  1. I was going to wait another day to post this but I owe it to all of us to post it right now. I found something which stops the itch. And I mean STOPS it. Done. Over. Finished. This morning I had a thought about trying something to stop the itching. I tried this on my itchies at 8 a.m. my time. Depending on the particular itch,it stopped the itching...
  2. Stay tuned folks. I'm going to start a new thread about stopping the itch dead in it's tracks! EUREKA!
  3. LOL! But(t) Oh you poor baby!
  4. I've never been overweight in my life. My mother wasn't either & I am now positive she had dh also although hers only occurred in her scalp.
  5. One day at a time. That's how I count them. Keep it up!
  6. Why does this stuff want to get us in the MOST irritating places? I would still be a major pain in the rear but arms or legs would be a darn sight better than scalps, ears, butt cheeks, arm pits, face. I mean REALLY!
  7. I know Prickly. Sometimes it seems nothing helps much. But I still thank you for the tip about Vanicream as well as the Cromolyn recipe.
  8. AND she turned me on to the Cromolyn cream recipe which is made with Vanicream & Nasalcrom. It says to use glycerin also but I hunted & hunted & couldn't find any so I just used the Vanicream & Nasalcrom & it seems to help me more that way than straight Vanicream --- at least while the lesions are new, swollen, red & ITCHY! I keep...
  9. Just know that from everything I've read it's MUCH harder to get a medical diagnosis by a doctor of dh than it is celiac disease (the GI part). Because the dh tends to affect the skin then there is less symptoms & therefore damage of the intestines. The derm HAS to do the biopsy correctly & few actually know how to. I read yesterday somewhere a reliable...
  10. Don't make the mistake of thinking it isn't dh because you don't have it bilaterally. When I first began getting the blisters they were not bilateral. Then they became that way. But still not ALL are bilateral. What you have described sounds very much like dh & the pictures don't show everyone's dh nor at the different stages/reactions. I don't know enough...
  11. Your doctors are quacks. THERE I said it! I saw somewhere where you said you haven't yet told your doc you're off the Dapsone. Gee, if you go gluten free then the doc knows you won't need Dapsone & there goes that doctor's money from you every ? months for your check up & to get a new script. Hmmmmmm....... Read all the threads here in the dh forum...
  12. No need for me to even read it. Phama is interested in one thing only. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Why do you think things like honey & other natural, easily available things don't get studied much? No $$$$$$$ for pharma companies. They'll lie, cheat, steal 7 kill you as long as they get $$$$$$$$$. No conscience.
  13. Gee, I really hope you're still around! I would love to know what finally turned out for you. Ear wax wise & otherwise. I have been having small dizzyish, "out there" spells for about a year but then I only found out I was celiac (self diagnosed by textbook DH outbreaks) in Sept. of this year (2011). Been trying to go gluten-free since then but the...
  14. Be careful with the Knorr. If you're talking about the new Knorr "homestyle stock" in those little tubs then the chicken is fine but the beef one contains wheat!!!!!!!!!
  15. Be careful giving the knotted string rope toys. That stuff comes out in strings when they pull on it & while many dogs don't do that too much, some can really go at it & can get such a wad in their digestive system that they can't pass it. You know what happens then -- that is if you're lucky & informed enough to notice the symptoms --- you guessed...
  16. Well, actually I am corn free but not because I want to be nor because I have reason to believe I have a problem with corn. I love grits, another of my traditional comfort foods. I like tacos, cornbread. But I have not been eating them as I have not found anything in that arena yet which is processed in a gluten free facility & at this point in time I...
  17. Ohhhhhh that sounds Gooooooood! So do you think you can now tolerate lactose because your villi have had time to heal? I'm not doing dairy myself right now --- only egg whites & I am hoping once my gut has time to heal that I will be able to go back to it. Milk has always been my very favorite food. Even as a kid when everyone else wanted a soda I wanted...
  18. Thank you both. I know I just have to grit it out. The eating part wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the torture of dh. Pricklypear --- i know what you mean about not eating stuff simply for not wanting to read labels and you've been at it a lot longer than I. I also feel like I have put my hubby in prison. He still eats gluten but is trying very hard...
  19. I will add my thanks also. As well as saying I hope to stick around too for the same reasons expressed above. I sit here now having thought I was gluten free from at least Nov. 1st but Thanksgiving night my hubby discovered I had missed spotting gluten in a food we had been eating. That was a major low point for me. Like taking a giant step backwards....
  20. Thanks so much for the info. about the hormones rosetapper! Good heavens! who woulda' thunk it? So is that why I'm such a "B" the past 5 years???!!!!!???? Well, if the diseases don't kill us then the insurance companies will.
  21. Never apologize for long posts. More information is more information. We are all learning, trying to learn here. Searching for what works & what others have experienced. But to find out you had it IN your ears --- OMG!!!! I'm terrified!
  22. Oh yeah! On the tops of my ears, in the curves of my ears, on my ear lobes --- I'm terrified that one day one will be INSIDE my ear! The ear ones seem to hurt more than anywhere else. They really are painful. They ooze & they itch & it's fiery. I get dh in my scalp too. HATE IT!!!!!!! They ooze & matt your hair together & are just horrible...
  23. Me too rosetapper. Every particle of positive energy I have is coming your way.
  24. Hmmmm... I wish I could give you my experience for although I have lived in coastal Florida all my life I've never had any complexion problems out of the norm. EXCEPT when my first major flare of dh happened the day we arrived from moving inland a min. of 65 mi. from the coast. My thinking is that if your complexion problems are not any or ALL from air pollution...
