I'm being stung by fire ants & you will naturally end up scratching & eventually pop it but after living with dh I have found, for me, that popping them ends the fire ant sensation for a few hours then the intense itching sets in. I have tried letting the blisters run their course & they...
  9. Some ppl with dh find they do not need to go low iodine but many of us have found iodine to make our dh worse. I can't really explain why iodine is a factor; I have never read anything explaining exactly why it affects us. And as to how much or which iodine conditioning foods need to be limited depends on the individual. If you want to see if iodine is a...
  10. It's been a long road for you Diane. It's good to hear you're almost done itching!
  11. And you have the most important rule down pat ---- compromise. 39 years here.
  12. Sounds like some progress is happening. Let's hope it continues. HATE the breaking in a new doc!!!!!!
  13. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, tongue cleaners!!!!!! They are FABULOUS aren't they? I mean they're kinda gross but a wonderful tool! No more waking up with morning breath when you use one of those. You can wake up, roll over & kiss w/o even having to hold your breath. No thanks needed dear girl but certainly appreciated. Others did for me what I'm trying to do for...
  14. You have a wonderfully supportive husband! Yay for him & yay for you!!!!!! That fact alone makes your journey so much easier. Some people don't get that kind of support from their spouse. Don't forget to give him some extra special attention sometimes.
  15. See? You can laugh at yourself. That's improvement! Hey, sometimes you just gotta laugh or we'll go nuts! Keep pushing on through this hon. Your family ---- sad that they don't "get it". Perhaps one day they will. Friends ---- you will lose some who just can't or won't "see" it. But if that's all it takes to make them run then they really weren't the...
  16. Cool about the Redmonds salt! YAY! That's one for our side. Okay. I do understand about gluten head or brain fog as we call it. Maddening isn't it? Makes you feel like a complete idiot when you know you have the intelligence to understand all this stuff but your brain will not co-operate. Oh, okay, so you brush your teeth in the shower. Not weird...
  17. Wow Katty, I'm surprised this stomach/bathroom thing is happening to you. Not surprised at your hubs --- he's the one with the dx --- but you, now that's not something that usually happens (I've never heard of it happening) with non celiacs or non celiac gluten intolerents when they remove gluten from their diet. So this leaves us with 2 possibilities......
  18. I don't know hwy I am continually shocked by the horrid, unfeeling things that doctors say but I am. It makes my stomach churn with what he said to your son. I agree --- report him --- absolutely! I have no advice on the prednisone as I have never been on it nor Dapsone. I was on Dexamethasone & it worked for the itch but the second I went off it the...
  19. Yes, I did & that used to be on the thyca.org list & that's why I wouldn't eat them but thyca changed the list somewhere along the line & now they are not on the list. Soooooo????????
  20. Just those beautiful words you wrote make us better bartful! Thank you.
  21. I'm not sure it's the Dapsone making the burning. When my hubs is at this stage he gets terrible burning. More burning rather than itching. He describes it as feeling like a cigarette is burning him.
  22. Okay. I'm not going to stop dear. I don't think you are disagreeing with me & even if you did ..... it's not against the law. Good things can come from hearty discussions batting things back & forth. Oh I know the let's blame everything on menopause diagnosis. AND the "let's put you on antidepressants!" Very gleefully said & with a crazed look...

  24. I do understand. Now I AM crying a river. I know it's painful as all get out. Yes, you have to ride out the withdrawal from the steroids. And it's going to be hell. How about coating down with plain old fashioned Vaseline? I can't stand that you are going through this. Sorry; I have to cry.
  25. The problem with the store bought dairy Ann is the IODINE. And the iodine fires the rash. Well, you need to make sure what little kibble you feed the cats is gluten free kibble. And if you feed canned then it also needs to be gluten free. That is how you keep from getting cc'd. You hubs showers but does he brush his teeth before kissing you when he...
