  1. I've heard of this happening numerous times on this board. Okay, even if the steroid was working, steroids have a habit of giving you a hell of a lash back once you quit them. A strong prescription strength topical steroid can help some and it won't give the lash back. Take him low iodine for a week or two. Iodine exacerbates the rash. Here's a guide...
  2. I tried posting & it just won't let me submit it. Maybe b/c I tried to post links?
  3. I was so entertained by your story that you made a yucky happening seem like a fun adventure. I'm sorry this has happened to you. It drives me batty when that happens! BTW, I get old friend eye twitch too. I really hate that guy. Can anyone be so annoying?
  4. I have a problem with even purity protocol grown gluten-free oats. Yes, see what cutting oats does for you.....maybe that's all you'll need to do. Just FYI, here is the Fasano diet: Open Original Shared Link
  5. I had night sweats, day sweats/hot flashes and swollen lymph nodes in neck and in groin both before gluten free and lasting, I'm guessing, at least a year into gluten free. I've been gluten free for over 5 years now & didn't keep a log of how long it took lymph nodes to go away after gluten free so I can't give you an exact time frame. I hate to...
  6. Hey, I'm drooling so badly over your description that I'm about to short out my keyboard here.
  7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I see now. thanks for setting me straight on that. Well at least you have the grape. Enjoy!
  8. It will/can help if you sort of turn your meals upside down. In this, I mean, eat for breakfast something like you would eat for dinner. In the morning, eat protein & fat & plenty of it. Have fatty steak for breakfast along with fruit & whatever else. For snacks during the day, things like apple slices or bananas with peanut butter. For now, don...
  9. I'm sorry, I obviously misunderstood and honestly, I still don't understand. I thought you wanted preserves that contained no sugar and that you did fine with the Polaner Grape jam so I'm confused as to why you can't have the ones I listed. What am I missing?
  10. Yep, lots of us have gone through gluten withdrawal. Headaches are one symptom reported, also stark raving, 24/7 starvation like you could eat a mountain of food & do & 20 min. later you're starving again, irritability to downright meanness, aches & pains..... & many others so if you get off with just headaches then you're not doing so bad...
  11. Here's a simple, easy blueberry recipe -- uses agave nectar Open Original Shared Link And this one for strawberries Open Original Shared Link It looks like Smucker's Simply Fruit products contain no sugar Open Original Shared Link
  12. Thank you SO much for coming back to tell us the end story. This will help so many people in future. I am unbelievably happy that your doc re-looked at the gene testing results and saw the discrepancy, questioning what exactly went on with it. It would help if you would post the docs contact info in the Doctors section of our forum. You never know when...
  13. Oh my goodness Ennis!!! OK, I am seeing this item in the blueberry that are not in the grape: citric acid Any chance you have a problem with citric acid? As you say, it's possible the maltodextrin was sourced differently. Then finally, from what I've heard/read from reputable sources including friends who are nurses, an allergy can arise...
  14. And I agree with Karen. You're a troll. I am un-watching this thread. To my fellow celiacs and NCGS on this board: This is only my opinion but continuing to answer or reply to this person will only exacerbate his/her continued arguments. This person wants to cause disruption. I will not be a party to it & I advise none of the rest of you to...
  15. Thanks, I did do some checking. Although I didn't find any wheat flour references, I did see the others and the use for pollen subs. I don't do facebook but I believe you when you say there are some beekeepers mixing up their own pollen cakes using wheat flour. This really could be a problem. One has to ask themselves how much is getting spread around the...
  16. Awwwwwwwwww, I'm sorry. Okay don't go Googling so much. Floating stools are celiac -- forget the pancreas stuff you read.
  17. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That IS indeed fantastic news!!!!!!! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Open Original Shared Link
  18. Good girl! I think it's real smart to find a new specialist.
  19. Again: Open Original Shared Link Can a skin biopsy for dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) confirm celiac disease or is an endoscopy still needed? A skin biopsy should be done on a non-affected portion of the skin near the rash when there is an outbreak. It’s not necessary to perform an intestinal biopsy to establish the diagnosis of celiac disease i...
  20. I am wondering why you're asking specifically about NCGI. Have you been tested for celiac disease?
  21. And make sure to keep him on a normal gluten diet!!!!!! VERY important!!!!!!
  22. You don't NEED to eat more than what cyclinglady linked you to but by all means, if you want to have a gluten farewell glut in case you DO have celiac, then this is your chance. Cyclinglady didn't tell you but she makes no secret of the fact that she went whole hog on sourdough bread in the time leading up to her endoscopy. If I recall correctly, she said...
