  1. YAY! Doing a happy dance here. Woooooo Hooooooo!
  2. Oh! That is easier than I thought. Thanks Karen! Yes, Peter, this is exactly what I want to be able to do. To type between each one Or even before the first one. YOU are a smarty pants! Thanks all!
  3. I have looked for instructions but I didn't find any. If there are some then please point me there --- I am happy trying to learn it from instructions. But darn it! I do not know how to use the multiquote feature & it would be so nice to & make things much easier at times. Can someone please tell me how it is done? Thank you.
  4. Yes, moneek. The dh photo bank is pretty much so that people coming on the site can go directly to it to see photos of dh in it's many, & varied presentations. It was not intended for a discussion thread other than a short comment here or there. New people wanting to look at or compare photos would have to wade through a whole bunch of discussion in order...
  5. If the test comes back positive you will have your answer as there are virtually no false positives. If the test comes back negative you can not be sure it is truly negative. We see this so often! People go gluten free before testing, people go gluten light before testing, people think that eating a cracker the morning of the test will be enough.........
  6. One is supposed to continue eating a regular gluten diet all the way through testing & that includes the endoscopy.
  7. Check it out Jane: Open Original Shared Link And note that this person was on Dapsone while it happened & the Dapsone couldn't even control it. No way, no how would I get an iodine contrast. It is taking iodine internally just as if you had eaten gobs of high iodine foods.
  8. Welcome to the board Mike! And you are a very lucky man to have such a smart wife who encouraged you to join a board for support. She is welcome here also if she ever has any questions or just needs to rant herself. You are a few steps ahead of the game with such a supportive family! And as to your question ---- you have been given good advice. There will...
  9. YVW. And I totally understood what you said. You make yourself clear when you post. Just as I said it's possible it is; not *it is* but some people don't understand what they read.
  10. I agree. I also see the mistake where people say they have celiacs disease. No, they have celiac disease. There are celiacs & they have celiac disease they do not have celiacs disease. Sorry, my rant over. Big kisses to all.
  11. It's possible that it is dh rearing it's ugly head. I certainly hope not!!!!!!! But it is possible. The antibodies get into the skin & it can come & go at will until such time as all the antibodies get out of the skin. We have had quite a few long time celiacs who never presented with dh (gluten-free for 8, 10 years these people) get cc'd or glutened...
  12. tmonster, You could try it & see. I doubt you will stay clear for long but you never know. If your doc says you can go back on it when you need to. But remember what I said? About the dh can present whenever it darn well pleases gluten-free diet or no UNTIL ALL THE ANTIBODIES ARE OUT OF YOUR SKIN. Example: I was doing real good. Been strict gluten-free...
  13. To the OP: Dapsone does not cure celiac disease & if you have dh, you have celiac disease PERIOD! As long as you continue to eat gluten then you are destroying your villi. There are no 2 ways about it. You can get Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, anemia from malabsorbtion, neuro issues, gluten ataxia, pain in your body like you wouldn't believe, as well as the...
  14. We are all individuals & therefore react on differing timelines & with differing severity but yes, it could come on that fast. Oh, a few nerves/anxiety could be mixed in there from contemplating this huge change in your life. Glad the pregnancy test was neg.! You don't need to add that to the mix just now ---- OH MY! I'm very glad that you familiarized...
  15. Welcome to the board moneek! And to the club none of us ever wanted to be members of. Tealiemonster is new here too. If you read the threads she has posted on then it will help you to learn. I am so sorry to hear you lost your home to Sandy. I come from hurricane territory myself having lived most of my life in southeastern coastal Fl. so i know full...
  16. Thank you chill. That kind of info. gives the rest of us coming behind you something to go on & gives us hope while we weather the storm.
  17. YVW chill. But you were misdiagnosed for 40 years. GROAN. I'm going to add 2 links which Karen posted on another thread b/c they are perfect for here & for newbies trying to get their docs to "see the light" as well as understand that a dx of dh IS a dx of celiac. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Chill, when...
  18. I wanted to add that we with dh have to be extra, extra vigilant not to get glutened. With Dapsone, it masks dh so you will not have dh flares to let you know you are getting cross contaminated (cc'd) & even if you weren't taking Dapsone; since dh can flare at any time then we really don't know if we've been glutened or it's just a naturally occurring...
  19. I do understand. You will find good & bad --- ridicule, disbelievers & misunderstanding as well as those who are more... shall we say intelligent?... who will be supportive. You have just gone gluten-free. There are things you are going to need to know. One is that many celiacs go through what we call gluten withdrawal. Just put those words...
  20. I have never been on Dapsone. I most likely wouldn't be able to take it as I'm allergic to sulfa drugs & it's in the sulfa class. I am now gluten-free for 13 months. And for much of that time I have been low iodine. I have had periods of very few lesions & periods of MANY lesions. DH can present at any time at all even when you are strict gluten...
  21. Oh! And congratulations on finding out what the problem was after being misdiagnosed for 15 years! 15 years too late but now you know what you need to do. Welcome to the board. And welcome to the club.
  22. No my dear, often endo biopsies come back neg. on us. Our damage tends to be patchier & unless the GI is really, really knowledgeable & GOOD then they won't take enough biopsies for our damage to prove positive. I'm surprised your blood came back positive as we usually test neg. on the blood too. So your dx of dh PLUS the positive blood is a no brainer...
  23. I know which red dye b/c my hubs must ask me 50 times a day! Every time he starts to eat something that is red he asks me. I feel like tattooing it on his hand so he won't keep asking me. And then he always says ---- are you sure? You're pushing it buster! Oh yes! The Oxi Clean Max Force works like a charm for blood but you have to put it on for...
  24. sisterlynr, I hope you will let us know how the light therapy turns out! That could be something we all could use if it proves to be of value. When you used the tanning booth ---- do you attribute any healing to the use of the booth or to Dapsone or can you say definitively? And since I'm not up on the latest with tanning booths these days -- I may be...
